  1. Cahill and Skaggs for Trumbo and his .299 OBP? Holy s*** Kevin Towers is stupid.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) John Hart. Wow. I thought he was smarter than that.
  3. Boyers needs to pimp the s*** out of Abreu, Sale, Konerko (and his farewell), and Garica.
  4. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 11:55 PM) Interesting. Seems like that would be 1 too many then to carry on the bench. Maybe Kepp is on the move after all? Uribe would solve that problem of not having a legit backup to Alexei. I really hope its this, but... QUOTE (southside hitman @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 11:51 PM) LET'S GET THE OLD BAND BACK TOGETHER, BOYS! ...its probably this. Just to get butts in the seats. 2005!!!!1
  5. Is there a rule of thumb that defines a woman just being flirty vs. real interest? Thanks.
  6. What was Getz' problem in KC? Did he just never stay healthy? 2009, and 2011 he played over 100 games and had numbers better than Beckham. (other than 2009 anyway) http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=2B
  7. There is no doubt the Sox would not send them Quintana, even if they got Headly to extend. I'm just saying that is probably where San Diego starts at.
  8. They'll probably want Quintana.
  9. If it comes to ST and he is still unsigned. I wouldn't be upset if the Sox try to snag him. 6/140, and front load it while the payroll is low? I'd do it.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) The problem is that someone has to be willing to offer him a big number for 6 to 9 years. If the Yankees are slipping out of the running, the Dodgers are already out apparently, and the Rangers have to be done after Prince, then who is left? Could Detroit really jump back into the $200 million contract market after dumping Prince? The Angels have to be tapped out from the looks of it. Phillies seems done blowing up their payroll as well. Mets don't seem interested up that high, Cano's team had to beg them just for a sit down. Would Washington risk a rift with Boras to sign Cano to a big time deal? You may see some of those teams jump in on the lower level (5-6 years), but I think 7+ won't happen. Agreed. As I said in an earlier post, all the teams looking to compete already have second basemen or money allocated for other needs/unavailable. Cano is a free agent in the wrong market, at the wrong time.
  11. Jays are holding on to Thole because of Dickey.
  12. Cano is going to have to "settle" with so much less. All the teams looking to compete all have second basemen already. Yankees have all the leverage here.
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) Lol I call major bs on that one. Are we ready to call quits on Flowers, and Phegley, already? Wasn't Flowers playing hurt all season? And Phegley has a small sample size and has adjusted in all levels in the minors.
  14. The Rothschilds took him out because he wanted to end the Federal Reserve.
  15. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) Blowout Preventer. hahaha
  16. I kind of hope is is true. Not because I have anything against Fielder. But a lot of young players that Detroit trades away tend to fizzle out. If this is true, then they may have had to move him, and we reaped the benefits.
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) The question itself and the answer I assumed wasn't that funny. When I found out the ACTUAL answer, I almost lost it. What was the answer?
  18. Start him in Charlotte rotating 3B, SS, and 2B.
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 4, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) Midnight eastern time. Cool. Thanks.
  20. Does free agency start at midnight? Or is it an arbitrary start time like 6AM ET, or whatever?
  21. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 4, 2013 -> 03:37 AM) Additionally, I wonder what your definition of "no power" is. Because Granderson recently hit 40+ HR in back to back years. I wouldn't expect him to ever hit that number again, but I think 20 HR is a reasonable benchmark in a full season and I wouldn't consider that "no power". Fair enough.
  22. For people clamoring over Granderson, just remember Granderson is coming off of a wrist injury which will likely zap him of his power. In 2012 when he was healthy, his OBP dropped down to .319. In 2011, and 2012 he had a negative DRS. So, were going to pay Granderson, I assume to be, over 10M a year to play bad defense, not get on base, and not hit for power? Pass.
  23. Too bad the hitting has been bad for the most part. Two playoff appearances with that kind of pitching is an embarrassment.
