Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
But again, the "risk" is that Jerry or the org as a whole has to pay him next year too. That's it. We aren't giving up top projected talent. And he's had a consistent career of being aces with this year being a decided down year. There are countless players that have down year in the middle of a strong career. Hell, we tried to run Konerko out of town at one point. I would rather take on the risk of this year and next year's contract if it only means money. Yes, I'm assuming Ishbia is making more financial decisions here and it isn't all how Jerry has always worked, but one of these moves has to signal the transition to taking a risk on contracts rather than selling all of our prospects.

I'm honestly shocked that people are clutching their pearls over 1. the money and the contracts! and 2. Seranthony has figured it out! It's not our money. I don't care if it costs a little bit more - we have so much more revenue this year from being good, Ishbia is writing checks now, and I don't care if Jerry loses money if it doesn't work out Someone else can be fooled into thinking Seranthony has figured it out. He's due way too much money to walk the first batter of every single relief appearance. This is a low risk move for us. Yes, Boston is a fun prospect to watch but that's the risk of trying to get better now. I like this move up and down.

I'm glad that some other team has been fooled into thinking Seranthony has "restored his form" and taken him from us. He is who he has always been. Distinctly remember a Philly fan friend talking about how he'll give you a heart attack with his walks and keep you on a tightrope. I don't need that in our bullpen.

LOVE this move. Seattle's SPs are stupid good, love their development over there. I would've taken any one of them, and the costs seems light.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
I just wish we could balance that with some outfield talent. Obviously the answer is to make some trades. What's the going rate on the trade market for outfield value vs. infield value this year? Like are infielders more valued and puts us in a position to get a better outfielder?

Jerry would approve this move as a cost-saving measure as he wouldn't have to pay full price for the tiny pants Ray wears.

At what point do we start to believe?
Did anyone share if there's a "jump to last unread post" button like they used to have? I'm exclusively on the phone. I can't seem to find that since the update and it really impacts my Soxtalk consumption; I want to pick up where I left off in a thread, not just go to the most recent post and have to arrow backwards. But I'm also an idiot and I'm probably just missing it.

Sosa traded to Blue Jays for minor league OF Jordan Rich and PTBNL
I have no stats to back this to and they may not even have the same player profile, but I've always thought Sosa was destined to be the latest Eduardo Escobar. A player the Sox don't know that to do with, move on from too early, and then goes on to have a productive career for a few other teams. I guess now we get to see what happens.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
I was at Dick's in the west suburbs last week and popped in looking for Sox gear. I saw two full sections of cubs, full wall of Blackhawks, all of the Bears and Bulls stuff... and three women's shirts for Sox. I asked a kid that worked there where the Sox section was and he just shrugged and said there was no Sox section. They genuinely had more German national soccer team gear than White Sox gear. We're losing (or already lost) the next generation of fans. We need a reason to be in the stores, and for people to see the brand and support the team. Getting this stadium right is key.

White Sox acquired RHPs Jordan Hicks and David Sandlin from BOS

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I can't imagine the Yankees are even contemplating Robert. Bellinger is their target, the talks are at a stalemate after the weekend, and these other names are being bandied about as leverage. This is just posturing, in my opinion.

Don't worry, he's loading up a post to name at least 20+ current players we should target in FA or trades.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
I get that in principle but I feel like that only works when it's a report about an interesting team. If even we don't believe it as delusional fans, what rational opposing team owner is going to feel threatened by this report?
