  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 22, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) How can anybody call Obama's eight years "great?" As far as Democrats, I think Carter and Clinton were WAY better. On the Republican side, Reagan was a great president IMO. Barack's reign was classy but he was ineffective. Well, we pay attention for starters.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 22, 2017 -> 11:23 AM) McCain and Graham confirmed they're voting for Tillerson, so he's in. f***. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 22, 2017 -> 11:25 AM) http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/mi...a-a7540476.html Double f***.
  3. Can't believe people keep driving under the influence, but rest in peace. Too many of these happening the past few years.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 06:42 PM) Why? I thought it was a nice point to make. Cooper obviously did not want Trump yet was thoroughly professional in covering the 3 inauguration balls and commentary, etc. I always wish well for my country. I'm glad I am not full of bitterness. I despise Hillary but I can assure you if she won I wouldn't have ripped her every move. Now in 3.5 years when the next election season came around? If she stunk as Pres of course I'd have renewed venom toward her. Trump is president. Just as I wished Obama well I wish Trump well. I want my country to get powerful again. I want the economy to grow. He's in charge now. I think everybody should give a clean slate to Trump, but I realize that's impossible. Even a nice thread like this didn't last but 1-2 posts before turning to Trump disgust. Whatever. Peace to you all. You mention Hillary and your hate of her basically in every post. You expect a much more vile human to get rah-rahs?
  5. Meanwhile the Women's March is insane in numbers.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) Sarcasm? Yes
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 09:37 PM) I dont know where else to post this so I am going to post it here. So I was reading an article and it cited something from twitter. I figured the person from twitter was like a journalist or something. It turned out it was just some random lady from Florida. This has just gotten completely out of control in terms of what is credible reporting. Now granted its USA today, but still it just blew my mind. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politic...-size/96855252/ By her own admission she was watching on TV. Its like quoting me about the weather in Japan. "Everyone in Japan reports that it is raining. But at least one person, Soxbadger, said the reason for the rain was Godzilla was peeing." C'mon guys...
  8. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) Billy had a hip injury that season which forced him to miss about a month if I remember correctly. Mark Meanwhile the Sox tried to reacquire Minnie, but the price was too high.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:16 PM) My friend posted a status asking if Barrack Obama was the greatest President or a great President. Need a couple more options there, fella as the answer is "neither". No, the answer is "great President". He's in the second tier of presidents that follow the first tier of Washington, Lincoln and FDR.
  10. I'll be there all three days.
  11. I think we'll find out who the Democratic forerunner is in two years at the midterms. Some of the Democrats are going to build themselves on fighting Trump.
  12. Donald Trump Is @POTUS, But His Cover Photo Is From Obama’s Inauguration Donald Trump Plagiarized Bane in His Inaugural Speech
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) yes fun fact as linked by balta in the old thread, a lot of the federal government won't even be in place Monday because Donnie demanded that everyone resign effective now and hasn't even bothered to nominate replacements for all but a handful of positions. but it's also the stated goal of his white supremacist chief policy adviser to destroy the federal government, so they probably view this as perfectly fine and good. ok, now I'm checking out. They actually are now keeping 50 members of Obama's government as interim employees.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) Didn't Trump already say he was not gonna start working until Monday? Like the Presidency is a M-F job? He wants to spend weekends at Trump Tower or Mar-a-Lago
  15. "There is no room for prejudice" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahhaha
  16. Bruh, which countries are ravaging our borders?
  17. Ah, our education system that is flush with cash.
  18. Sounds like the crowds at The Cell for the past year.
  19. Sounded like a small bit of boos for Mitch and Ryan.
  20. Sounded like a small bit of boos for Mitch and Ryan.
  21. QUOTE (brett05 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 10:25 AM) where our healthcare was 1/3 less, our work force was greater, our poverty less, our debt 50% less, our poor less. Yes that time period. I hope you don't have to be right in your job.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 09:27 AM) that is so odd, and sad. It has been a major roadblock for him. Similarly, playing in different decades caused him to have detractors.
  23. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 04:23 AM) It would be cool if one day being a teacher was something you did after your main career was over. Like after you acquire wisdom from living in the world for many decades. Kids would benefit so much more if teaching was more voluntary from older, wiser people. Right now you have all these fall-down-blackout-drunk sluts from s***ty state schools becoming teachers at 22 who burn the candle at both ends. I know that is a HUGE & RIDICULOUS rambling generalization but we all know plenty of these ladies. And I get it, we need too many of them to probably ever weed out the junk. But maybe one day there will be the following headlines during a teachers' strike: "10,000 55-70 yr. old Chicagoans volunteer to teach for the rest of the year while teachers' union forces teachers to strike." "After 1 day of 'The Replacements'- Chicago kids are more interested in school than ever before!" "Kids gaining wisdom & role models at school for the first time ever new study finds." "Ambition discovered at local highschool. Thought to have gone extinct decades ago." "Life lessons, successes & failures, woven into english class at local school. Attendance skyrockets." Boom. Pension problem fixed in Jerksticks' Dreamland. No longer a job, but a way to give back once your nest empties. Age does not grant wisdom, which does not grant the ability to teach.
  24. Fun fact: The Veteran's Committee is allowed to vote on Minoso the negro league player or Minoso the MLB player. Not both.
