2016 MLB Draft
QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) Eh I'd rather have Semien, Phegley and Bassitt (who would probably be healthy with the Sox training staff) than merely Gavin Lux. I'd rather have Corey Ray and Gavin Lux. I'm also taking into consideration how bad Shark was. Also, wouldn't rather have Phegley, only assuming on Bassitt and I'll take Anderson and Lawrie over Semien.

If we get Ray and Lux... 1) We will have secured the League of Legends fan base 2) Samardzjia will be worth it

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (brett05 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 06:40 AM) It's more of he's better than the other two remaining candidates. Not much more to say than that. Complete lack of experience, racist, sexist. Yup. Better.

1/3 Season Awards
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 01:22 AM) Quintana better in BB/9, K/BB, HR/9, ERA, FIP, xFIP, WAR. Or as you said....just ERA. Yup, right now Q has been the best pitcher in the AL. Sale basically had one bad start that put even a slight amount of distance between the two.

White Sox Prospects of the Month, May 2016
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 10:59 AM) He should be. He's a lefty bat, which the team needs. He plays 1B above average, and it might be good to get Abreu to DH some days. The DH slot is currently manned by a guy who doesn't hit righties well (Garcia). He draws a ton of walks, gets on base (always a need). And he gives you a PH option, especially in interleague games, that likely does much better than Sands. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) He's only been a 1B and DH in his pro career, so no, I don't think so. That's the big weakness there. But then let's be honest, how often has Sands played OF this year? And with 3 starting OF's plus both Shuck and Garcia, that's 5 outfielders. Sands really is only a 1B on this team anyway. These reasons pretty much point to the fact that Hayes should be here instead of Sands right now. It just makes sense.

More Historical Perspective
QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 10:34 PM) This team just doesn't have enough talent or the manager to be good. It's that simple. This team has made the playoffs 5 times in 40 plus years including numerous choke jobs. Even the 2005 team let a 15 game lead drop to 1.5 in 6 weeks. That is the historical perspective that scares me. 40 years ago has no bearing on today. This is a team driven by momentum, that much is clear. Texas derailed that, but hopefully this weekend will right the ship.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 10:41 PM) The media should put all its resources into this story as well as the Hillary email story. Pursue both aggressively and see if both candidates get exposed for being frauds. It's simply hard to believe these are the candidates of the 2 major parties. You have an egomaniac elitist madman in Drumpf vs. an egomatic elitist madwoman in Hillary. Both are embarrassments to the country. Meanwhile, Bernie is considered a nut for some reason and all those other Republican candidates were severely flawed as well. I think Biden should have run vs. McCain. Two good candidates. What in all hell?

Parents Stuck With Their Kids
QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 31, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) I think that's awesome. My company is too client-facing to get away with that, but if I worked at a place where it was all internal to the company, I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to wear whatever you want. i.e. My current client (a major clothing retailer) allows the people (whether salaried or hourly) in their distribution centers to wear whatever - i.e. shorts and a tshirt. But at the corporate office(s), their dress code is standard business casual. Don't get me wrong. Whenever we go out to events that dictate dressing nicely, we do. Otherwise people will go on our livestream in their day-to-day outfits. It also seems to put guests at ease.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) Limbaugh said today the media has to cover every event Drumpf is at because of the things he says and the riots, etc. He said Hillary's camp is worried because they don't want the media to cover her speeches and appearances. He said she is so boring even Hillary's camp realizes the less people see of her the more apt she is to win. She will try to avoid public appearances because she is so dull. The convention will be sickening cause it will be all about her being the first woman president. History and all that. You guys can deny it, but it truly is a coronation more than an elective process. Superdelegates won't let Bernie make it a race, all the way through the convention coronation coverage then the formality of an election. Neither will voters.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2016 -> 11:59 AM) She ought to absolutely own that format. It shouldn't even be fair. Especially considering that people are going to be saying how terrible she will do the entire runup. Yeah, ball is in her court in a debate vs. Trump

Parents Stuck With Their Kids
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) I just read a story that said Millenials will take less money to be able to work in jeans and less stressful situations. I will applaud Millenials big time if it removes collared shirts and ties from the office. Does anybody really wear a tie anymore? Ties are disgusting. My current office has no code. Some wear gym clothes.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2016 -> 11:42 PM) Will there even be one debate? Two? I'd say one maximum. She won't want the Trump insults. p.s. Notice in all my anti Hillary ramblings, we never see anybody on here write anything where they are proud of their candidate Hillary, fired up about her candidacy and ultimate presidency.Hillary supporters are strangely quiet, it's as if they are supporting the coronation, but nothing about the specific candidate. Think about it ... all my links and ramblings about my dislike for Hillary. Never anything in response that shows love for Hillary. Just a rebuff of my comments or links. Must be sad if you can't get fired up about your candidate. Considering how thick Hillary's skin is and how fragile Trump's ego is, I can see her being fine with it.

2016 MLB Draft

How bad is our minor leagues ?
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 29, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) And this is exactly the major misconception about this year's three top 50 picks. It does not matter if the front office making the selection is the same one who has screwed up so many picks over the last two decades. I have quite a bit of confidence in Nick Hostetler, I his first year running that show.
