QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 11:06 PM) Eh, that Verlander guy turned out ok. Avila is good too. They have been good about unloading their prospects for the major league team, though. I guess I should have phrased it better. I meant more like Tigers' prospects that are traded away.
-
Tigers' prospects traded away seem to never really pan out though. As much as I love and want Avi to succeed, I still have doubts.
-
Quintana's BABIP has stayed pretty flat too (infact, its the highest of his career this year), so this isn't some sort of lucky year, either.

Sox willing to deal Beckham in "right deal now"

Barney's defence is really, really good. +42 DRS at second base. And in limited rolls he has been average at worst at SS, and 3B. I would take him and make him the new UTL infielder. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...ieldingadvanced -
QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 01:06 PM) matt wieters is alot like flowers How so? Wieters has a career OBP of .320, and that is with a .287 OBP last season. Wieters has put up 4+ fWAR seasons before.
-
I don't think Eminor3rd was serious.
-
Wieters is a free agent after next season and will probably want a big payday. I know he's out for the year, but I wonder if we could get him via trade and try to extend him.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 07:06 PM) I don't think Ozzie should ever manage the White Sox again, but the other stuff? Why not? He was just as bad if not worse on his way out the door as a player and no one remembered that. Just as long as he doesn't bring Cowley with him. As long as Ozzie doesn't do any on field activities, like managing, or coaching I wouldn't have a problem with him having some kind of "job" in the organization.
-
I knew this would be a Cowley article.

44 year old first time dad, eh? Not bad. My dad was 38 when I was born. And congrats. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 06:41 PM) PK wishes he was in scottsdale on the golf course at this point. The farewell tour isnt even being acknowledged by anyone. Think PK will retire before the season is over?

I don't claim to be the master of the advanced stats, but: Since May 24th: 2.65 ERA/4.29 FIP/4.52 xFIP/4.42 SIERA and a .241 BABIP (career average is .287, btw) That ERA is misleading. I say sell while he has value.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 12:44 AM) We shall see. I've been sick as f*** for a week so I've been out of the social circle. Get well soon, guy. Thanks for responding, btw.

Any new rumours, Rock? Other than the news of Rodon tomorrow?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 12:08 AM) So fWAR is more accurate? I think so. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/war/differences-fwar-rwar/ I know, its Fangraphs so of course they think theirs is better, but they make sense.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2014 -> 10:20 PM) don't they just use B-R's? No. Fangraph has its own WAR. (People usually called fWAR around the internet). Fangraphs does use B-R's war, they just call it rWAR.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 06:37 PM) I'd also like to mention that the difference in AAV between max deal in NY considering NY/NYC tax and max deal in CHI considering IL tax is at least somewhat relevant. NYC income tax - 3.7%. NY state income tax - 8.9%. CHI income tax - 0%. IL state income tax - 5% Chicago has no income tax? I am completely surprised by that.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 06:00 PM) Mike Bresnahan@Mike_Bresnahan·10 mins Carmelo meeting over. Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak walking out with him and his agent. 2.5 hours total. Not very long.
-
lol my internet cut off right before so I missed it. But a 30 pitch count first for Richards can be really handy for us if we don't let him off the hook.

Hasn't it been proven that the HR derby doesn't f*** up your swing?

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 02:07 PM) If I didn't live 6 hours away I would be at every game I could make... Ditto.

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 03:52 PM) Mariners can have Dunn for a song, any song, even a rap song. Viciedo they can acquire for a quality spect or a bust type with some upside. Alexei is an absolute pipe dream for them unless they want to get serious. They may be owned by Nintendo but Hahn doesn't play games. Especially over Alexei. This is beautiful.

The AL Central has the most the second lowest run differential of the six divisions. But our lowest is only -16, which is the highest lowest if I'm reading the standings correctly. Take it for what its worth.
