I wonder what other MLB players are saying about Dunn.

Quentin to the DL, Viciedo up
Man y'all are putting so much hope on this kid. I just hope he doesn't turn out to be like Beckhan - hot for a few months then bad.
-
Which of the underperfomers will figure it out in 2012?
Rios will have a big bounce back next season. Beckham will do better IF the Sox have another hitting coach. If I were a betting man, I'd say that Dunn will never perform like he has in the past - until he returns to the NL. Peavy will have a nice bounce back season in 2012 too.

Dunn
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) I know a lot of people think this is all mental and because of that, Dunn should be back to what he was next year. I don't understand how anyone could come to that conclusion. What is sitting around all winter going to do to rectify that? If anything, I'd rather it be something physical, then healing would come into play. I do think that is the spin the Sox will use, something like he came back from his apendecomy too soon or something else and that he fought through some pain.......you know the drill. If they do, it will be a bigger indictment on the organization seeing they had someone ready to go in his place. One of my concerns with Dunn is how opposing teams - namely pitchers - view him. Who is going to be afraid of Adam Dunn now? Pitchers will come right after him and try to strike him out, which will decrease his walk rate. No one will be afraid of challenge him and I'm not that sure the guy will make them pay for challenging him. Remember how we were all salivating about the "big lefty bat" in the middle of the line up? I would kill to see Dunn traded back to the NL. I know that probably won't happen and I'll still root for him as long as he is in a White Sox uniform, but still...

Sox vs Rangers game thread
f***ing Adam Dunn... Who would have thought that BRENT LILLIBRIDGE would be playing at first over him because Dunn sucked so bad? Put his ass on the 60 day DL and send him home and tell him he'd better come back in spring training ready to contribute.

All Things Rick Hahn
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) I'd call it back up quarterback syndrome. Survey SAYS: DINGDINGDINGDINGDING!!!!!! That's exactly what it is.

White Sox vs. Indians
QUOTE (MAX @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 12:33 AM) Most of what people say about rios is based on his body language and their ignorance. No one here really knows what he is thinking, but so many think they do. Good post. I'm guilty of this as well.

Changes Looming If No Postseason
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 14, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) I'd give it about 20 games before people would be wishing Ozzie was back if LaRussa managed the White Sox. Every game would be 3 hours plus. You would need about 4 loogys, and a real bad player, DeWayne Wise would probably be available, that LaRussa would absolutely adore and play way too much. I don't understand the fascination with Larussa on this board. I would honestly rather keep Ozzie. Kenny Williams is not going anywhere. The only way he leaves is if he volunteers to step down because feels that he can't work with Ozzie any longer. I think that the best scenario would be for Ozzie to step down and to TV for a year before going to an NL team and for Kenny to hire Sandy Alomar Jr. or Dave Martinez. Hahn can move on to another team if he wants.

Dunn Reclassifed
I wonder if he's going to report to spring training about 40 lbs lighter? If he shows up fat again and he goes 0 for April and May, everyone will know that he doesn't care.
-
Why does Ozzie motivate opponents more than SOX?
Ozzie shouldn't have to tell his pitchers to retaliate. The pitchers should have enough f***ing balls to protect their team mates without having to be told.

Pale Hose vs. Orange Birds
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) Dunn couldn't hit water if he fell out of a f*cking boat. Dunn couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a handful of rice. Dunn couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle.

Lol watch Adam Dunn go on a tear when it becomes clear that the Sox are out of it. I mean he's gonna be on FIRE smashing EVERYTHING out of the park.

Larussa 2012?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 09:33 AM) Fisk would be a terrible manager if he was anything like he was on the field. Players today wouldn't put up with it. This x a million. Why would anyone think that Fisk would be a good manager? What has he done since he retired? Has he even coached at any level? I know Robin Ventura is a Sox favorite, but does he have the experience to be on a big league coaching staff? Playing is one thing, but coaching is another. Just because Frank Thomas was a great hitter doesn't mean he can teach someone how to hit.
-
Larussa 2012?
No. I'd rather they kept Ozzie before Larussa. Sandy Alomar Jr. or Dave Martinez please.

8/1 Yankees @ Sox 7:10
I bet the thick lump would probably start back hitting if we went back to the NL. He'd look soooo good in a Pirates uniform right now. Hell he'd look good in a Kane County Cougars jersey right now. He'd look good in any other teams uniform.

8/1 Yankees @ Sox 7:10
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:25 PM) I'm pretty excited that we have 3 more YEARS of a 'power' hitter who has a snowballs chance in hell of getting a hit off a lefty. No f***ing way. He'll retire before that three years is up. LOL they're going to start chanting RE-TIRE RE-TIRE at the Cell whenever he bats.
