  1. Considering the Reds have De La Cruz, Marte, Encarnacion-Strand, McLain, India, and Barrero - you have to imagine someone is getting dangled as a trade piece. Obvious candidate is India, but still feels worth noting.
  2. Yeah, this is the main reason the Orioles basically need to unload prospects that aren't named Jackson Holliday. They have young guys succeeding at the major league level blocking AAA prospects. They need major league pitching. They run the risk of those AAA prospects losing value as they get older / could begin to show flaws. The Yankees are flexing, the Red Sox also have a stacked system, the Rays are the Rays, and the Blue Jays have fat wads of cash. If the Orioles aren't gonna spend, they can't prospect hug unless they're convinced Hall and Cowser are gonna be aces.
  3. "A group of Chicagoans buy the team from Jerry to move it Nashville."
  4. Anyway, they need to light a beacon when this guy comes out of the bullpen vs. using a phone
  5. Calling Jerry a Sox fan is a stretch after how he's abused the team in recent years. Otherwise it's a club of you.
  6. No order - Buehrle - Minoso - Konerko - Abreu - Anderson - Quintana - Giolito - Hendriks - Burger - Thome - Dye - Pierzynski
  7. If we're able to get multiple players back for Cease, some can be pitchers and some can be position players.

  9. This is actually a phenomenal nickname for a pitcher
  10. As a fan of "dream big" I do love the idea of Jac Caglianone if scouts even remotely think he can remain a two-way player. Harold spotlighted Brody Brecht, who MLB has the Sox taking in their way-too-early mock draft. Reports on both from MLB: Jac Brecht
  11. For real. One or two picks higher in 2018 and we get Adley or Witt Jr.
  12. The only silver lining is that Getz now has zero excuses to make tank moves. The org will still try to sell it as a transition year, but without the ability to be in the mix for Ethan Holliday, it's a lot harder sell.
  13. See, I keep envisioning a scenario where if they miss out this year, they can still miss out next year. So... please don't suck. Just get a good bonus pool.
  14. No particular order, as as a 31 year old, keeping it to players only. - Yonder Alonso - Hanser Alberto - Adam LaRoche - James Shields - Nick Swisher - Brett Myers - Dallas Keuchel - Omar Vizquel - Adam Eaton, solely because he called a 13-year-old a leader - Mark Kotsay, because it was Ozzie's stupid love of him that led to Thome having a 1.000+ ops for the Twins and obliterating a walk -off against Thornton, helping kill the team's playoff hopes.
  15. Since 2002, the OD starters have been: Buehrle, Contreras, Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Shields, Giolito, and Cease. And now Touki.
  16. It's basically something like: If the Orioles are prospect hugging for Cease, do you think they'd be willing to meet Robert's price (Holiday++). You're asking for a team's top prospects and probably a young MLB piece. The cost of Robert with four years of affordable control should be squeezing blood from a stone.
  17. Yeah, the Mets are one of the few teams that I think can use the term "retool" with a straight face. The White Sox...no. Meanwhile, I resolve all judgement on Fedde until I get an @Eminor3rd scouting report.
