  1. I like it. He throws with his left-hand correct? Perfect
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 10:23 AM) Well, that's reasonably exciting news, no matter how you feel about moving Alexei. The Dodgers have a good system. Though, admittedly, I'm not sure how DEEP it is. Alexei isn't going to net the famous guys up top, I don't think. I wouldn't be so sure. Hahn has no reason to move Alexei just to move him, he's out preforming his contract and there is a definite market for SS.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 10:19 AM) https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/534741629630812160 Wow us, Dodgers. Please be Joc, please be Joc
  4. http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/keith-law/...op2014prospects Noted Danish critic Keith Law had him in the "other contenders" for Prospect of the Year! I am shocked
  5. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...filiates-swept/ Recap posted. Terrible, awful, no good night for the Sox prospects. But at least I got to use the use the word "encapsulates."
  6. Jim Callis ‏@jimcallisMLB 2h Cubs, no doubt. Sox making progress too. @QuickJones81: which Chicago core of players would you rather have, the @Cubs or @WhiteSox? Callis apparently thinks Cubs.
  7. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...mien-stays-hot/ Recap posted. Semien appears ready for round two in Chicago.
  8. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...re-for-knights/ Recap posted. Sorry for the delay.
  9. Damn. I'll eat my words, the Sox always shock me with how aggressive they are with assignments.
  10. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...hutout-brewers/ Martinez and relievers bright spot in otherwise meh day.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 21, 2014 -> 10:23 AM) I was actually more talking about next season since the minor league season is almost over. Oh, I was referring to the last few weeks of the season and playoffs. Anderson has been in Arizona for a week now, has to be getting close to a return.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 21, 2014 -> 09:50 AM) I'd say the decision is both easy and hard. Easy in that it is clear that both need to be on different teams because both can be ML shortstops. Hard in that Anderson is probably a little ahead of Rondon in physical and offensive maturity, though not defensively. With only 300 High-A at-bats, do the Sox really think Anderson is ready for AA? His performance in the AFL will probably go a long way in determining how the Sox handle both players. If Anderson does well in the AFL, then it is probably Anderson in AA and Rondon staying in High-A. If Anderson struggles, then the it becomes more dicey. I think that would be highly unusually to promote someone straight off of a rehab assignment, especially when his old team is fighting for a playoff spot. The difficult decision I was referring to was what to do with Rondon, either keep him at SS and have Anderson replace Basto at DH, or split SS, or possibly a temporary move to 3B or 2B? I would hate to see Rondon get demoted after his success with the Dash, we will see.
  13. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...r-the-playoffs/ Recap posted. Tim Anderson homered again in his rehab assignment, with the way Cleuluis Rondon is hitting, the Sox have a tough decision to make.
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 20, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) Nathaniel Stoltz 8m @stoltz_baseball: Seriously, Carolina League pitchers: Never throw an offspeed pitch in the zone to Courtney Hawkins. Just don't. Ever. Not sure if that is a compliment or not...
  15. Great interview! He sounds like a very smart and humble guy.
  16. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 06:31 PM) Ravelo HR (11) God damn I love Ravelo. The power is coming on!

  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) Gotta see Montas or Adams in the AZL, right? Adams probably. I think Montas pitched on their double-header Wednesday.

  20. QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 02:29 PM) haha i would've loved to about 6 months ago; but now i've got a 3 month old son Congratulations!
  21. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) He did not need that pitch to be successful in college so there was no use in having it. He will need it to be elite and seeing yesterday's results it seems like it may not be far off. Once Coop throws the cutter in there...... I agree, I am just pointing out that the organization can't simultaneously say he's ready for the majors and then say he has to do major work on a secondary offer he barely threw in college. I suppose since they said his change-up will make him "elite" he could be just average right now without it. Which I believe, he could be a great bullpen guy right now with just his fastball-slider combo. But why would you make him learn a change-up at the major league level when he could be doing that in the minors?
  22. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...ights-full-day/ Recap posted. Dominant start from Rodon highlights busy day.
  23. QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 04:57 AM) my takeaways from tonight AAA: - Avi is still hitting while striking out and getting ready to come back up. - Wilkins continue to hit 2/3 tonight with another double and a BB, Really want to see what he can do in an extended look at the major league level, even if he flames out and is nothing more than a AAAA player, the sox would be well served in finding out if he can be a serviceable DH and 1B backup. - Semien started at SS tonight and then was moved to LF and Sanchez took over for him. How do people feel about Semien starting left field for this team next year? if we don't land Castillo or Rasmus? - Sanchez continues to hit 2/4 tonight and still over .300 for the season over .400 his last ten. Really hoping he can develop into Erik Aybar for this organization that would be a welcome sight. - Davidson 2/4 with a HR and no strikeouts tonight still over .200 AA - Rangel 3/5 with a BB, a HR shy of the cycle and back at 3B for game one. Is there anything to read into this? Looking forward to when he eventually gets to AAA. Nice article from the 12th on our other Cuban first basemen link, - Thompson 3/7 with a K. What is the boards take on him? are we looking at a best case scenario 4th outfielder? he will only be 24 at the start of next season but his last two years he has stagnated at AA and there hasn't been much improvement from his first go around where he hit .280. This year his K% and BB% are trending in the right direction from last year but not by leaps and bounds. - Kevan Smith 1/3 with a K. Another interesting guy in the sox org that doesn't get much if any talk. He has hit and hit well every year he has been with the sox he is just older just turned 26 this past june. Does anyone have a read on his defensive ability? are we looking at a best case scenario a respectable back up here or something more along the lines of AJ Ellis / Robinson Chirinos? A+ - Carlos Rodon, I was just reading that Rodon's last strikeout was on 3 change ups...nasty. - Rondon has hit well at A+ 3/4 tonight. I wouldn't mind seeing him start there next year and possibly get a sip of coffee at AAA next year if he can make the biggest jump in all of baseball to AA and perform admirably. - Hawkins and Barnum more of the same hope they can both pull themselves out of the cooler they've been in lately and end on a strong note for the year. Interested in writing recaps for futuresox? Haha
  24. Freudenberg has given up two runs but has struck out six over three innings. Toby Thomas continues to hit, 1-1
  25. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 12:55 PM) Trey promoted to WS, that team is gonna be ridiculous to follow for the rest of the season Nice to actually have some real life depth at the lower levels of our system.
