  1. Yes. And one of the ballsiest 1st round picks this organization ever took. There was like zero track record on him.
  2. That’s possible. 50% is also possible.
  3. Stupid Sox. Taking a guy out of Juco in the 1st round. Kenny loves his athletes! His defense is terrible! Poor scouting! Oh great, Rick signed him to an extension- waste of money! This organization is a complete joke! the Sox can’t identify young talent!
  4. 100% and it’s not even debatable. Plenty of things to dislike the Sox for but this isn’t one of them.
  5. Fuckity fuck
  6. But now the question is how stupid of a contract would you sign him to?
  7. Lol. ??‍♂️Thought it was Nova
  8. Maybe he thinks this game is going to be high scoring for both teams so the staggering might be an effort to win the bullpen stage of the game
  9. I feel ya but I really don’t think it’s a rule that he wants every hard thrower to dial it down for more control. I think it’s just case by case. If Cease is locating at 97-98 I wouldn’t worry. With Sale he was still fresh and skinny with a crazy motion, had that injury and was also running out of gas at the end of every year. Kopech dialing it down a smidge finally helped him get to the majors. Giolito is throwing harder again Lopez throws hard as shit. It’s hard to draw a conclusion other than every pitcher is different. But I will say that our pitching coaches think command and control are the keys to successful, long-term pitching careers. I’m cool with that
  10. That final pitch was sick. Started him 0-2, then threw three balls. Instead of throwing full count fastball he threw some kind of 86mph sinking changeup with hard bite in the zone. That was completely unfair. Huge stones to go offspeed in the zone like that. Call him up to work with Coop
  11. She’ll be happy you don’t have to cancel celebrating her birthday any more
  12. Run over us with the car, then stop and peel out, kicking mud n gravel all over the dying remains? Yes I could see that
  13. It’s baffling. We should be celebrating the high babip and lack of walks. Every last one of us. It’s the same misguided thinking that bashes Madrigal’s current and future OPS. OPS is 100% going to be a useless statistic to measure Madrigal’s impact. For all the people that say “a hit is the same as a walk, just get on base etc.”, Madrigal is going to open their mouths and fill them with piss as they cheer for him.
  14. Apparently you learn how to beat Chris Sales and Corey Klubers festering in AAA.
  15. Piping hot taeks! I liked the one the other day saying Robert was “clearly rushed back too soon” because of the 7k.
  16. It’s not like it was the RL
  17. Queue up the “see we shoulda waited to extend him” posts. ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️
  18. First time really watching him. He looks super cool and calm out there. Almost cavalier but you can tell he’s focused. It’s just his style
  19. Jerksticks replied to SCCWS's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yes, does somebody have the 28 chart for everybody going this year?
  20. Pods is a perfect example of why OPS should never ever ever ever be used to evaluate speedy on base guys with little power.
  21. Just don’t think he’s a major leaguer. (Based solely on my eye test)
  22. Seems wrong to care at all after 2 weeks. I get we are all starving Sox fans but there are only 3 possible outcomes after 2 weeks: A good start An average start A bad start They all have one thing in common- they are starts. Even extremes at either end are suspect (Robert & Rutherford)
  23. Here for the Madrigal hot taeks
  24. Ughhh. You can’t just throw out the term starting pitcher when referring to Montgomery; he’s a guy who has started games. You don’t give $39 million to Chatwood if you think Montgomery can start 32 games for you. This is a terrible taek
