I imagine we'll all have 1001 trade proposals this offseason: We know Kimbrel's option is almost certainly being picked up and he'll be shopped, the 1B/C/OF/DH logjam needs to be figured out, etc. Here's a thread to put your ideas, be they realistic or insane.

I go the NBA for likable figures like Kyrie Irving, Ben Simmons, [insert player #50 demanding a trade]. The NBA has a metric fuckton of unlikable figures. And likable ones. If you find it boring, that's fine, but that second point is wack.

Happy for Gafford. Wish we could have kept him after Theis left, especially now that we have plenty of dudes that could send lobs to Gaff. He'll be making a higher AAV than Wendell. Dunn's been cut. Hutch has been cut. Trying to get quality second rounders were so undervalued for so long by the previous FO. I can only think of Asik until Gafford (yes, I realize the second round is a crapshoot, but it felt like GarPax didn't take it seriously).

Was he asked about it or was it unprompted?

In an alternate universe where Semien isn't traded, this is what YourWhatHurts and other gone-but-not-forgotten posters would have called him from 2015-2018 until he turned into an MVP bat.

I'm with CWS - we have to remember how many dudes got hit by workloads. Now throw in the league switch, the role switch (which, while I think is dumb, it only takes one reckless GM to buy into). I think the Sox could probably get something real nice if they shopped Kimbrel + $4-$8M. I doubt Jerry does that, but, maybe. I could also see them trying to bundle Burger or Sheets in there (but that's by no means necessary).

Back to the Sky: After drafting Sylvia Fowles and EDD and both of them forcing their ways out, it's great that a local Hall of Famer came back and won.

? if that post is my legacy on this board, it is a good one.

RON IN 2019: Thinking of cheering for the Cubs next year

I edited the thread title so people would know that no one is overreacting to the ALDS. See, we mods/admins do stuff! -

Also, this post aged beautifully. Remember when we were all jealous about the Twins free agent signings or Steve Cohen buying the Mets? Good times. -

Damn Ray Ray, you found another instance of him doing this. So Ron does this frequently? -
Nitengale: La Russa "definitely" returning to the Sox

I know you're highlighting this because you want one of us to dig up your post about how you were going to become a Cubs fan after TLR got hired. You truly have mastered the art of trolling, Eduardo. -
Fire all umpires and replace them with full blown automation. I'm talking AI, drones in the field. Holy shit that was a terrible call.

Since we've got a lot of duplicate threads running concurrently, the old one from the trade deadline gets the axe. Please take Madrigal/Kimbrel trade talk here: Please take Kimbrel's future with the team talk here:

Because you decided to just ignore the fact that I laid out an argument for why Lynn wasn't a clear cut #1 starter on this staff, the 2005 White Sox "benched" their All-Star, Opening Day ace for Game 1 of the ALDS, ALCS, and World Series for Jose Contreras because Jose Contreras had a hot hand.

Unban Ron from RealGM! -
I'm agreeing with Balta here. Gio and Rodon had pitched well against the Astros this year, Lynn hadn't. Minute Maid might as well be Lynn's House of Horrors. Plus, it's not like Lynn is a clear cut ace - Gio, Rodon, and Lynn have all been All-Stars for the Sox, Rodon's getting Cy Young votes, and Gio was the best in the second half.

Honestly Ron, shut the fuck up with trying to backseat mod.

This team did great this year. It's infuriating because they could have been better with what they have. Balta has his running list of real obvious blunders by TLR. The team coasted in the second half. BUT, TLR was here for October. That was all we were told about. It's why we didn't hire Hinch (who did a great job with Detroit) or go after Bochy. And he's gotten his ass whooped by Dusty Baker. -

The Astros positioning is perfect and it makes me want to die from envy. -

Either we're getting a massive Rally Engel bomb or the season is dead. -

This team was so much better on offense at the beginning of the season when they weren't relying on home run-or-nothing and were focusing on generating runs. -

If Lynn started today and got hit by the Astros, you'd be saying: "Still think it was wise to bench Rodon today? You have to go with the guy who owned the Astros, not the guy who got lit up by them."
