QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan Jerry Manuel on MLB: 'Detroit is team to beat, no doubt about it. Coming down stretch you need experience in that dugout, running games' 'knowing you're not going to get out-foxed, out-managed. Not to take anything great job Robin has done. But coming down stretch ... ' That experience and that steady guy (Leyland) means a lot.' saw this last night, and then spent an hour trying to find a way to directly tell jerry he is a f'n idiot in the interweb blogosphere. who decided to put this guy on tv? what a jagoff

KW whining about (OK bringing up) attendance again
jhonnydanks replied to chisoxfan09's topic in Pale Hose Talk
thursday afternoon game (albeit 155 degrees or whatever): 1 parking pass; Lot D - $15 - bought outside on the street 2 tickets; first row; between first base and right field: $10/each - bought outside on the street 30 or whatever beers (bacardi, in game, bullpen bar) - entirely too much but well worth it to stay hydrated random rain storm to cool off the fan base and wrap up a sweep of rangers - priceless point is, it can be cheap, and the team is highly entertaining to watch and in first place. frankly, I'd pay $500/game if it guarnteed us another ring flying out to KC on friday to ensure the 2nd half gets off to a good start. don't stop get it get it -

The Official Thread for Joe Cowley and his Agenda.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:16 AM) Yeah, EVERY SOX fan knows the downside to this team, we're all just kind of along for the ride as long as it lasts and enjoying the fact that we're playing meaningful games at this point in the season (as opposed to last year)...but it's almost like it was specifically written to rain on everyone's parade. Something about it is just irksome...he did everything but lump in the fact that Courtney Hawkins is going to be a bust and that JR is cheap. It's like what you would expect the callers to Rongey's post-game show would have said the two previous nights. Not sure why they even gave him column space for it. At least Cowley has his agenda and his attempts at humor and he'll throw out something gossip-wise, but this article could have been written better by 85% of the posters at SoxTalk who know the team better than he does. well said my friend, couldn't agree more -

this mcneil article has been pissing me off. i'll be the first to admit his thoughts and arguments are valid (you're kidding yourself if you don't have the same concerns), but i see no reason this has to be published. it is lazy journalism, perhaps only brought out because he had a deadline to make and has fallen off the wagon over the past week or so (fishing trip + alcohol). if felt compelled to call in tomorrow, i would not argue his points (again, they are valid) but more so why this is the route he chose to take in light of all the recent (and positive) developments. just had to get that off my chest. don't stop get it get it -
aw what the hell....don't stop get it get it

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 10:36 PM) Whistle-Blower in White Sox Latin American Bonus Skimming Case Revealed[/b] The whistle-blower is Rafael Santana, 52, a Sox scout in the Dominican Republic and a former shortstop who was on the Mets’ 1986 championship team. Mr. Santana, who could not be reached, told Mr. Reinsdorf he was disturbed when he heard that David Wilder, who was then senior director of player personnel for the White Sox, forced young Dominicans to kick back portions of their signing bonuses. ... Mr. Santana’s boss was Mr. Wilder, so the perils of truth-telling were clear. Nervous, Mr. Santana sought advice from Jim Snyder, a respected organization veteran who was a special assistant for the team’s minor league coaches. Mr. Snyder called Mr. Reinsdorf. "He said I had to talk to our head guy in the Dominican, Rafael Santana, about something bad happening down there," Mr. Reinsdorf said. In late February 2008, they met in Tucson, then the Sox’s spring training site. "He told me that players told him they were forced to give Wilder some of their signing bonus," Mr. Reinsdorf said. He quickly called Robert DuPuy, then the president and chief operating officer of Major League Baseball, and Sheldon Zenner, a former federal prosecutor and partner at the team’s Chicago law firm, Katten Muchin Rosenman L.L.P. you know what's funny about this? wilder still sits front row behind visitor on deck circle with his fat a** world series ring on at a lot of home games. i tried to talk to the dude. he is the biggest scum bag in the world. you can pretty much tell from looking at the guy.

sorry, can't help myself. but THANK YOU #56 for all that you have meant to this organization. on a rainy, cold night in chicago the love was very much displayed. kudos to everybody in the stands tonight for making this a very heartfelt goodbye (which i still hope it isn't).

jhonnydanks replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
it was a beautiful send off. emotional indeed. thanks for everything #56, i sincerely hope this isn't a goodbye. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 11:46 AM) So without knowing much about the Marlins rotation, knowing they want to spend some money, and Mark's status a free agent, is it too early to start the Buehrle to Florida talk? you can start tomorrow

count me in as one of those 7. seems like a fitting night to pay some respect and do a little reflection on the state of our sox. don't. stop. -
seriously...go support this guy tonight. i don't care that it is cold and rainy. sit back, relax, and strap a hip flask of warm bourbon to yourself and cheer him on. and then proceed to forget this year ever took place.
-
i'm coming out of the woodwork to go see #56. as a white sox fan, i hope we can at least have 25K there to give him the ovation and thanks he deserves. it will be an emotional night when he walks off that mound.
