  1. No one should be mad at the Sox. Fowler taking that deal 100% translates to he wanted to stay a Cubbie.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 5m5 minutes ago Travis Ishikawa agreed to sign w/ Seattle #Mariners but was confused when deal fell apart. Back w/ #WhiteSox. http://bit.ly/1WJcaZB Huh?
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 11:44 PM) I would even include Quinarvy with Beck in the trade, but I'd probably miss seeing his signature quotes too much. However, we should be willing to part with all the extra bags of balls we got back for Beckham from the Angels and in the Alex Rios/Leury Garcia deal as well.
  4. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 11:21 PM) Would you trade Beck to the Dodgers for Trayce back? Talk me out of it. That would be hysterically amazing.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 09:36 PM) you sure sounds like SS2k5 .... i wonder who this is really??? Shakes. A separate poster. C'mon man, you're better than a conspiracy theory.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 4m4 minutes ago Lazarito bombshell: U.S. agent drops him after death threat. Story with @jonmorosi:... http://fb.me/2tFgn1rcO Well, that's a snag.
  7. But in all seriousness, who is their leadoff hitter right now?
  8. Arrieta comes back down to Earth. Schwarber has a sophomore slump after his downward trend last year. Heyward's defensive value gets negated by bad and worse flanking him in the OF. Lackey gets old. Zobrist's legs give out. Bryant still Ks a lot. Russell keeps the glove, bat doesn't develop. Lester can't pick anyone off. It all gets blamed on a goat.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 12:15 PM) So true. I mean you don't see a first class organization like the Cubs adding Matt Murton, Manny Parra, and Aaron Crow. Or David "Looks like he's 60" Ross
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) 1st quarter Drose was just ridiculously quick. Ridiculous. He slowed the pace down a bit in the 2nd half, but still had a huge 4th quarter. Interior defense was atrocious and the team yet again choked away and withered with a big lead. I continue to be frustrated with Hoiberg. I see so much stupidity out of the team night in / night out and I feel his laissez-faire style just doesn't work. For example, anyone watch Tony Snell at the end of the 2nd quarter. Rose screaming for the ball, Pau screaming for the ball, nope, we get Snell for like 15 seconds of stupidity. I did notice at times, we were far more crisp offensively, but you have to remember the Lakers are dismal. Byron Scott makes Hoiberg look like a genius and we all know my current opinion of Hoiberg (prove me wrong Fred, please god prove me wrong). Rose is looking fast lately. I'm just waiting for him to pull out a dunk. Also the block/foul when Derrick inhaled Clarkson's soul. Dear God.
  11. Anyone b****ing about this move is solely looking to b****.
  12. I thought they already had the 27th?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 20, 2016 -> 06:55 PM) That one's easy. No one thinks the 2007 Patriots are the best team of all time, yet they're the only 16-0 regular season in the NFL. Yeah. If they don't win it all, 73-9 is null and void.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 14m14 minutes ago Dioner Navarro was asked about catching Chris Sale after Mark Buehrle: "He’s got way better stuff than Mark -- yeah, I said it." #WhiteSox Greg melt down in three...two...
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 06:31 PM) GarPax means both. According to Cowley they both were doing it, Here is the story. Said it started in training camp which makes it more unbelievable to me. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/13...ent-one-apology I really wonder if it was both. JR and Paxson weren't picking sides until JVG ripped the Bulls on national television. Basically echos KW-Ozzie perfectly.
  16. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) Good stuff guys. So like I said, she's 18 and I'm......25. What's interesting is that I was also talking to a 19 year old girl, one who is about to turn 20, and she acted WAY younger than this 18 year old. The nearly-20-year-old actually SAYS L-O-L, and say "bae" and "gucci" and "fleek" and those terms that kind of make me cringe because I remember how young she is. The 18 year old, doesn't say any of those things. She IS in fact in HS still, but has 2 jobs in addition to school. I don't know if that somehow has matured her, but if you had a conversation with this girl, you'd think she is probably 23-24. So that part I enjoy a lot. So I guess I'll just keep playing it by ear. I was a senior in HS and dated a freshman. It felt weird man. And gucci is definitely some stuff that was around when I was in HS. My advice - don't do anything right now. Be friends. Revisit after she's out of HS.
  17. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 01:48 AM) My best friend is a Dbacks fan. I gave him s*** relentlessly for it. He too claims it was a good move. Says the whole point is that they are better in 2016 for having made that trade, so the future pieces don't matter. Except, I don't even know that they ARE better in 2016 after the Miller trade. They just completely undervalue Inciarte.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 08:09 PM) No kidding? No offense to your friends but I don't think they realize what AZ gave up in that package. Call me crazy but I would have taken that package for Q, who is at least equally as good and comes with more years of control that should give Q surplus value over Miller. They really don't. They also think they got a WAAAAAAY better pitcher than Shelby Miller.
  19. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:54 PM) I'm wondering if you still stand by the below exchange? QUOTE (ozzfest @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) * Front office rankings in Chicago (in terms of which teams have the best chance to win it all). Which is how a front office should be judged. 1) Blackhawks 2) Cubs 3) Bears 4) White Sox 5) Bulls Quinarvy : "Lol. Bears should be fifth and Bulls second." A month ago? Yes. Then injuries made everything fly off the rails.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:50 PM) This is nuts. The Bears play in the sports where it's the easiest to get better. They also have a coach that has proven that he can develop talent in multiple stops. The Bears are in good hands and trending upward. I'm excited about Pace and Fox. But I was after year one of Emery - Trestman.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) They got better without giving up anything. The Bulls haven't done that since 1995. Eddy Curry trade says hi.
  22. Anyone know what happened to the Italian Ice? Also, shoutout to the brisket sandwich at ChiSox Bar and Grill
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 08:34 PM) I'd consider Pernell McPhee and Alshon Jeffery stars. Pace and Fox had a good 1st year considering everything. Good draft, free agency was average, development in young players was a huge positive. I definitely trust the Bears organization now than the Bulls. McPhee is a star?
