  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 24, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Fowler away from Coors: .211 .297 .298 .595 Stewart away from Coors: .239 .317 .454 .770 No thanks on either. I looked up both of these guys stats earlier today and I thought I was missing something. Why would we want them? They seem like they would be the source of a lot of fruatration of they were acquired.... like Teahen.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) If the Tigers aren't lying through their teeth and Martinez is going to be the DH most of the time, then this eliminates Detroit from the Adam Dunn sweepstakes. If Adam Dunn is insistent about playing in the field, then this eliminates Detroit from the Adam Dunn sweepstakes (unless they want to put him in LF, which would be awesome). I lold... But seriously... I only want Dunn if we can have Konerko back too. Is that a possibility?
  3. QUOTE (Special K @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) Agreed. Any big money spent should be focused on Dunn. Victor Martinez plays no defense. ??? And Dunn does?
  4. Is this just a AAA arm for Charlotte?
  5. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 07:01 PM) I usually like the cheaper cereals anyway because they don't have as much sugar in them. Aside from that it seems they're the same stuff. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I'd rather have Oats 'N s*** for breakfast instead of like Sugar Rockets or whatever. And JMO, but I think it's all part of a wider conspiracy where the drug companies and cereal companies get together and find ways to get kids all f***ing batty in the morning so they can't sit still in class and later on end up all doped up on downers. I think Post gets kickbacks from like Pfizer and stuff. Not really. But maybe... Nothing beats the difference between DayQuil/NyQuil and the Walgreens brand though. It's completely the same thing except the Walgreens brand is so much cheaper, and that's good for me because I love that stuff. I mean, you don't really have to be sick to drink it. You just shouldn't drink a lot of it. And you can't buy a lot of it either because then they think you're going to go cook up some meth. But you can even use it to make Flaming Homers apparently, although I've never tried that personally. Epic doesn't even begin to describe this post. We should have just /thread right there.
  6. Didn't McCarthy burn a few bridges on his way out of town when he was traded to the Rangers? Maybe a return to Coop can get him back in some form. He'd be alright for a project, but I wouldn't expect to get anything out of him.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) We'll keep Kenny and hire some plastic non-quotable guy like Buddy Bell. Not saying it's Bell but somebody very dull in media interviews. s***, if we go .500 or better, it might even be Cora. I wouldn't give a rat's ass if the manager was as dull as watching paint dry if he managed the Sox to beat the twins and tigers and win the AL Central.
  8. Eh... Damon doesn't excite me anymore. I'd almost rather give those at bats to Teahen.
  9. QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 03:40 AM) How much, if any, of his performance this last season has to do with playing for the Yankees? Some people just just don't thrive in that environment, Maybe it has something to do with being traded in the first place. Sometimes players are in shock from being traded for the first time. This I believe. I bet it's not easy playing in NY either. I bet it's an entirely different animal. AND they were the defending world champs. That's gotta be added pressure. Also let's not forget where Granderson is from. Coming home for some home cooking and playing in front of family and friends might be just what the doctor ordered. I just don't wanna lose E. Jackson to get him. Maybe the Yanks will take Gavin Floyd instead? QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 18, 2010 -> 07:39 AM) I have a feeling Andruw Jones will wind up in Minnesota. If they bring Thome back, he'd be a great fit for them. Good God no. I bet the minute he puts on a Twins uniform, he reverts back to 2005 form and launches 50+ bombs for the twins...
  10. I think Olivo is the back up plan if they can't resign AJ. I think AJ is definitely coming back though - especially since the Marlins have signed John Buck.
  11. Dude you're all over it today arent you?
  12. The White Sox signed third baseman Dallas McPherson, tweets Baseball America's Matt Eddy. The 30-year-old hit .267/.339/.541 with 22 home runs in 354 plate appearances for Oakland's Triple-A affiliate this year. He hasn't spent significant time in the bigs since '06.
  13. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) Gavin is gone and has been for a while. He's way to inconsistent and aloof. Gavin, Santos, Escobar + (low level prospect) to ARZ for Justin Upton or St Louis for Rasmus. Would you rather have Rasmus or Granderson? Wait... Rasmus is a lot cheaper, isn't he?
  14. That's what it looks like... Holy s*** the Hot Stove is heating up early this year!
  15. Man... Granderson is intriguing. If he could get anywhere close to his 2007 numbers while playing great defense... WOW. But at the same time I'd hate to give up Edwin Jackson - ESPECIALLY to the Yanks.
  16. To me, Jake Peavy is not coming back next year. He's done. That way, if he really is done, then I won't be surprised. But if he isn't and is able to contribute ANYTHING, it'll be a bonus.
  17. Tigers Reach Agreement With Joaquin Benoit Getting Linebrink money... Let's hope he performs about as well as Linebrink for the Tigers.
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) The Marlins ownership continues their reign of terror with another disastorous return from a salary dump. Just what the hell was the thought process here? Eh... but can a Marlins fan really complain? I mean the Marlins have been in existence for less than 20 years and already have 2 World Series Championships.
  19. Braves Acquire Dan Uggla Could have been a good dh...
  20. Man this DH situation is making me feel like I did with the missing CF/leadoff batter situation we had before the Rios/Pierre acquisitions. I guess I'd be okay with Manny if we somehow stumbled upon a stud left handed bat who is good in the outfield.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) This has now been covered in three threads. Where? I haven't seen it yet but I'd be interested to see the responses...
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) That's the first thing that went through my head. The second thing was that the 29-year-old Brad Lidge just happens to be the 2005 Brad Lidge, and that scared the crap out of me. HAHAHAHA!!! McCarver: "I don't think that taste (from the Pujols homerun in the NLCS) is there... Lidge delivers the pitch... Podsednik: BAM!!!! Game over. Good night. Drive home safely
  23. Good God why couldn't somebody in the Sox organization teach this guy how to swing a bat? Think of our defense with BA in center and Rios in right...
  24. I could see the Rays picking him up. I bet he does good.
  25. Didn't Troy Tulowitzki have an absolutely horrible sophmore season? Maybe Beckham will bounce back with a vengeance. I'd STILL use him in trade him for A. Gonzalez though - IF the Sox could extend him.
