Sox engaged in "advanced trade discussions"
Springfield Soxfan replied to Leonard Washington's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It has to be the Cardinals, KW has a man crush on Rasmus and he will be in the Sox outfield next year. -
White Sox trade Scott Linebrink to Braves
Springfield Soxfan replied to pmcochr's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 05:06 PM) If they're deferring cash til next year, it means that Buehrle may be going bye-bye after this season. Buehrle has trade value due to the fact that if he is traded, the fifth year of his contract vests, I think he is gone this year. -
It's still amazing the Sox won with him as the closer in 2005, Bobby get it together and go pitch in the NL West.

Pierzynski Back; 2 years, $8 million
Springfield Soxfan replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) You mean like when they took on $120M in Rios/Peavy contracts a couple seasons ago? Great point on that! Let's get PK signed tomorrow. -
I think that one of our starters gets traded and moving Sale to the rotation is in anticipation of that move.

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread
Springfield Soxfan replied to Chisoxfn's topic in 2011 Season in Review
There has to be a trade coming, Buehrle loves St. Louis, KW covets Rasmus, if only there could be a fit. -

What a night, but someone has to get traded now Buehrle or Quentin. -
2010 Minor League Catch-All Thread

Sox lost their first round draft pick today for signing Dunn, it it worth it! -
Agree with everyone else 100% DH, maybe some outfield in the NL parks.
-
I love Derek Lee for being on the 2003 Marlins, but his ship has sailed. If Konerko is not an option, then I would take someone else.

A.J. not close to signing with Blue Jays
Springfield Soxfan replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This was inevitable, sad to see AJ leave and stay in the NL. AJ thanks for the memories. -
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Reading the comments from KW I don't see how PK isn't back unless he hates KW, OG or other players or he wants the top deal no matter what. It sounds like KW is going to give him his money and we made the team better. Agreed, not trying to sound too over confident, but KW seems to know PK is coming back. At least if he does not come back, it is not because of the Sox effort. Come on Paulie, come back for one more contract!! Paulie would retire as one of the greatest White Sox players ever and have a statue on the CF concourse.

Let's dream big and hope R. Soriano still comes with Konerko, Dunn, and AJ!! Dare to Dream. I believe it's a closer by committee next year.

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) Man, Boers and Bernstein are making me super excited about this signing. I could not agree more, it's rare to see this much optimism out of those two.

BA releases White Sox top 10
Springfield Soxfan replied to Jordan4life_2007's topic in FutureSox Board
Rogers is really down on Mitchell in this report and I surmise that he believes his speed and potential will NEVER come back just because he struggled in the AFL, seems way to over critical at this point...... -
2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
Springfield Soxfan replied to witesoxfan's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) He was super-close to getting him, until Detroit swooped in at the last minute with the offer the Sox couldn't top. I thought either John Danks or Floyd was part of the package offered to get Cabrera..........not sure if we would deem that worth it or not, but after the season that Cabrera had this year.......plus you would have had to take Dontrelle Willis and that monster contract..... -
I kind of hope the Sox make a run at Brandon Webb with a one year deal to catch lighting in a bottle.

Sox trying to resign PK and AJ
Springfield Soxfan replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If the Nationals have offered Dunn three years already, KW can't go higher than that so yes we need to make a run at both of them and keep them. -
I agree and truly hope Paulie comes back as well, but if he ends up with the Diamondbacks, that is not so terrible and that shows he wanted to be close to home.
-
I'm happy that Casto's option was picked up but only if that means he is the backup and his role remains the same next year.

MiLB Organizational all Stars
Springfield Soxfan replied to [email protected]'s topic in FutureSox Board
I know it's based on performance more than prospect status, but still Escobar should have been the top shortstop. -
Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
Springfield Soxfan replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think KW is watching this K-ROD situation with the Mets closely, if K-ROD strikes a deal with Mets to buy out his contract and he is healthy, that is a classic situation for KW to pounce. -
Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
Springfield Soxfan replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I still think a key to this offseason is Gavin Floyd, his shoulder status has been quiet and the severity of that injury could set the tone for the offseason. -
This is such a pipe dream, this will be just like Tori Hunter, KW will come in second because he would not offer more than a 4 year deal, we have seen this all before.
-
If the Sox don't re-sign Konerko...
Springfield Soxfan replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm surprised that AJ is listed as a Type A free agent, not sure how that will affect our offseason plans. I'm sure he will not be offered arbitration though.
