  1. Wonder if they could have tried to dangle Lindstrom to Tampa or the third team in an attempt to get a better haul back?
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 26, 2013 -> 05:03 PM) Then you'll be pleasantly surprised Hope so!
  3. The more days go on, the less confident I feel. I don't think they move Peavy, Rios, or anyone.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) Bring on the Red Sox, DBacks and Dodgers for him. How good is LA's farm?
  5. During 2011 it was rumored that the Sox were going to replace Ozzie with Ken Macha. I would be down with that.
  6. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 11:22 PM) Post ASB. Probably a reliever. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 11:56 PM) Here's what I've been told...(one source), FWIW - Close on a couple deals (real names exchanged) - Sale is not untouchable - Several guys are on their way out just to be gone (out of favor with RV) Thanks
  7. When do you guys think the first move is?
  8. It's kind of funny. The mods at WSI drove away and banned everyone they didn't like and now WSI is what it is, where as Palehosed, and Soxtalk (where the departed left to go), are infinitely better.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Worth noting their ERA+ numbers, which do ballpark factors and take into account the rest of the league. Frank Thomas, 1994: 212 Miguel Cabrera, 2013: 200. Frank had 7 seasons with an ERA+ over 170. Cabrera is in his 3rd. My lord that's insane, even I didn't realize that Frank's numbers were like that. I think you meant OPS+, but point taken.
  10. I hate the Tigers so much. Really glad I wasn't a sheep who only liked them because of their proximity to my location.
  11. Nothing wrong with Hahn asking a lot. Its basic negotiations, you always ask for more.
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 11:46 PM) Adam Dunn is fourth in baseball in home runs. Two guys ahead of him are triple crown candidates. Teams need that. This is not 2003, power is a premium and Dunn has it. True that. I wonder who would take him on though? Baltimore? Padres? Rangers?
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 32s The #Braves inquired about Jake Peavy, according to @ajcbraves. #whitesox FWIW: David O'Brien ‏@ajcbraves #Braves inquired about Peavy, but I get impression it was a just-in-case thing when couple of their starters were struggling. Not saying it has any merit, because its just his opinion.

  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 01:31 PM) From year to eyar he seemingly had a different approach at the plate. I've never seen anyone do quite that. He was a fun hitter. Only 3 guys left from that 2000 team that are still active (though there's 1 that I don't think has announced his retirement). Buehrle, Garland, and Konerko?
  16. Living in Toledo and in the heart of Detroit sports fandom, coming back from 3-1 and winning the series was awesome. Dealing with the locals was annoying, but the Wings are out and the band wagoners won't care about the Wings anymore until next April.
  17. Get another arm and hitter if possible. Try to find ones heading into free agency so the pieces traded in return is minimal.
  18. Robin had a meeting? I need to follow things more closely. Can anyone give me the details? Or was it NBD?
  19. I'm not really a jersey guy. I like the player tee shirts. Sporing a Konerko one as I type this at school. Take that, local society.
  20. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 02:58 PM) Another interesting thing to think about was the Torii Hunter situation of 2008. The White Sox were coming off a miserable 2007 campaign and were in the desperate need for an upgrade in the OF. The White Sox pretty much had Hunter signed until the Angels swooped in last minute to offer him a ridiculous deal the he couldn't refuse. If the White Sox sign Hunter, they do not trade for Swisher and essentially keep Gio. I always think about that too. Hunter instead of Swisher probably doesn't have that mental weakness vs the Twins in the late 2000s. Assuming Hunter didn't have a bad 2008 like Swish, they probably don't play a game 163, even with TCQ going down. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Good chance we don't have Sale now either. True that.
  21. I know the Nats have a solid line up, but it is still an NL line up and I hope Bulldog can feast on it.
