  1. That, or they're all shitting themselves again.
  2. The 1962 Mets It's fun cause they were led by a HoF manager fired by the Yankees because of his age. And we have TLR still floating around.
  3. Good thing we got rid of the people in charge of that!
  4. This is like hoping you can catch lightning in one of those 3 oz. containers they let you bring on planes
  5. In the mid-90s? Dude's great at radio, but people can also develop new skills over the course of nearly three decades.
  6. "The White Sox are changing their ways" Flashback to Manny Ramirez, Jimmy Rollins, Andruw Jones, Justin Morneau (truly unforgivable), Ken Griffey Jr. (Griffey was good! But he fit the MO), Edwin Encarnacion, Kevin Youkilis, Jose Canseco
  7. It's another bidder and only strengthens the argument for selling Cease now instead of mid-season. A lot of the high rollers are gonna have disappointed fans once Shohei signs somewhere. Snell, Yamamoto and Montgomery won't cost as much, but will still have a hefty price — and there's still only three of them.
  8. I'm gonna just keep trying to manifest Gonzalez into taking off and channeling all our negativity into an awesome 2024.
  9. ...I was being sarcastic (which, to be fair, is hard to read on the internet and I should have done greentext) The Baltimore package I proposed early in the thread was Kjerstad, Bradfield, Povich, Nunez. That was before a dozen teams reportedly started checking in on Cease and Rosenthal began talking of a "monster haul," cause now I've got stars in my eyes (what are the weird odds we could swap Hall for Povich?)
  10. Suggesting Teel or Bradfield in Red Sox or Orioles packages would be completely silly. I'd never do that. Never ever. (I don't care if Teel got taken, still counts)
  11. To be fair, Bowden's was a hypothetical.
  12. Getting the D-Backs #4 prospect (per MLB, #18 on Fangraphs mid-season rank) as the top guy would be borderline baseball malpractice.
  13. In retrospect (or at the time), the Bogaerts deal was just insanity without Soto or Snell locked up.
  14. Bowden's Winter Meetings wishlist, cause we're starved for anything Cease to Rangers for Leodys Taveras, Cody Bradford, and Josh Stephan Eloy to Marlins for Jacob Amaya, Karson Milbrandt, and Jacob Miller
  15. Elbow inflammation It's not the worst idea to package him with Cease if it drastically ups the return. I'm also not furious if they keep him since they have him for five more years.
  16. I mean, his best pitch was getting batters to chase outside of the zone? Do we think the Braves are stupid acquiring him? Edit: Just checked fangraphs and he's had remarkably consist pitching types throughout his career, batters made even less contact in the strike zone and he through more first pitch strikes last year. Throw in a drastically lower FIP than his ERA and you basically come to the conclusion: He had s%*# fielding behind him. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/aaron-bummer/16258/stats?position=P
  17. The fact that the Sox are burning payroll to the ground and can't get in the sweepstakes is disgraceful. Like we all knew it and there's no way Ohtani would have ever come here, but goddamnit Jerry.
  18. Man, Oops! All shortstops does not look great in retrospect unless Preller extracts a bounty here.
  19. Ironically, the players Getz has acquired so far (DeJong, Lopez) would make Bummer a better pitcher.
  20. Last season was the perfect time to blow it up, especially to try and keep their pick, but man, "continuity."
  21. No DeMar or Zach and the Bulls beat Milwaukee with 8 guys in double figures, P-Will animated, Vuc going off, and 32 assists (they average 22). Man, they should have traded those two when they still high value.
  22. That's former 2018 #7 overall draft pick Adam Haseley and assassin of Danny Mendick, mind you.
