  1. This is the second year in a row that the Sox Top International pick is a third baseman. I can't remember the name of last year's top pick. I do remember that he was immediately in the team's Top 30 Prospect list, and I also know he didn't hit very well in the DSL. I believe he got more money than Cruz. How does Cruz compare to that guy? Is he (2024 pick) still in the organization?
  2. and his arb payout got a little pricey.
  3. well said.
  4. It appears as if Sox have given up on Corey Lee.
  5. Lets see how this looks in 9 months. We gave up a guy who could very well be the best pitcher in the league.
  6. Let's hope he gets off to a better start than last year. If so, he'll be fine.
  7. Sox will likely go with a 14 man pitching staff.
  8. Correct. LA is set with Edman in Center. They don't need Robert.
  9. I can see why another team would be interested in Combs. 7 + innings at Kanny with 13 K's last year. Two years in SEC showed a ton of strikeouts. Sox gave him $250 K to sign. I don't get it.
  10. We signed him when he was very young, he started his career in DSL, he made it to the White Sox, he stayed in MLB for several years..... he's probably the best player Sox ever signed who came up that way.
  11. Yolbert might be the best player we ever got out of the DSL that we signed.
  12. Like the guy we signed last year? Can't remember his name. Third baseman from Venezuela.
  13. Schultz prob threw that many innings in High School.
  14. A fly ball was hit right at him {Fletcher}, and he fell down. Official scored called it a triple. Worse than Judge in the WS. Another time he went back for a fly ball to deep center, and he somehow pushed the ball over the wall. Official Scored called it a home run.
  15. Fletcher made a couple of nice plays in Right Field, and he made a couple of horrible plays in Center. Neither one of them showed any promise as a hitter. Vargas was days from a trip to minors when Getz came along and rescued him. Neither one would make any other team in MLB.
  16. That addiction will pass someday.
  17. I bet Fajardo was well scouted by Boston, and they know as much as our guys know about this young pitcher, including the size of his signing bonus a year ago. Color me skeptical. Plus, it frees up a roster spot for Boston.
  18. I sure hope that is the case. There is no one else on the team who I would like to see play shortstop on a regular basis.
  19. He hides his disappointment very well.
  20. A couple other pro athletes have had growth spurts late. David Robinson comes to mind.
  21. I'm trying to re-imagine the White Sox outfield without Robert in CF. ERA's will go straight up. They'll start the season with rosy-cheeked Dom Fletcher out there, and that will be a defensive disaster without any offense. Then, what is Plan B? I can only guess. Colas? Then there is Plan C. Probably an extra middle infielder who can't hit well enough to play the infield for Sox. Plan D then would be another try with Fletcher. Oops, there goes another mis-play. I know one pitcher on the 2024 Sox who won't miss him. Now we're up to Plan E. Well, we have two guys in the minors who can handle the gig defensively, Burke and Zavala. Might as well bring one of them up.
  22. Naylor will miss hitting against the White Sox.
  23. Trade difficult to assess. Montgomery needs to play a full season. Teel looks legitimate. Meidroth is valuable only if he is better than Sosa, which no none knows. Gonzalez has not shown that he belongs in MLB. Crochet, if healthy, figures to win a lot of games for Boston and prob lead the league in K's in 2025. My prediction is that the only way this trade works is if Montgomery blossoms into a legitimate starting outfielder.
  24. Is it possible he peaked before the DSL?
