December 7, 20232 yr Considering the Reds have De La Cruz, Marte, Encarnacion-Strand, McLain, India, and Barrero - you have to imagine someone is getting dangled as a trade piece. Obvious candidate is India, but still feels worth noting.
December 7, 20232 yr Jeimar Candelario definitely wins the award for "dude who is way better than you expect every time you look it up" but you can see by the contract how skeptical everyone is about it.

Would have to hit a minimum of 725-750 with GG defense.
December 7, 20232 yr Reds have way too many infielders unless 2-3 are changing to outfielders. Steer can, obviously. And an opening at first base for Votto...where Steer can also go. Jonathan India and Nick Senzel two of the more obvious odd men out...will try to convince Getzy they have his second baseman of the future on their roster. Edited December 7, 20232 yr by caulfield12

If you go and look at similarity scores for Yoan on Baseball Reference, Candelario is 2nd on the list. Candelario has actually been more productive since 2019, which for a player with the prospect pedigree of Moncada, is pretty sad.

Yoan's managed to make Byron Buxton look like less of a disappointment, somehow.

I actually think he has a chance to be good for the Nats Cincy jerked him around his entire career. Leave him in one spot defensively and give him some AB’s he might surprise.
