  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) You know that's what they're going to say. It's amazing how scared they are to make a deal, either going for it like in past years or blow it up like they should this year. It's crazy cause it felt like Paxson was never afraid to pull the trigger when he was GM.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Would the Bulls be able to acquire Griffin or Durant in a trade? I presume no, but probably worth discussing. Maybe if Niko had built off of last year instead of becoming hot garbage.
  3. Probably just become a baseball only fan.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) Rose will easily score 40 tonight. The rest of the team might score 20.
  5. Bulls starting lineup: Rose Moore Snell Gibson Bairstow Lord help us.
  6. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) LMAO! Who's talking about Reinsdorf? I thought we were talking about the USCF upper deck, whose construction you tried to somehow pass off as "standard"? If you have nothing else to say on the matter, then just don't say anything. It's really that easy. As for Mr. Reinsdorf, since you brought him up yet again, the only thing "unhealthy" is the effect he's had on the White Sox organization throughout his tenure as owner. You know it, I know it. As the Cubs benefitted by getting out from under the long term yet highly ineffective ownership of the Tribune Co. a few years ago, so will the White Sox come the post-Reinsdorf era, whenever that is. Thad, come on man. You mention Reinsdorf in almost every single post. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) Except PNC. That is an inspired ballpark. It's like if Wrigley field were more fan centric and not a complete garbage pile. This is an A+ description.
  7. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) I think it's hilarious/unfair that so many of the comments say "Quintana seems to be incredibly underrated. The stats and value say he is an ace. I voted no". Ok....so THEN WHY DID YOU VOTE NO? People are idiots. Because Chris Sale is in front of him.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) To this day, I don't understand why they didn't build the Cell with the Chicago skyline in the background. Supposedly to keep the address at 35th and Shields.
  9. The renovations made it go from awful to actually pretty good
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) Eddy Alvarez is the man. He's the most positive, humbled player. He was friendly, gracious and funny. When he was asked anything about his accomplishments he immediately brought up his mom and dad or Carlos Castillo (old Sox relief pitcher). When he was in the Q&A and Anderson/Fulmer struggled with a question he would jump in and bail them out by complimenting them. He is one of the best pro athletes I've ever been around and I feel like I'm going to struggle evaluating him because I like him so much. I hope he keeps up the great play. I feel better about my #9 rating. Like I said in the Future Sox podcast, if he were younger he'd be a Top 100. And I throw out his age due to his years away from the sport.
  11. Good write up. Also love how sabermetrics keeps popping up in articles.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) Shuck is the only guy they have who can play CF off of the bench. He can play all 3 OF positions. He will be on the opening day roster. This. He'd be taking LaRoche or Avi's spot. And Avi has an option left.
  13. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) Fulmer was actually taken 8th, but the point still stands. Sox have taken (what seems like) the best available player in the first round of the past three drafts (13' Anderson, 14' Rodon, 15' Fulmer). But that's not important. What's important is that they took Aaron Poreda a decade ago.
  14. Jesus. Hoiberg needs to start drawing up actual plays or something.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) Cubs' marketing!!! Harry Caray! Babes in the bleachers drinking Buds. I would venture that Soler has about the same value Viciedo did after 2012. Um, Viciedo had 25 HRs (compared to 10) and higher OPS. And while both are terrible defensively, Viciedo at least had a cannon of an arm.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 1, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) Kills me we couldn't sign Soler (I don't know this counterfactual and whether it influenced us getting Abreu). We were just bidding $70 mill plus for aging talent when the potential, cheap bat of Soler will allow a great package of return or he develops. Wait. Are you mad about Abreu over Soler?
  17. NHL actually left him off of the MVP ballot. Fantastic.
  18. Looks like it was the right time to sell on Montas.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) Is any team loaded enough to survive a top 3 starting pitcher missing all/most of the season? QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 12:47 PM) Exactly. Only the Mets, maybe. But the Sox should predict that and should have signed Price or Greinke.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 10:55 PM) Brian's source has been rock solid all offseason and he told us that the 3 year thing was and is nonsense. Hahn confirmed that tonight. Are people really this dense or do some of you just not read before posting? SoxTalk said the 3 year limit is proof that the Sox will never be taken seriously, therefore it is true.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 29, 2016 -> 04:34 PM) shades of all the BS that was said about Felipe Paulino and the fans back then bought it .... hook, line and sinker Turner is 24 and the former 15th overall prospect in baseball. Paulino was 30 and not a Top 100 prospect. Turner likely won't be all that hot - but the Sox are the best team to see him succeeding with thanks to Don Cooper and Herm Schneider.
  22. One player gets compared to Moses. Listen to find out who.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) I'd agree he has definitely looked better and is trending upwards. Good? Debatable as he has been horrible distributing the ball and I'd say he has had 5 bad games in January (might be unfair to count the Miami game but he had a bad first half before sitting out the second half), 4 really good games and 2 solid games and the team has not been good with him on the floor. What's the opposite of rose colored glasses?
  24. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) bs..... money talks, even the sox, if they wanted to, could have beaten the mets offer. this is all lip service, damage control. why now, 1 day before soxfest. Do you realize how asinine it would be to give Cespedes $30M for one year then an opt-out?
