  1. Early season bad loss, should have won it. Sox will get them tomorrow. Put this one in that Hawk "one of those losses column"
  2. KC has always been a tough place for play for the Sox (at least it seems that way), that early season series in 2006 was ugly. Let's just get 2 out of 3.
  3. What happens with Marquez since he is on waivers? If no one claims him, is he still Sox property and will go to Charlotte or is he a free agent?
  4. Was he out of options or something or just bad? Surprised the Padres would have just released him. He had some potential, let's hope we can fix him. Nice find team!
  5. Lillibridge will be traded by Tuesday, Milledge makes this team.
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) Totally agreed. Marquez thou - I'm not sure I'd totally write him off yet. I personally haven't seen enough of him yet. Marquez does have some pretty solid spring numbers, but I'm still skeptical about him, I would surmise that his numbers were solid against AAAA players in the spring. I wonder if KW is still working on a deal.
  7. Baseball America and others are really down on Bellamy this year, I hope he gets his act together and the analysis that he might not be as polished as first thought is spot on.
  8. Has anyone heard if any prospects have really excelled this spring? With all of the Peavy discussion at the big club, not much attention has been paid to any of the "blossoming" prospects.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) Having this set in a little now, they would be absolutely stupid if they let him pick up a ball for ten days. Just shut him down, and start him over. Humber should start April 9th, and they should prepare him for that. I agree, even if he is ready to go next Thursday, give him the extra time.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) I think they're trying their hardest to trade Teahen, but if they can't (and they probably won't), Milledge will win out over Lillibridge. They can see if Lillibridge clears waivers, and maybe they can keep him without being on the 40-man. If somebody takes him, oh well...it's Brent Lillibridge. Agreed, Milledge is on the team. Lillibridge is only on the team of Teahan is traded or Vizquel gets hurt.
  11. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 13, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) When is Jake's next start? Anyone know?? I think tomorrow.
  12. I believe that all of this Teahen love right now is being generated by KW to develop a buzz so some team will take him off of our hands. We need D, I want Morel. Yes, Morel can hit enough and he will be Ozzie 9th place hitter and Vizquel will play 2 games a week.
  13. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Mar 10, 2011 -> 07:25 AM) Am I the only one who turned it on at 9CST, and it was half over? I was real confused. It said it was on from 9-10. It ended at 9:35. I did the same thing, but thought it was mostly fluff as well. I need to see the first 25 minutes.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 6, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) 2012--the Sox have 12 players signed right now for 93.5 million. They better win this year. Wow, and that does not include three of the starting pitchers on this year's roster, Buehrle, Jackson, and Danks.
  15. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Mar 5, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) So they will just cut him outright and eat the contract? I don't see that happening, unfortunately. Would be nice if they did it though and didn't worry about the payroll ramifications... Or, no one claims him off waivers and he sits in Charlotte all summer until he gets humbled and accepts some buy out. I'm not really sure, just my gut that there is no way he breaks with the team.
  16. Teahen is definitely not with the Sox on Opening Day...........KW will have to eat most of that contract. He's gone, I think he was gone even before today's developments.
