  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) You have some defensive issues there. Gordo should be at 3B, Iwamura at 2B and Alexei at SS for the most defensively sound infield. Iwamura is a very good 2B, not so great at 3B, Becks is a good 3B and Alexei is the best SS of the bunch. Your probably right, but I was thinking that Iwamura is a natural 3B, but I would think of Tampa got him to play 2B, I suspect we could as well.
  2. Here what I would think with 2010 opening day ages I think the teams wholes will be a third and one of the corner outfield positions. I would assume we're grooming Viciedo, so I don't think Figgins will work as he will likely seek out a multi year contract and I think Iwamaura would be a cheaper fix for a shorter amount a time and do just as fine. We are going to need a left handed bat to replace Thome, Bobby Abreu is available and if he'd take a 1 year deal with LA, I would think he'd take a 1 or 2 year deal with us. Just how I would think would make a great squad, but idk. 3B Akinori Iwamura (31) SS Gordon Beckham (23) RF Carlos Quentin (28) LF Bobby Abreu (36) 1B Paul Konerko (34) CF Alex Rios (29) C A. J. Pierzynski (33) 2B Alexei Ramirez (28) DH Tyler Flower (24) or Dayan Viciedo (21)
  3. Thank God! :headbang

  5. Over my Head - The Fray
  6. I know he's sucking now, but honestly, they wouldn't of picked him up if Coop didn't see something he couldn't tweak ala Danks, Floyd, Thornton, etc.
  7. Fire everybody (Exept Herm and Coop, obviously)
  8. I'm not, I miss Juan and his glove, when he wasn't brought back in 09', I knew we were gonna miss him.
  9. If the Sox cut prices, cut parking, etc. I think they would be in the top 5 of the AL
  10. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 04:34 PM) Isn't he hurt a lot? couldn't tell ya
  11. Hank Blalock is a power hitting lefty thats a FA this offseason. He' plays third which in theory would allow Bacon back to the middle IF and we could keep Dye.
  12. Dye. If Thome comes back I'm gonna be really pissed. I like him, and he's the left handed power hitter we need but we need to look long term
  13. 2 starts is alright by me, but the problem is there isn't that much of a window too see how he is. IIRC, Broadway made 2 starts in 07 and pwnd everyone, now even with the Mets pitching woes isn't even in their rotation.
  14. Im fine bringing back Dye if its to DH Switch Q to right (his natural position) and get us two outfielders
  15. I think Bacon would make a great #2 hitter, but with Alexei in the 2-hole he seems more good pitches (for him anyway) and his average and power increase which is always nice
  16. QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 03:58 AM) If we keep AJ i hope we bring up flowers to be the back up. So that flowers can step in full time in '11 and the staff doesn't miss a beat. I'd like to see Flower get some DH'ing in as well (as well as backup). Let him get used to MLB piching 2-3 times a week between backup C and DH
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 08:26 AM) Holliday won't happen - he's a Boras client. Revised: LF Carl Crawford 2B Gordon Beckham DH Jermaine Dye 3B Hank Blalock (Left handed power hitter to replace Thome) 1B Paul Konerko RF Carlos Quentin (could move up pending production) SS Alexei Ramirez C AJ Pierzynski CF Coco Crisp (adds some speed, signed as a bridge)
  18. I love the way the rotation is taking shape, it reminds me of the Braves with Smoltz, Glavin and Maddux
  19. 3B Chone Figgins SS Alexei Ramirez LF Matt Holliday DH Jermaine Dye 1B Paul Konerko RF Carlos Quentin (could move up pending on season) C AJ Pierzynksi 2B Gordon Beckham CF Jordan Danks teams gonna be huge
  20. 4/9/09 I sat in the OF begind him, I gave him "Hey Teahan, your on my fantasy team....you suck" once. thats it, I don't think it was too bad
  21. Sox and Twins down to the wire, the Tigers got lucky, and I think Jackson will fall back down to earth. And with the struggles of Porcello and Galaraga, I think the Tigers will finish in third.
  22. He could also make a good DH if Dye stays in right next year
  23. after a HR, I always wanted Hawk to say "theres the money shot"
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) The last time the Sox played Philly or the Mets, it was in Chicago, though. Then again, the last time we played Washington was at their place (well..Montreal) so who knows? Well no, we played the Phils in Philly back in 07'
