If you go purely off of MLB Pipeline's top 100 prospects, Yankees have six players and White Sox have six players. Yankees: #15, #17, #18, #22, #51, and #78. White Sox: #1, #3, #30, #38, #58, and #80.

The "other" prospects in the Sale deal - Basabe & Diaz
royoung replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 12:33 AM) I'm weirdly very excited about Basabe. Like in my head for some reason I keep thinking his ceiling (I'm talking max skill) is something like Mike Cameron. .260 hitter with 20-25 HR, 20-25 SB, plus defense. Except Cameron has better plate discipline with BB and K rates. He is completely overshadowed by Moncada/Kopech, but dude is a legit prospect. Loud tools and if he puts up numbers in 2017 I'd expect to see start popping up on the back ends of top 100 lists. -
His in game power never developed. I remember talking to a scout who would swear he could bomb them in BP and he was going to a monster.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 7, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) How is Rymer supposed to be with the glove? I could definitely see him starting in LF next season if this is a full rebuild I know before his Tommy John surgery he was regarded as a strong defender who could play all three OF position with a plus arm. After the injuries and missing all of 2016 he is a bit of an unknown to how his body responded, but it is encouraging he is putting up strong numbers in the Dominican Republic.

I would flipflop Adams and Hansen in the top 5 for sure. The back end of the top 10 is a big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Interview with Matt Zaleski, Pitching Coach for Great Falls
royoung replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) Rob Young @RobertHYoung 19h19 hours ago Under Zaleski's watch, the @gfvoyagers pitchers led the Pioneer League in ERA, WHIP, K's, SHO's and the least BB's, H's, and HR's I should also note the team ERA (3.54) was the best in the Pioneer League since 2003. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 10:18 AM) Actually no, they are still in the regular season. Still are tonight too. Playoffs start Friday. Correct. They will face Billings in a best of three playoff series. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2016/...-snapped-at-15/

Interview with Matt Zaleski, Pitching Coach for Great Falls
royoung replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 05:37 PM) I took this from the Pioneer League website today: After naming its All-Star team Monday, the Pioneer League unveiled its Most Valuable Player and Pitcher of the Year on Tuesday. Rookie-level Idaho Falls catcher Meibrys Viloria took home the 2016 Ralph Nelles Award as the circuit's MVP, while Great Falls right-hander Aron McRee was named the 2016 Logan Hurlburt Pitcher of the Year. Viloria led the league with a .381 batting average, 28 doubles and 54 RBIs and finished second behind Ogden's DJ Peters with a 1.061 OPS and tied for second with 53 runs scored with Aaron Schnurbusch; both trailed Peters' league-leading 62. Viloria started behind the plate in the All-Star Game against the Northwest League and represented the circuit in the Home Run Derby. McRee won the circuit ERA title in a runaway, finishing 5-0 with a 2.16 ERA. His six walks were the fewest among qualifiers, and he struck out 54 batters over 66 2/3 innings. His two home runs allowed trailed only Great Falls' Yosmer Solorzano, who gave up one in 81 frames. Chris Tripodi is an editor for MiLB.com. Follow him on Twitter @christripodi. This story wa No argument here he deserved accolades for his performance. He has impressive control and his ERA was very good, but a good comparison might be that the Heisman Trophy winner in College Football isn't always taken early in the NFL draft. He had so-so numbers from a DII school and his 54 strikeouts and 57 hits allowed over 66.2 innings and .228 batting average against suggest he wasn't blowing rookie level hitters away. I am not saying he is a bum or doesn't have a chance, he is just a long shot. But again, hats off to Zaleski for getting the most of his guys, multiple examples with Hansen, Solorzano, and McRee. -
Interview with Matt Zaleski, Pitching Coach for Great Falls

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Good stuff about Hansen but a little disappointed there's nothing about Aron McRee . In hindsight, I wish I threw in a question about McRee, just because of how amazing he has been as a UDFA. However, the interview was running long and McRee is a long shot to do much at the higher levels. Though his success is another testament to how well Zaleski is doing. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 10:10 AM) Not sure he'd qualify as a sleeper. I guess it depends on your definition. He's been on the back end of our Top 30 for a few cycles now. Though I admit I don't see him on any other lists. He lacks velo, and I am guessing that scares some folks off. Or at least that was the report last year - he's still a teenager and he had a pretty low-effort delivery, so it's possible he's added a few ticks this year. I don't have any local reports to work from. Talked with Matt Zaleski (GF pitching coach) about Solorzano a couple weeks ago. That interview should be up soon at FutureSox.

http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2016/...dramatic-clash/ Recap posted. Knights win to set up dramatic clash, Stephens keeps racking up K's, and Solorzano spearheads 2nd no-hitter.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) Grab the man an outfielder glove. He is 220 pounds and has stolen one base in 2016 between college and the pros. He has what scouts lovingly call a "catchers body." If he can't stick at catcher he is a 1B/DH for sure. Personally, I think he will end up catching a few days a week and being a C/1B/DH hybrid. He should platoon with a strong defensive catcher type like Omar Narvaez.

More optimistic on Zack Burdi. Nate: Any chance that Zach Burdi is a starter? Klaw: Yes, a small chance, but a definite chance.
-
Keith Law's thoughts on Zack Collins defense. Nate: Zack Collins is start at HiA has been pretty solid. Any reports on his catching? Klaw: He’s not a catcher. He’ll hit his way to the majors at another position.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) And wow Solorzano. Threw a Maddux, struck out 10 and walked no one. I think a Maddux requires a CG shutout with less than 100 pitches.

QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) Great article, thanks! Any news why he hasn't been playing the last week or so? The draft is turning out to be one of--if not the only--bright spot of the season. Just over the first 4 rounds we added legit potential for a: He tweaked his shoulder diving for a ball in the outfield last week. Very similar to what he did earlier in the year. I'd expect him back sometime this weekend.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) Is Fisher injured again? He aggravated his shoulder diving for a ball in the outfield. Similar to what he did earlier in the year, but he told me it was less severe. I'd expect him back any day now.
