For me, it's hard to say because I believe in the butterfly effect in baseball. Just because he figured it out in Oakland, doesn't mean he would have figured it out in Chicago. Given the record pitchers have here, odds say he does, but you never really know.

I never root for a divisional rival, plus I live in the heart of the bandwagon Tigers' fans. Needless to say, I'm rooting for New York.

Long term pitching deals always work in the long run. 24M (Fielder) + 16M (Sanchez) + 22M (Cabrera) + 25M (Verlander). $87 million into 4 players is a terrible business plan, despite how good those players are. Especially players who have body types that love to get big (Fielder and Drinky), an average pitcher and a guy who has 1550+ innings before age 30. Not to mention Jackson, Scherzer, Fister, are all entering free agency in the next 2 years or so. I get that they're pretending to be a big market team, but there are better ways to go about it.

I read all the preseason magazines, only USA Today has the Sox higher than third. Second with 91 wins and a wild card.

Gavin Floyd is underrated.

Gave up 3 runs today in the first, but Beckham botched a DP, and one of the hits was a BABIP blooper. So, I'm not all too worried about that.
