  1. Williams as the youngest player in the league last year and had this game against the Nets while showing other flashes throughout the season. And in defensive metrics, he had 2.2 defensive win shares and a 0.81 DBPM while drawing the best players on the other team (LeBron, Giannis, etc.) as basically the only defensive player on the team besides Thad Young and, again, the youngest player in the league. Those aren't the end all be all, but Ayo has 0.8 (season isn't done) and -0.1 right now. Ayo' DBPM is 100% being dragged down by being the best defensive player at the moment surrounded by Zach, DeMar and Vuc, but the counter point is Pat was out there with Zach, Coby, and Lauri/Vuc. Ayo's defense is off the charts, so this should tell you what Pat was doing last year, on the charts. Then there's this: Pat doesn't stuff the sheet, but if AKME is holding onto him as tightly as they are, you should trust them.
  2. I mean, I'd 100% take Gallo for not Vaughn or Crochet. But I'm not trading the guy projected to be the first baseman of the future (who can also contribute right now) in exchange for a guy you hope can bounce back out of a Rangers uniform.
  3. We actually copyrighted Drain Duo™ and The Little Magician™ and make $10,000 annual profit on that alone.
  4. .160/.303/.707 at Yankees Stadium, with that right field porch, does not inspire confidence.
  5. The Sun-Times just got bought by WBEZ (Chicago Public Media), which is phenomenal for journalism in Chicago. The Athletic is top tier coverage.
  6. We added Jose Abreu at your behest.
  7. Thad not playing this game was like the salt in the wounds. I wish Lauri had just taken the Spurs deal.
  8. Watch the Spurs run the pick and roll against the Bulls is painful
  9. Aw damn. Tony requires cover letters.
  10. Get rid of gloves!
  11. 66 years, from 1903 to 1969. Before that...it's messy. The Top record in the NL (formed in 1871) was champion. Then the American Association played them in a pseudo-World Series from 1884 to 1890. Two of those were ties. From 1894 to 1897 runner up played the first place. Again in 1900. In 1902, the closest thing to a championship was a football game between the Philadelphia A's (managed by Connie Mack) and the Philadelphia Phillies.
  12. Still small samples, but: StatMuse is great: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/giannis-stats-vs-jerami-grant-since-2020 Basically, I'm not giving up a pretty penny for Jerami Grant, but if I can get Barnes without giving up Coby or Pat (which I know may be tough), I do it.
  13. I'm glad you said container vs. stopper that people always toss around. We need a dude that can keep them to MVP numbers instead of monstrous games.
  14. Chuck was so upset and calling Zach a snub. I love it. It will still be great having both of them on the team. Funny thing is if DeMar was classified as a forward, Zach is a starter and DeMar is probably Durant's replacement in the starting five.
  15. I thought he retired on the White Sox Talk podcast....last year?
  16. Spoilers for Spider-Man NWH, but this is what I think of when I think of Hansen: Jokes aside, it sucks that he never pieced it together after that first season. He was so amazing, then...nothing.
  17. Here's a Big Mac/Cheeseburger breakdown: Yes, they get pricier, but not much. Wages however, go WAY up. https://www.restaurantbusinessonline.com/financing/why-big-mac-costs-more-seattle-austin The other factor is franchisees are paying for real estate, thus raising costs in higher cost of living areas.
  18. How's this...not illegal?
  19. Yeah, take NBA Central/Bleacher Report with a grain of salt but, he doesn't want to play third string to AD and LeBron. He'd still be third string here.
  20. Interesting comment from Reddit ----- Current franchises with at least one HOFer on their roster in over 80% of their MLB seasons: Boston Red Sox 91.7% New York Yankees 86.4% Atlanta Braves 86.2% Chicago White Sox 85.8% St. Louis Cardinals 82.7% Detroit Tigers 80.8% World Series champions with no HOFers on their roster (at any point in that season): 1981, 1997, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014-present
  21. This is why the Basketball Hall of Fame is the best. Edit: To clarify, not because "all cheaters are in" or anything, but because it's pretty much a "was this dude significant for a long period of time to the game? Yes? In." Scenario.
  22. I'd vote A-Rod in over Ortiz.
  23. Things to watch for today: If Buehrle stays on the ballot. If Bonds, Clemens, and Ortiz get in. Ortiz getting in basically invalidates the steroid argument. Bonds and Clemens massively invalidate that, but it also murders the character argument hampering Schilling and Vizquel (Bonds being a domestic abuser, Clemens grooming a 15-year-old). I'm definitely not arguing for Schilling or Vizquel here. Like I said earlier, Cap Anson probably doesn't get in if he's voted on today. Roberto Alomar is banned from baseball and wouldn't be allowed in. Fun fact: Fergie Jenkins, Willie Mays, and Mickey Mantle were all banned from baseball. Jenkins because a customs search in Canada found him with drugs. Mays and Mantle because - well after their playing careers - they worked at casinos. Jenkins got reinstated by an arbiter. The following commissioner reinstated Mays and Mantle.
  24. At this point I'd prefer Arci to Matt Thomas, what with all the injuries.
