After Buehrle's perfect, the Field of Dreams game is the best moment of the past 18 years with this team. DJ's emotional "light it up" made it perfect.

GM Meetings Thread: MLB Rumors and Elaborate Boras Metaphors
Probably, it was like, a year before the Sox signed Cespedes. Then he got tied to the Sox and the Sox were like "just take BP at our Dominican academy for a long time"

I mean, I left working at place I would have considered a dream workplace for me because of contract bullshit, so, yes, yes you do?

GM Meetings Thread: MLB Rumors and Elaborate Boras Metaphors
I'm assuming this? Of course I can't find the article, but I remember at one point the Astros were heavily connected to him when he still had the "Cuban Ohtani" label. If only we had a player development staff.

GM Meetings Thread: MLB Rumors and Elaborate Boras Metaphors
He had a good season, is old so he'll be cheap, and as @ChiSox59 said on my "f*** it, we'll give the appearance of competing post," he's a natural platoon for Colas, assuming Pedro doesn't ram a spear through Colas' heart.

Remember when incredibly popular, nationally known Chance the Rapper designed these dope ass hats, then wanted to become a paid team ambassador instead of doing stuff for free and the org said naaaah

Unscientific poll, but a decent amount of other team's fans have said that they would listen to the Sox broadcast instead of their own because Jason and Stone were that good together.

#SoxMath will be replaced by #SoxGripes, where Rocko from Oak Lawn calls in to talk about how much he hates Moncada for an entire inning.

Benetti to Tigers
Yeah, that's the point. But it means that if the Sox were a professional organization and not cheap, they would have an upper hand. This is just indicative of the White Sox underlying issues. Mainly: Cheap and unprofessional Getz and Grifol weren't hired because they were the best people for their jobs, it's because they were cheap yes men. The manager interview process after 2020 was a joke. We all know how cheap Jerry is. We can go on and on, but Jason's departure is just another symptom of Jerry being the underlying disease.

Living in Brooklyn: Mostly cause I don't feel like paying for cable to watch the Mets and they're blacked out on TV here. Otherwise, man, my loyalties would definitely be shifting from the current 90-10 White Sox-Mets to a more 50-50.

Hawk Harrelson going scorched earth on Brooks Boyer is probably the best thing for Jerry. He loves him a scapegoat.

Jason gained a stupid amount of national fans during the Bill Walton game. Then he kept them because he's one of the few national announcers people enjoy listening to and don't actively hate, especially across multiple sports. The only one I can think of off the top of my head in that company is Kevin Harlan, and unless I missed something, Harlan is just doing two sports.

Because the Sox are just great at this, I was too young to really get how badly they botched letting Rooney walk after 2005. But it seems to be a recurring theme for this team to let good announcers walk.

Also, I need to add a note before someone - let me phrase this as Hawk would - spills their can of corn in disgust over this ducksnort of a statement - I loved listening to Hawk until he got to his grumpy phase.

Man if only the Sox could have had a guy like that with national prominence! Maybe he could have started a tradition like singing the 7th inning stretch? My favorite critique of Jason is people calling him corny, as if Hawk Harrelson wasn't the corniest fucking soundboard in the entire game. He had an amazing home run call and before he declined, he could balance the cornball. Unfortunately, he had zero chemistry with Stone and the broadcast became "Hawkisms and the same stories about Yaz and Catfish while Steve Stone wallows in misery."

But this just keeps speaking to how horrendous this org is. Benetti is growing in national prominence and his childhood dream was to be the White Sox announcer. Plenty of teams let their announcers split national duties with local broadcasts. Do you think the Knicks get upset about Mike Breen? Jon Miller did national work for a long time. But this dumpster fire organization probably tried to shortchange Benetti again, because we know that he said the contract negotiation was painful.

Tim Anderson Free Agency Discussion
Sometimes people are able to write statements that convey a more poised messages when they're addressing the end of their time at a workplace after nine years, especially compared to tweets which are usually off the cuff brain droppings. Why is this a hard to grasp concept for people?

Getz speaks at GM meetings...
While I joked with the Shaq meme, Rick Hahn once said we were mired in mediocrity and needed to hit home runs. Getz has to produce results or this is just fluff. And he has to do it on an accelerated timeline, because he was gifted a GM job on the premise that he doesn't need time to turn things around.
