  1. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) You feel like the bulls/wsox currently have a better front office/coach and a brighter future than the bears currently? The Bears have done nothing to prove otherwise. The Sox and Bulls have legitimate stars on their teams.
  2. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 05:38 PM) I don't think I even want to watch the bulls the rest of this season or following seasons until some major changes are made. Right now it seems that JR currently owns the 2 worst teams in Chicago from top to bottom. Um, Bears.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 01:26 AM) http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/...e-online-021616 Clay Travis going in Clay Travis may also be the worst writer in sports journalism.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 11:36 PM) If the Bulls could get Gallinari for Gasol, the deal would have happened a long time ago. The sweetner here is the Bulls are getting a solid first round pick for Pau, plus a solid defensive big and well, who knows what McLemore is. I think this leak might also be someone trying to get another team to up the anti. I also wonder if a larger deal might be possible for one of the Sixers youngsters as well. Interesting Woj's piece talking about how much Pau wants to stay. I wonder if Bulls ultimately do this, add assets, and then bring back Pau anyway this off-season. I would have thought Pau wasn't interested, but maybe things really aren't near as bad as perceived on the outside from a chemistry issue. Supposedly this deal is very close. I can 100% see the Bulls dealing Pau then resigning him in the off-season.
  5. QUOTE (staxx @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 04:27 PM) Everytime I look at that Dbacks-Braves trade, it continues to look worse and worse. My friends that are D-Backs fans talked about how they didn't hurt their future. My response was that they did and even if they didn't think that, the package they gave up for Miller could have netted a lot better pitchers.
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) It amazes me how Cowley could even have a source within that org. LOL Cowley actually had me cracking up the other day. He was on with Bernstein and he was pretty much saying how the Bulls send him hate mail when he writes a negative article about them and threaten lawsuits at times. Pretty hilarious how he has no regard for what people think of him or how he isnt afraid to become and enemy to a team instead of a yes man. I never liked Cowley to much but I respect that part about him. Before or after he made up the Rose-Butler feud?
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Fulmer and Adams are legitimate pitching prospects. Danish is on the next tier, as his numbers haven't impressed, but he is also years ahead of where his age would typically have him pitching. Plus you still have a mess of C level guys with guys in this system. Danish has one year of unimpressive results.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 17, 2016 -> 08:55 AM) Where do I sign? I kind of hate that deal.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 16, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) Bulls doctors, man Are somehow amazingly the same as the White Sox.
  10. Pretty sure it was 3 of the 5 starters wanted Thibs gone with Jimmy and Pau in the Thibs gone camp, Rose in the keep Thibs camp and don't know where Dunleavy/Noah fell.
  11. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Feb 16, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) Mods, I would like to put a formal complaint on record that Quinarvy literally CLOSED a relevant sports thread because he disagreed with the topic. If you read the thread it is filled with well thought out discussion. He hated the thread the moment it opened. Quinarvy, you are an infant. What is so controversial about having a fire John Paxson thread in a Chicago sports forum? Doesn't surprise me. Many meathead Chicago fans are so nostalgic about Paxson because he was on the Jordan Bulls that they refuse to believe he sucks at being an executive. Formal complaint received. It was closed due to lack of constructive conversation. You still have this thread to utilize. Thank you for your time.
  12. Ozzfest, you just keep bumping this thread after it falls back. Posting something about KG complaining about Jerry Krause basically proves this thread has run its course. Take it to the main NBA thread.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) http://screenrant.com/daredevil-season-2-trailer-punisher/ Let's get this party started That was better than most movie trailers.
  14. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) They ARE a large market team - they play in the city of Chicago. They don't operate as a large market team because they haven't ever figured out how to win in a sustainable fashion in order to build up this revenue base of which you speak. The Mets operate in mostly the same fashion. They play in New York City. The Cubs and Yankees exist.
  15. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 01:38 PM) Sox payroll rank in MLB over the last 10 years: 2015: 15th 2014: 20th 2013: 8th 2012: 11th 2011: 5th 2010: 7th 2009: 12th 2008: 5th 2007: 5th 2006: 4th So that's only 1 year in the bottom half which was a rebuilding year, 6 times in the top 10 and 4 times in the top 5. Not bad for a team that struggles with attendance as much as the Sox do. I will be upset if the Sox don't spend money for another upgrade or two before Opening Day, but this idea that the Sox are cheap is exaggerated. Stop using facts.
  16. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) The real "schtick" is the oft-unfair maligning of the fan base at this site. White Sox fans are not weak, they are not fickle. They are consumers just like anyone else responding to the product they've been routinely presented, which has not been very good for a long time now. And let's be very clear here. There's a difference between "blind loyalty" and "brand loyalty", the former reserved for family and friends, and the latter for when the brand is actually good. So is it fickleness or weakness of the fan base that they haven't flocked in droves to the Cell the past three years, or the fact that the product or brand on the field has been flat out horrible. Which is it.
  17. Bah, I'll take Royals Review over the USA Today. But like SS2k5 said, if they win 90 games, everything goes right.
  18. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) I'm not trying to take anything away from Kobe, but where is ANY Tim Duncan love? Isn't this probably his last year too? Nah, Father Time is still trying to figure out Timmy.
  19. That was so fantastic. I'm amazed Fox greenlit so much. It's paying off.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) Just went back and watched all of these. 2000 was great but I'll take last night over it. The 80's ones don't hold up at all imo. For me it was because 2000 was loaded with amazing dunks and Vinsanity in full force. Andre Drummond and Will Barton held last night beneath 2000 for me.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 02:07 PM) I guess I'll be the minority and say LaVine is way better than Gordon. His first dunk was the best dunk of the night. LaVine's problem is he makes the dunks look so easy. Gordon didn't do as much for me. LaVine is better. It's just that Gordon was pulling off crazy, theatrical stuff. LaVine just looks so smooth that it hurts him - until they show slow motion and you realize how absolutely insane his dunks are.
  22. Rewatched the 2000 contest and while last night was amazing, 2000 was unreal. If Gordon and LaVine return next year, add a few more people like Super Mario and it might dethrone it.
  23. Drummond and Barton weren't that great. But holy s*** Gordon and LaVine was amazing.
