If you were Rick Hahn...
QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 21, 2017 -> 12:42 AM) Blemish. That was a great move by them. They have a stadium and didn't pay for it. Imagine the payroll for the players if the sox were paying for the stadium as well. that's like blaming the players for the money the owners give them. You get what you can get when you can get it. Someone please tell me again the terms of the new stadium.

I think the Tigers will finish the season unwon.

I'll say this, both Phillies and Giants are hustling and playing hard. I'm not saying that they are very good, but they are competing.

Sox vs Det, Lopez vs Jaye
QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Sep 16, 2017 -> 11:28 PM) nearing .270? .263 is nowhere near .270 this late in a season. still can't walk to save his life he has to hit well over .300 to have good offensive value. Not true, considering his speed, power.

Sox v. Tigers @ 6:10PM
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Sep 15, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) Fulmer's delivery just looks awful to me. Rushed, no leg drive, all arm whip. Agree. Why did we draft him so high? Same criticism back then.

Trade avi in the offseason?
As of today, Avi has the second highest BA in all of baseball. .333.

Yoan just hit a homer!
QUOTE (ecupittfan @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 07:49 PM) You mean you dont want to trade a 26 y.o. All Star OF going into the prime of their career for a career .250 minor league hitter who has 9 MLB hits so far and is only 3 years younger. Not to mention Avi is a good teammate. Lets put it into perspective. Today Avi got 55% of the total hits that Kelly has in his MLB career. Seems like a really good trade idea. What we need to do is give Avi a decent 4-5 year deal and wrap him up for the prime of his career. Ditto. If we make a stupid trade involving Avi for some guy who has never made it, well, I'll just call it Tatis Part !!. Dumb and Dumber.

2018 MLB Draft
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 08:34 AM) We seriously need to get past this. They weren't rebuilding yet when they made that trade. It happened. It's over. Not just referring to you hi8is but just the posts about Tatis in general. IIRC, they went into the re-building mode right after the Tatis trade. What month did they trade Tatis? I'm sure it was fairly late in the 2016 season. Then, Sale was traded early December, 2016 Regardless, the trade made no sense at the time. Hahn had a brain cramp.

Are we allowed to get nervous about Moncada at this point?
He'll be better in 2018 and really good in 2019. Must improve on hitting breaking ball, and he will. He and Anderson might be a super combo very soon.

Avi Hot streak
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 4, 2017 -> 09:20 AM) I think Avi has made some real strides this year with the bat, but I definitely don't think he's someone you build around. His offensive profile still has too many question marks, I worry about his overall game if he were to add weight/lose speed as he ages, we're deep with minor league OFs, & we're going to have a f***ton of money in the coming years and I'd like to aim a little higher with that money than a 2-3 WAR player who doesn't play a premium up-the-middle position. I'd shop him like crazy this offseason and seriously consider any deal headlined by a top 100 prospect. If not, I'd be ok with holding him into next year, but I don't see him as part of our next good team. I think Sox need a lot more than a Top 100 Prospect for Avi. A lot more.

Avi Hot streak
QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Sep 3, 2017 -> 11:50 PM) Are you saying I don't know who he is? I was probably the biggest vocal opponent to that trade although I certainly wasn't the only one. Weird how threads disappear on this site so you can't see anyone's track record of being right or wrong. Was right about Devers being the top guy to get from Boston, Delmonico being biggest sleeper before the season, Eaton trade being amazing, etc second biggest.

Yurchak v. Schnurbusch
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 1, 2017 -> 04:32 AM) May have missed it, was there a reason Yurchak transferred? And, why did he last so long before being picked?

Coop to the mound. The new uniforms don't make him look any slimmer. I wonder if he publishes his diet.

Delmonico overcame adderall addiction
This issue goes back to when a Doc originally prescribes this stuff for kids. Or OVER prescribes is what I meant. Sounds like Delmonico was mis-prescribed, and an unnecessary addiction ensued.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 06:37 PM) nicky ribeye really needs to stop dropping the bat on 3 ball counts when he thinks it's a walk. Umps really don't like it. Yesterday he did it and there were 3 straight Ks with the bases loaded from a pitcher who doesn't K many. The strike zone will change after he does it. Agree.

Catchers
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 08:09 PM) I think this is the hardest position to fill in baseball. Will we ever see another Munson or Fisk? Who was better between those two guys? I say Fisk.

8/21/2017 Twins @ White Sox
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Aug 21, 2017 -> 09:59 PM) I don't like unloading on any player especially one of our current or former highly touted prospects, but I am having a hard time seeing Fulmer as a major league pitcher. He has not been able to develop a controlled delivery, something that is necessary for getting rhythm and consistency on the mound. He doesn't even look good out there. Very disappointed seeing this tonight after all the inning he has thrown down in the minors. I just did not see any progress at all. no poise on the mound, no control. I hope I am wrong, but it looks like picking him in the first round was a major mistake. I watched the Fulmer implosion. First inning was great. First hitter up in second inning (Vargus?) kept fouling off pitches after pitch, finally getting his walk. Those were good pitches. Then finally the walk, and it was all over. If I could sense it watching on TV, I'm sure the Twins could, too.
