  1. From MLB Pipeline: "Tears redshirted at Tennessee in 2022 and then got only 56 at-bats due to hamstring and oblique injuries in 2023. Trading Robert for a guy with historical hamstring and oblique injuries sounds like a great idea. ๐ŸŽต"and the next verse is same as the first"๐ŸŽต
  2. Look, I'm also in the "Schriff sucks and Stone is past his prime" camp as well, but it's pretty dismissive to say "this is the worst ever" and also "I haven't listened to a broadcast all year" in the same breath. Schriff and Plesac work well together, and Schriff has even toned it down (a bit) this year. Still not my favorite but to say "it's the worst ever and I haven't listened to it" is a bit like saying "no one goes there any more, it's too crowded".
  3. We just need a "mystery team" to get involved, that will fix everything!
  4. I'm not familiar with this. Why would they contend that it wasn't real, like to what gain? I'm not doubting, just genuinely curious.
  5. Love this. As much as I dislike the guy, I'd take the "Deion Sanders taking over Colorado" approach, basically come in and say "most of you aren't going to be here next year so you get to decide if you leave on your own or I show you the door". Real drastic shakeup, say the Sox are open for business and overpay to build a whole system of the best and brightest. I'm sure it's naive to think we can actually do this (if it was so easy to just pay the best people a little more to get them to work for you, why doesn't every team try that now?) But anything to shake out the stink of the last three+ years.
  6. Sox vs. Rockies. Probably would've seen better competition if he just stayed in AAA for this series. But bring it on!
  7. "We shouldn't trade with Oakland. Or Toronto. Or the Dodgers. Or Boston. Or Alex Anthopoulos." Are we the baddies? At some point we need to reflect that maybe this org just isn't good at evaluating talent involved in trades, and everyone else knows it.
  8. Miami's stadium has a wall of windows in left field with a retractable roof. Say what you will about the rest of the park but the core features would line up very well with our proposed location.
  9. This question probably belongs in the Draft forum but does this mentality mean we might seriously be looking to draft Jace? He has the power and ability to read the zone well, which makes me think Getz would like him. But he also has a huge swing and miss tendency which screams anti-Getz-guy to me. I just can't get a read on what we might think of him, curious on your thoughts.
  10. Lol, the dog finally caught the car and doesn't know what to do
  11. Sure, but we thrive on things like that - it's something that we can actually look forward to! In fact, can we update the site banner to include a digital countdown to I-Day?
  12. Almost the entire city of Boston is reclaimed waterways - all of Back Bay neighborhood was literally the back of the bay.
  13. I'm ready with the popcorn for whoever wants to enjoy this thread devolve into a shitshow once a certain few people arrive with their opinions on the 78.
  14. Yeah I'm cautiously optimistic that this is actually GOOD news for us. It's like filling the first home or shop in a new development - once one person bites, it makes the whole thing viable and others get on board. This will have the city/state fund the infrastructure that Jerry needs and gives the ownership team confidence that the whole region is going to be developed. They aren't left holding the bag hoping to fill the whole thing.
  15. This Vargas take has aged quite nicely given his recent turn for the positive.
  16. My lasting and defining memory of Harold Reynolds' "analysis" is when he predicted that Gordon Beckham would be a Hall of Famer on draft night.
  17. In middle school my friends were competing over whose dad's car was the most popular - the dad with the Honda Accord or the dad with the Toyota Camry. I tried convincing them that my dad's Oldsmobile Alero was just as good as their dads' cars. That's all we can hope to get. A middling sedan from a forgotten and now-defunct brand.
  18. With this organization, you get contract extensions for numbers like those.
  19. I see what you did there ๐Ÿ˜‰
  20. Nah, the White Sox way is to play the bums every day and bat cleanup for a week straight before we release them.
  21. Said this last week and I was assured "but he's heating up!" The back injuries, inability to hit a fastball, and now broken confidence have me really discouraged. Obviously really want him to succeed but my expectations are zero at this point.
  22. Personally I've long since soured on the '83s, so I'm glad this officially bumps them. Time to move on.
