  1. All it took was Tommy Pham, Danny Mendick and Bryan Ramos not hitting like the worst team of all time for Greg to go from "horrendous" to "Getz magic"
  2. In this case, I #StandUpForSchriffen
  3. I think you're being sarcastic, but just in case you're not, Remillard is 30 years old
  4. I'm ready to see Danny Mendick move from emergency catcher to backup catcher.

  6. Thinking history of SoxTalk has made me realize that some GOAT trolls have came and went. Some of you weren't even here for the Marty or Victory days.
  7. I see Getz reads SoxTalk game threads. I don't even like Fletcher and I don't understand why RF isn't one of Fletcher/Colas/DeLoach. This is literally the year to see what you've got. Meanwhile, I feel like I missed Mendick's return. When the f*** did that happen?
  8. Fun fact: Of rookies with at least 50 plate appearances, Korey Lee has the highest average at .309 (6th in OBP). Of all MLB hitters with at least 50 plate appearances, Maldonado has the 5th worst average and 5th worst OBP. Fun fact: Shewmake has the worst OBP.
  9. Brought to you by Nationwide insurance
  10. Remember, the Yankee image is too pure for long hair, facial hair (sans well kept mustaches), or City Connect uniforms.
  11. I remembered Kelenic starting off the year scorching and forgot about him. Did he kaboom his foot again or is he just bad?

    This is a fun rundown.
  13. I've only ever seen Harold positively cite advanced metrics once and that's why it sticks out in my memory so much.
  14. Well, a bit of a difference: Rick Hahn couldn't develop talent, but the man could absolutely sell his talent at a premium. I've banged the drum 1,000 times that those same prospects tear up this league with a different organization. If you want to see how a different org handles a tear down, please go look at the Marlins sell off of the Yelich-era Marlins. We don't know how Getz will handle selling off at a deadline. He, supposedly, had the entire market to himself with Cease and failed to get a headlining bat prospect. Somehow, the Bummer trade is a net negative with Lopez, Shewmake and Soroka all being massive detriments. Angels were possibly the most desperate an MLB team has been in decades because they needed to keep Ohtani at all costs once they decided to keep him. Hahn was getting clowned for Lee, with people saying it was Hahn looking at MLB Pipeline's org Top 30s and picking a name. Lynn and Kelly is just the Dodgers taking an L because everyone thought Lynn would be fine away from the Sox and Kelly was familiar with the Dodgers.
  15. I'd take Jac if he falls to #5 and let him be a 2-way player as long as it's viable. Otherwise, pass on first base types in the first round. Contention isn't imminent, so live with Vaughn/Sheets for this year, see if Elko can build patience at the plate, or pray another dude flashes power and arrives. Wild card: Danny Mendick alters his swing, becomes our power hitting first baseman.
  16. Well, pretended he did. Martin Maldonado was here.
  17. The Guardians, Royals and Twins would all lead the AL West. Now this is partially fueled by the Royals and Twins beating the s%*# out of the Sox, but they're a horrible defensive team that can't hit*. They wouldn't ever sniff contention, let alone with a slapdash rotation of Crochet, Fedde, ReyLo, Clevinger and, I guess, Flexen. The Sox likely never turn ReyLo into a starer. Fedde looks like his KBO transformation was the real deal, but it needs to hold up. Clevinger has had approximately 1 bad start. Crochet is rolling, but we need to see how his arm holds up over 162. *Before you say "they couldn't hit, but then they brought in Tommy Pham, Ramos and Danny Mendick! Pham is gonna come down to Earth unless he's found some late career, 36-year-old magic - and that doesn't happen since we left the 90s. Ramos is a rookie who will have occasional struggles. And I love Danny Mendick dating back to his "we love this guy in our farm system because his name makes us laugh" days and was bummed when Haseley took him out because he was putting it together but Mendick is just not a dude who can carry an offense.

When I'm using the PS5 app, I just scroll down and all of the Sox-affiliate games are there. For mobile, you'd need MiLB tv. Here's more info on it: https://www.milb.com/news/minor-league-games-added-to-mlb-tv
  19. For rookies with at least 50 PA, Korey Lee leads in batting average. It's kinda funny that after a decade+ of being unable to replace AJ, Hahn got Lee and Quero on his way out for expiring deals and Kendall Graveman. And, to his credit, Getz may have had them work on improving their hitting this off-season, as they look much better than post-deadline last year.

Ballers said they didn't hear no bell.

Ohhh. FYI, new this year (maybe last year?), they include the MiLB stuff with MLB.TV, if you subscribe to it already. I was talking about the clip SS2k5 posted in the tweet. It's a rough look for Ellis.
  22. I feel seen. But I am also very glad for Gonzalez so far.

I mean, you can see it. Unlike Duke Ellis.
