  1. Jack, Maybe Sox traded Sale for Kopech and Basabe, and Moncada and Diaz were throw-ins.
  2. And I quit on Fulmer, but not Moncada. I can't see Fulmer taking a 40 man roster spot next year
  3. Is Tyler Saladino the odd man out in Milwaukee?
  4. Danish currently not on 40 man. If he stays off, he will probably be selected by somebody in Rule 5. Might as well bring him up now, given recent success. Then, if he gets lit up, he'll be gone.
  5. Probably little value/interest- unless a first baseman somewhere gets hurt between now and Tuesday afternoon.
  6. Big lead, get an inning for two other pitchers.
  7. I don't like to overtly criticize a Sox player. But, Volstad has no business on this or any ML team. Especially this team.
  8. Probably money. I have no idea what it costs to have another Rookie League team. Great question, tho.
  9. 2 points: 1) We gave Tatis $700-$800,000 bonus to sign. Why not let him play one year to see what we have? 2) I assume Paddy approved the signing, since he was in charge of Latin American scouting activities. Was he consulted on the subsequent Shields trade? What did he say? If he said "No, don't trade him" or words to that effect, then it is really on Hahn.
  10. Or, What? Not much; just some off season criticism. If he does well at Kanny, there shouldn't be any critical comments.
  11. Uh, two big time players from the same draft class. One got off to a blazing pro start, the other has not. If we had drafter Beer, everyone here would be excited. Madrigal has 6 weeks to show us something. A few years ago, Cubs drafted Schwarber, and he hit a ton in minors. Tough to ignore. Who did we draft? Fulmer? Greensox and I share the same paranoia.
  12. Dexter Fowler with a routine strikeout. What a bad contract. Cards still owe him another $49 Million next 3 years. Great GM's are everywhere.
  13. Big enough to give him at least one year of OB.
  14. He was unranked because he had not played yet. We gave him $800,000ish bonus.
  15. Actually, you are wrong. IF, as you said, IF Tatis is a star, it will be the worst trade in Chi history. Not second worst. Remember, Brock had a couple of years with the Cubs, and Broglio had some success with Cards prior to trade. Without a crystal ball, there was a slight argument for the trade. Very slight. Of course, Broglio was hurt and Cubs were too stupid to see that, and Brock was still very young, and it is now history. Everyone knew Shields was hurt and had no chance. Tatis trade will probably surpass the Brock trade.
