  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:59 AM) Padres are in Hahn mode. We have to trade for Longoria now or the Padres win the offseason.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:58 AM) Bob Nightengale ‏@BNightengale 17s17 seconds ago And now the #Padres are about to get thier third baseman by trading catcher Ryan Hanigan to #RedSox for Will Middlebrooks, per @JeffPassan Padres going nuts.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:50 AM) Hearing his press conference and subsequent interviews shot my confidence level up MUCH higher than it had been. This. He sounds like a man who just got his childhood dream (which he did) and never wants to leave.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:19 AM) It all depends if the Red Sox go for him because as we learned they can trade for any player they want Victorino for Longoria and cash.
  5. So how long before Longoria rumors start springing up?
  6. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) Are you insulting me? He's mocking the Boston idiot. There were never any legs to this.
  7. It's cause we're trading Abreu to them.
  8. QUOTE (SouthSidePride05 @ Dec 17, 2014 -> 08:36 AM) Can you imagine if the Sox acquired Cole Hammels and Evan Longoria? The excitement would be insane! Why in the world would we acquire Cole Hammels?
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 17, 2014 -> 07:15 AM) He's almost 30. To me, that doesn't mean as much of a return than if he was say, 25 or 26. This is true, so the price wouldn't be unobtainable but it'd still be a hefty price. The nice part is that no matter what, you'd still have Rodon and Adams.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 17, 2014 -> 06:59 AM) Would trade anyone on the farm not named Rodon to get him. With that said, it's probably not happening. +1
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:14 AM) Doug Padilla ‏@ESPNChiSox 10m10 minutes ago Rick Hahn says that because ticket sales were up after winter meetings moves, Reinsdorf gave approval for Cabrera contract. Goes without saying that the White Sox are headed above what they expected to spend on 2015 payroll. Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 12m12 minutes ago Hahn: '2 driving factors. Jerry giving us latitude to aggressively pursue Melky and response we've received from Sox fans so far' Excellent.
  12. The funny part is that Leury wasn't even that terrible looking. Didn't he almost get a strikeout?
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 09:13 PM) Thank you. I'm not trying to say RV is an amazing manager, but he is probably neutral and mostly irrelevant. The team (and especially the bullpen) sucked balls, and that's why they lost. Not because RV used them incorrectly. If the Soxtalk hive mind managed the team, they'd have won 120 games.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) Melky Cabrera is a hole? I think he's saying Avi. I don't think Avi and Conor will be holes.
  15. The only problem with The Cell's location is the skyline should be in the background.
  16. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 04:42 PM) It has been discussed what is the best in terms of development for Carlos, with many agreeing he need to start in minors. My question is, what is the best way Carlos can be used to help this team compete in 2015 WITHOUT sacrificing his development? Forcing his way into the rotation.
  17. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 11:13 PM) Took him what, 3 more years? I'm kinda more impressed that the mailman is number 2 and like 4000 points ahead Doesn't make it any less amazing. Brian's right. Kobe is the closest you'll ever get to MJ.
  18. I hope they start Ynoa. I was so amped to see we got him in the deal.
  19. I want to add that anyone questioning Balta's fanhood is being foolish. He is one of the biggest White Sox fans out there, if only because of the the virtue of how long he has been on this board and been active.
  20. Myers was a lot harder. But I'll take the current Sox over any NFL team. By far.
