QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 13, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) Such a great season, and such a good show. They even made Jesse and Skyler more likable characters for me, which was a source of major frustration for me during the first three seasons. I recognize that I am late to the parade but I finally have watched all four seasons, mainly based on friend's recommendations as well as all the talk on this board about how great it is. Now I am going back and reading all these posts because I want to keep reliving the show. I will have to disagree on one thing, Jesse is my favorite character and I want him to prevail in the end. Skyler is annoying and the whole IRS payback plot was stupid. Also I can't stand Walt. But a great show, probably one of the very few shows where every season gets better. That is pretty rare.

AND THAT'S A MARK BUEHRLE WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 02:31 AM) All pitchers should copy his style. Get the ball and deliver it with confidence. Hope we sign him to a 2-3 year deal. Just do it Jerry. I'd think if St. Looie lets Pujols walk, it's a natural they'll outbid the Sox for Mark. Why wouldn't they? Mark doesn't want to play there -
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 16, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) SP Blackjack SP Fernandez SP Contreras SP Alvarez SP MB RP Cotts RP Thigpen RP Thornton RP Jenks RP Foulke RP El Duke - for the 3 biggest outs any of us will ever see. RP Sale CF One Dog 2B Durham 1B Frank f***in Thomas LF Belle DH Thome RF Magglio 3B Ventura C Charles Johnson SS Ramirez I'm considering every player at their best while they were with the Sox. It's a bad defensive team and way too RH bit they'd score some runs. sorry but no way can you pick thome over paulie

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Having Ramirez bunt was about the umpteenth time that ozzie played right into the hands of the opposing manger that right folks is why he should be shown the door. He was absolutely owned that inning the manger's job is to put players in a position to succeed. He failed miserably once again in both the top and bottom of that inning. no he didnt, you arent even looking at this objectively, you just want to criticize ozzie. when you give up 2 homers in the 9th and then hit into a dp with the winning run on third, its the players fault plain and simple

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) Absolutely. I'd kill for a catcher like him. 5th round pick, after we took beckham morel and hudson and just before kenny jr and danks2

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 10:35 AM) As long as another injury doesn't occur, I think 2012 will be his finest season with the White Sox. There were flashes of dominance. Personally, I would like to see him finish out the season. I think pitching now would help him for next year, but they pay people a lot of money to make that determination. How difficult would that be? There are probably 75 starters who could put up a season that would be his best for us

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) Remember when certain members of the media would say that "one person doesn't make that big of a difference in a lineup". Well, I went back and looked at the 31 games this season we've lost by one or two runs, and I calculated the stats for Rios and Dunn. Rios is 25 for 123 in those games (.204 bavg) with one HR and 4 RBI in those games Dunn is 12 for 94 in thos games (.128 bavg) with 3 HR and 8 RBI in those games You're looking at a team that is on par with the Tigers, if not at the head of the class, if those two could have given us a lot more production in close games. nice research terrible hitting what are the numbers since say july or so when it was clear these guys were never going to hit this year and a change should have been made?

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 06:02 AM) The best Rescue Me episode of the season last night. Too bad it's the next to last one. this season has been pretty lame as far as i am concerned. i am tired of all the drinking references

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) Where does Peavy get off talking about how he just wants to get to the off season so he can return to normal? What a f***ing asshole. I've been a defender of this guy up to today but no more, not after those remarks he made. Narcissistic jag. The Tigers magic # is what, 24? And this guy is talking like it's over. glad to have you aboard and this whole bulldog mentality he tries to portray is all a fraud

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) LOL. Don't tell Lemon44. He thinks PHing Dunn in the 9th inning in a close game is a good idea. it is the only way he can make history, lets make sure he gets enough ABs to do this

8/31 GT - SOX vs. Twins - 1:10pm CDT - WGN

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) And who else are you going to pitch instead of Peavy...? There's no doubt Peavy had a bad start, but the fact that the offense was hindered by Ozzie Guillen before the game even started speaks louder volumes. the offense scored 6 runs, you should win every one of those games peavy is just a flat out terrible pitcher, the team is hindered by having to pitch him and pay him -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) Peavy still gave the team 5 innings despite an absolute suck fest in the first. But the problems with this team stems from the manager and his terribly wrong use of players like Dunn and Rios. It would be one thing if he was forced to play Dunn and Rios and had no other alternatives. But hey...he does have alternatives and they're all pretty damn solid. It's like Ozzie wanted to lose the damn game. 6 runs in 5 innings and you try and make that sound positive? -

QUOTE (SnB @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) That inning is a perfect image of this whole season. Rios/Dunn being awful. PK being great. Ozzie making ridiculous managing decisions. (Dunn, stewart) and DeAza hitting a double and dayan getting a hit in th 8th -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) If Peavy would have limited it to 4 runs in the first inning.... Well, we still have a 25% chance of coming back and winning this, because the Twins' bullpen is so horrible. DJ predicting a Rios homer? Hahahaha!!! if ifs and buts were candy and nuts every day would be christmas -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) I think he's more likely to be a .225 batting average hitter, but he'll walk enough and hit 18-20 homers if he's a full time starter, which should make him valuable. and if he can throw i would take that production -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) Whoever the GM is will have to try and unloaded at least one of the three busters for another bad contract. I can't see anyway you allow all of them back on the roster next year. Fans already hate them enough this year, and that's with a few remaining likable vets on this team. I just can't wait for Peavy to be our Opening Day starter next year because of his experience. i will boycott opening day if that happens, maybe just sit in the parking lot and tailgate if we by some miracle won the division, he should not be on the playoff roster -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) It's setting up to be an absolute PR nightmare for the Sox this offseason when they either can't bring back Buehrle or have to unload two fan favorites in Danks and Quentin while maybe the two most despised Sox players of our generation in Dunn and Rios will be making 33% of the payroll. As for Peavy...don't even get me started on him. The entire AL Central should send a fruit basket to the doctor that salvaged his career. seriously 3 guys who have been with us their whole careers (besides Carlos short zona stint) and who are likeable and play hard that we can't keep because of 3 pigs with no ties to the organization. disgusts me -

QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 01:28 PM) I am so sick of watching Kubel hit HR's against us. The guy has a career total of 104 HR's now, with 22 of them against us. That's over 20% of his HR's against just us. The next closest total against any other team is 12 against the Indians. Just ridiculous. I am sick of watching, listening to and reading about Jake Peavy. If he is the reason we don't resign Mark I will be very unhappy. -
