I have a feeling that this thing is going to be buried by the XBOX 360 and PS3...

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) I don't understand what is wrong with the microchip? Why not just use that? It is not that expensive either. Where is the improvement over that? The microchip can only be "read" by vets and the humane society and only gives information like your name and address. If your neighbor up the road found your dog with no tags and decided to keep him, you'd never know. From what I understand, this invention would allow you to check a website and find out exactly where your dog is at. Assuming the tracking device is still on.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) yeah, I roll over alot when I sleep I've been told, and that would just make it like sleeping in a raft on the ocean. Actually the waveless matresses aren't too bad. It's still the waterbed feel without a lot of the sloshing around. I have found recently that it's not easy to find sheets for them anymore. I don't know what I'll do if I ever have to buy a new matress or heater. I need new railing covers as it is...

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 04:53 AM) I was waiting for the CTA bus outside school today with some kid whom, for whatever reason, decided to wear khaki shorts. I don't know--perhaps he didn't notice the snow, or the bitter cold once he exited his residence, but it was ridiculous. What's funny is the bus took nearly 15 minutes to arrive where we were. I laughed, all snuggled up in a thermal jacket and thick black stocking hat. I've seen lots of people wearing shorts in the middle of winter. Just last week I saw somebody wearing SANDALS with NO SOCKS in the middle of a snowstorm.

QUOTE(mreye @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) While I wouldn't need / use it for my current dog, it's a very good idea. This would work like a GPS then? I thought the chip was different in that it doesn't "track" your dog, but once your dog is found, they can then identify it. PS, I now own www.wheresfido.com That's exactly what the chip does. It also replaces (in a sense) the tags that dogs are supposed to have but inevitably lose between your yard and the pound.

I have a siberian husky and that breed is notorious for being escape artists. I'd have to take off my shoes and socks to count the number of times he's gotten out. I think the people at the humane society are starting to know me by name. The last time he got out I found the door of his kennel pushed IN so I think he's getting a little "help" from an asshole neighbor. That only dropped my fine to $50 when I had to go to court because of it... Anyway, this product might help if I could be sure that it would actually stay on him. I've gone through a dozen or so collar because he keeps breaking them. I finally had to put a chain with a padlock around his neck and haven't had any problems.

I think I'm one of the last 10 people in America that still has a waterbed. Have had one since I was ten years old. Everytime I sleep on a regular matress I wake up with a sore back...

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) I'd like to add perhaps the most logically-flawed, common sense-devoid script ever produced: Maximum Overdrive. I believe Stephen King was really bored when he wrote that story. In his defense, the book was at least a little bit better. I liked the ending better in the book too.

I've been seriously looking at getting one of these things but I'm really reluctant to spend $300-$600 on a vacuum. On the other hand, I figure I've probably spent at least that much already on the last 3 POS ones I've bought in the past couple years. So if these new Dyson vacuums are as good as advertised it might be worth the investment. Supposedly they never lose suction. Every other vacuum we've ever owned has sucked. Or not sucked I guess...

QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Uh uh...Shawshank and Christmas Story are PHENOMINAL! Never said they were bad movies. Just ones that are shown on TV an awful lot.

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Jim is that way with that Last Action Hero movie. Hates it.. but stops on it every time it's on. :banghead I actually kinda liked that movie because it made fun of so many hollywood cliches. "I shot that car, how come it didn't blow up?"

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) I loved Secret Window with Johnny Depp but apparently everyone else in the world thought it blew. Like many other movies based on a Stephen King book they butchered the story. I'm scared to see what they will do with 'Desperation' or 'From a Buick 8'.

QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) I believe that "Footloose" may be the dumbest/worst movie ever. That said, how come whenever it's on tv, I can't not watch it? I believe it ranks up there with a Christmas Story, Over the Top and Shawshank Redemtion. It's one of those movies you've seen a million times before but just can't help stopping on it while channel-surfing.

Napolean Dynamite - Not sure this one counts considering how huge it has become but I think what makes it funny is the the fact that it's such a bad movie. Freeway - The movie that first introduced me to Reese Witherspoon. Also starred Keifer Sutherland and Brooke Shields but I'd never even heard of it until I saw it on TV one day. Hot to Trot - It has Bob Goldthwait and a talking horse. What more do you need? Mitchell - OK, if you've even heard of this movie you're a MST3K fan.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) I think Walgreen is following the best course of helping those people get licensed in a state where they can refuse to aid in an abortion. Is it really considered an abortion if the cells haven't even started to split yet???

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) New York Times Link Instead of heading to the Doctors office, I wonder if we could just web cast a session, form a message board to discuss treatment, maybe post some links to addiction recovery sites . . . I think there are actually websites out there for this exact reason. It's pretty much like having an AA meeting in a bar...

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 06:27 AM) For some reason, the GTA thing looks cheesy to me. But there's a lot of you that like it. It's not for everyone but it's really the first game that opened up huge a free-roaming city in GTA:Vice City. In San Andreas they expanded it to 3 entire cities plus some addition countryside. You can literally hop in a plane/jet/helicopter and spend 10 minutes flying from one edge of your boundary to the other. The freedom in the game is really the best part about it and other games have been starting to copy the idea.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) My girlfriend talked me into renting Kingdom Hearts a while ago, and I became addicted to that. Its a great game, even if its just Disney characters. Its a very good rpg game for PS2, and I've heard a newer version is coming out soon. My kids got it somehow (I think a friend gave it to them) and decided it was too difficult so they kept asking me to help them get through certain parts of it. I ended up starting my own save file and finished the entire game. The only thing part I haven't finished is beating that last guy in the tournament on the Hercules level. I thought Kingdom Hearts 2 would be out by now but I haven't heard anything about it for quite awhile. It's supposed to pick up a year after the first one ended with Kingdom Hearts : Chain of Memories for GBA filling in the time in between.

Thomas/Belle was good but Frank had a better year in 97 while Belle had a monster year in 98. I thought the Thomas/Konerko earlier this year when Frank was actually playing was pretty scary.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Thome is still a 500AB guy He can also back up Konerko when needed. Plus, if Frank's foot isn't 100%, he wouldn't be playing that much anyway. Just a thought...

I think there is a chance they still bring Frank back in a platoon role with Thome. Check out their splits. Frank hits better against lefties and Thome hits better against righites.
