QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) Look into the Mazda3 or Mazda6, if you're the kind of person who buys a new Civic you'll be surprised how much better those two meet your needs than the Civic. If you value performance the Mazdaspeed3 still isn't as good as the Focus ST but the base model is the best hatch in America right now. I did love my 2005 Mazda3. Any reason you find it better?

So, my 2012 Civic got totaled on the highway the other day. I'm looking for tips on getting a new car, because my insurance is covering it to the point where I won't pay much more a month. I did love my Civic and can get a new one from my dealer for about $210/month for five years. Honestly, the only hang up I'd have is choosing between black again or carbon gray. I love black, but it seems hard to keep clean. Thoughts?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) Sorry, nobody will EVER be able to convince me the Sox are in better position than the Royals this season. The Royals are .500. We are 30 below. It's been agonizing. And as far as No. 1-3 draft picks. Yeah they've really helped the Royals the last 25 years. Do you have a crystal ball on Rodon? He could suffer an injury and never pitch. You just never know. Besides if we're picking that high, some of us might rather have a stellar HITTING prospect. I'd rather win and just take the best player available. I just think it's very dumb to write reports of how the Astros' game is going on here. Who gives a s*** about the Astros' rally in the sixth inning of some game? Not me. The White Sox have their future rotation almost set. Have a few yoyng position players thst can compliment a lineup and only about $60M committed to next year, not counting returns for our more expensive players that will likely be traded this offseason. A major market with plenty of money to spend and a good rotation to build on is better than the s*** fest that has been the Royals.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 12:03 AM) You draft lovers have it made. You can still enjoy the rest of this pathetic season. A few of us are in misery on a nightly basis over the Sox results since we do not care about the draft. Losing 100 games and getting Rodon is better than 92 games and someone else. It's not draft loving, it's recognizing the best opportunity to get talent. Acting like any of us enjoy this season is asinine. Yet the Sox are still in a better spot than the Royals.

QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 10:03 PM) The only thing that concerns me with Santiago is his BB/9 and HR/9, he owns 3.97BB/9 & 1.12HR/9 as a starter thats a yellow flag. Since July and including tonights game he is at 3.22BB/9 a .75 drop and 1.15HR/9 a .03 increase. Hector needs to follow in the mold of Rienzo and keep his pace up, because when he takes to much time between pitches it goes to s***. As a starter he has a 4.24FIP @ a 3.20 constant thats below average. Hector has the talent to be just as good as Sale, he just needs to get those two things in check and he will be money. Not sure about quite that, but I do think Hector can be a high-end #2. The fact that the Sox get Sale, Quintana, and Santiago to build the staff around and possibly Johnson and Rienzo will make a rebuild go much, much faster.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 2, 2013 -> 11:16 PM) And you take him no matter how many left-handed starters we currently have. Yup.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) Let's look at the bright side- if we continue to get worse (which it appears we will) we'll get the #1 pick in the draft next year and hopefully be able to get a very nice position player who is near major league ready. Miami continues to win and hopefully the Astros can too and secure our position. I have no idea if there is a Bryce Harper type talent out there in 2014 but it sure would be nice if there was.... The big prospect is Carlos Rodon, a left-handed starter.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 08:06 AM) I wish A Rod could be banned and the Yankees have to pay all of that money to some charity or something. But not be able to write it off, lol Seriously.

What role does a pitcher of Danks' age and contract have on a rebuilding team with 3 younger and better lefties?

I can't believe I'm actually rooting to lose.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 06:31 PM) I'm one of the biggest Danks fans on this board, but with three young, cheap LH already (Sale, Santiago, Quintana) and potentially another if the sox really suck or what the Stros do (Rodon) might be best for the sox to part ways. And I'd honestly want to see Rienzo and Johnson get his starts and see if one or both develops into a nice MLB starter.

Waiver time!

This deadline sucked.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 03:05 PM) Jayson Stark @jaysonst 1m I'm told at least one trade was completed before the deadline. Stay tuned Dunn for Tallion.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) If Konerko retires, who would be next in line to be captain of the Sox? There are only three captains in baseball...Jeter, Wright, and Paulie. So no one is my guess.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) This is dreadfully painful...
