  1. Well in some positive news, Ramos looks like a dude
  2. Needs more beard that he added this year
  3. That's fair. But if I can watch every single one of my 10 year old nephew's games on a live webcast, you'd think a Major League franchise should do the same.
  4. Minor pet peeve that always gets to me: when someone takes a photo of a two-dimensional subject (usually a TV screen but in this case the lineup card) at an angle instead of head-on. Anyway, go Sox I guess.
  5. I never got to experience it but I assumed that was a reference, yeah. Also reminds me of Philadelphia. Thought how cool this moment would have been with us and then I made myself feel bad again.
  6. I was on this same side until I saw that photo from inside the stadium. The three-tiered/stacked RF bleachers looks really cool. I'm still leery of what the pretty pictures may turn into once the pencils need to be sharpened, and fear that green space turns into characterless concrete, but I'll hold out hope.
  7. Can you expand on this Miami Dolphins ownership group thing? I'm entirely unfamiliar with them (aside from the allusions to the owner of Related Midwest being an international criminal). Are you suggesting that partners in this development deal may also be lining up for the possible team sale/purchase?
  8. I don't want to be a buzzkill but it's kind of underwhelming, once I get over the initial excitement? Like, the renderings look... good, not great? And then also consider that what we see in the renderings vs. what we actually get is usually way less exciting (go back and look at what the new Rangers stadium was supposed to be). It doesn't look like much outfield seating and no outfield terrace. And the terraced steps outside left field looks like an awful waste of space. I do think the concourse outside of centerfield could be really cool with restaurants etc, especially if they can get a permit to enclose the area and make it open container.
  9. Found the one page I was thinking of, it's 9 years old now. I don't know who this person is but I liked some of the concepts. There's one that's literally just our current logo and unis with red trim that wouldn't be a huge departure. https://clumsytuba.wordpress.com/2015/04/22/white-sox-uniform-concept-updates/
  10. Does Camelback Ranch do dynamic pricing for Dodgers and/or Sox games? Because I can see them justifying $40 for a Dodgers team that people want to see. Really not sure how gate receipts work at that facility, would be interested if others have information on how that relationship works.
  11. Getting ahead of ourselves but it might be the next logical step: does a new stadium and a new ownership group also lead to logo rebranding? Remember, new Comiskey ushered in the current logo and colors we all love (pretty sure opening day of the new park was the first day in the new unis). Like many, I love our logo and don't really want a change. But there was a fan mockup a few years ago that added red as a tertiary color to the current setup that I really liked, mostly red piping or outlining. Wasn't a big change, just an upgrade to the existing stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to see a change to our logo to really overhaul the image and perception for the organization to go along with a shiny new facility and ownership.
  12. I enjoy seeing that their fanbase is similarly unenthused about Merrifield. Kindred spirits.
  13. The bolded part for me. I get that he's an employee and needs to respect his employer (and other employees ie players), but I at least want the appearance of independent thought and willingness to call things what they are. You can do your job well, respect who writes your paychecks, and still have the ability to say it out loud how the fan sees it.
  14. Looks like this is his first real announcing job aside from minor stuff like covid KBO games. Benetti didn't have *much more* experience when he came in but did have the minor league background. None of the finalists excited me, but I know the least about this guy so that means the most room to grow. Hopefully it works out and this guy is worth a shot.
  15. When it comes down to it, they're probably going with the highest bidder, regardless of local ties or not. Ultimately it's a business decision.
  16. For all we say about ex-Royals, think about what Braves fans are saying about us right now. Bummer trade, Reynaldo Lopez signing, Leury, now Yolbert, must be missing another one
  17. Not misspelled but Chicago'd - Roberts.
  18. Boooooooooo *inhales* -oooooooooo, Connor. Anyone but Connor. Guy is a wet blanket, so uninspiring as an announcer.
  19. Coming from someone living in Boston, the entire city is built on fill. Fenway Park is in the Back Bay neighborhood - because that area was literally the back of the bay, underwater. The entire commercial district of Boston used to be water. This is achievable.
