QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 05:34 PM) Like I said before, I'd be OK with him getting kicked out of office before he takes office. Let McCain or Herman Cain or somebody like that be president. Or cite an emergency and let Obama serve two more years and have another election in two years. As long as it's not Hillary I'm OK with dumping Trump over this Russian interference issue. Even Bill would be OK, just not Hillary. If it can be proven Russia doctored votes then I'd think Trump could be declared ineligible for office. It's unprecedented, but if Russia influenced the vote, don't we need another election? Do you have any idea how the government works? Trump Pence Ryan Hatch Tillerson Mnuchin Mattis Sessions Zinke Ross Puzder Carson Chao Perry DeVos Kelly That's the Presidential line of succession once Trump takes office.

Pretty evenly split on Trade A or Trade B. I'd go A, even though it's a 2-for-3 instead of a 1-for-5.
-
Time for which trade you'd prefer: Trade A: Quintana + Frazier for Bregman + Martes + Stubbs Trade B: Quintana for Martes + Tucker + Stubbs + Fisher + Laureano

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:55 PM) What the f***? Why? Intimidation, I guess? WikiLeaks is bottom of the barrel when it comes to stuff like this, as has been shown time and time again. My guess is WikiLeaks is wants to hurt one person and doesn't care about collateral, like they did in Turkey. I have close friends that are verified, so this freaks me out a bit.

What low-key Sox prospect are you most excited to get a chance
Quin replied to bmags's topic in FutureSox Board
I think the argument around Tilson right now is that as the projected starting CF, he really isn't a low-key prospect. As for mine, all of the FutureSox guys should be familiar with my choices: Eddy Alvarez, Blake Hickman (finally able to pitch with the team) and Taylore Cherry. -

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:32 PM) Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 14s15 seconds ago @AaronLemingNFL @barstoolWSD @JamesFox917 And talks will be ongoing with Q and until they aren't. Not like CWS making him untouchable Boo.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:29 PM) Which is why Bregman makes sense here. Maybe Merkin knows something we dont. Everyone said Moncada was untouchable too. Don't get my hopes up. Cause I'd be ecstatic.
-
QUOTE (pablo @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:15 PM) I am a fan of WSD but that doesn't make much sense. Five top 10 prospects when Sale only got 3? Granted, Moncada was probably worth 2 top prospects by himself. Did he have sources or was he just throwing that out there? All top 10s are not made the same.
-
QUOTE (pablo @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Agreed on Laureano, interesting prospect. Here's a write up on him along with an Astros top 10 from a prospect website https://prospect361.com/al-team-prospects/houston-astros/ . The writer came away very impressed with him. Martes, Tucker, Laureano, + seems like a very good package that is on par with what the Sox got for Sale. No offense, but that's not even close to comparable with the Sale deal. Bregman + Tucker + Daz Cameron + a flier would be the Astro's equivalent. And just because it's been asked before. Yankees equivalent: Torres, Rutherford, Tate + flier Pirates: Meadows, Newman, Hayes, Diaz

http://thehill.com/policy/technology/31307...s-personal-data WikiLeaks continues to be trash. WikiLeaks Task Force ✔ @WLTaskForce We are thinking of making an online database with all "verified" twitter accounts & their family/job/financial/housing relationships

This is the strangest turn yet in this thread.

Promising stuff on Giolito rebounding.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 04:07 PM) The Stros may like Archer more than Q. It's funny. Q is better than Archer, left handed, younger, and has been a workhorse in the bigs for longer. He has one less year of control. And the Astros offered a larger package than the one that the Sox asked for for Archer. Velocity must mean everything.

Mussina needs more love. Glad to see Bonds and Clemens are gaining steam. Raines is long overdue.

Ghostbusters was unremarkable and just not a lot of fun. I enjoyed McKinnon, Wiig and Jones but everything was mind blowingly bad.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 03:20 PM) I'd argue the board is pretty liberal...do agree there are a handful of mods that fit the bill you are describing, myself included. I think liberal posters post in here more, but the board leans conservative.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 5, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) It's just the White Sox were sooo aggressive with him. Any other team probably doubles him up at AA or gives him a full year at AAA. That he hasn't fallen on his face at any level is encouraging that he improves. I don't think they were aggressive with him at all.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jan 4, 2017 -> 11:26 PM) As someone who is in the business and does play by play (and is also a White Sox fan / historian) I can certainly appreciate Hawk's passion and love for the team. However its clear at 75 he is no longer sharp, certainly not what he was even 10 years ago. That's not his fault, its the human condition. However Hawk's ego I think refuses to understand that time waits for no one. He needs to call it a well deserved day, appreciate what he's done for the franchise and step aside gracefully. Over and above the diminished skills, there's the long periods of silence when things are going bad (even though the game is still going on), the uneasy relationships with a number (not just Stone) of his broadcast partners over the years (let's not forget why Paciorek left), the haranguing of umpires (certainly deserved at times but very unprofessional. You can get the point across about bad calls, bad umpires without being petty and vindictive) Hawk can't or won't recognize these shortcoming. He won't even try to adjust and correct them. It comes down to ego and he's got a big one. And to be fair there are very few folks in the business who don't have some ego, that's one of the reasons they got into it in the first place. Bottom line though is that for good or bad, like him or not, as long as JR owns the team and as long as he wants to work, he'll have a job. I just hope that I've got the good sense to know when its my time, to face it honestly and admit I simply don't have it anymore on the level that I work. Mark Coming from a man in the industry, this is the best post in this thread so far.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 4, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) A lot of differing opinions on Adams it seems. Of all the prospects, I'm most interested in seeing where Adams falls on the new Future Sox rankings.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 4, 2017 -> 05:27 PM) Well, that goes back to my point of in my head cashman is willing to use Torres in a deal, but when Torres is added wants it to be in a situation where he is offering a talent so much more coveted than what other teams are offered he does not need to offer as much on the backend. Compare that with if Cashman is bidding Torres vs a Meadows, well, then they need to be competitive on the backend. But if Torres is dropped in an offer, Hahn isn't goint to respond "uh he's only half of 1/2 season of chapman therefore goodbye" Would you accept a smaller package built around Torres or a larger package around Meadows?
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 4, 2017 -> 04:57 PM) No, it isn't how it works. Torres was sold to yanks after a rough first half, he then recovered for a nice second half while being incredibly young, then tore up AFL. Has always had good discipline and then showed off the pop. Torres is a top 5 position prospect now. Still, if Hahn is asking for a deal similar to the Sale deal it'd look like Torres Rutherford Andujar Tate and that could be scaring Cashman off.

How our current top 100 prospects match up with past years
Quin replied to FT35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If half these guys hit, it will be strange as four are pitchers.
