QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) Regardless of how I may feel about the sport, it was a great article. And Im sure people thought other sports were silly when they started, think basketball and throwing a ball into a peach basket. And intially you couldn't move with the ball. What shocked me is the fact that Kissimmee, FL's local economy is projected to gain $7M off this years world cup

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) I just don't see it being fun, it looks incredibly stupid. Holding a broomstick between your legs? OK. I guess if you're a huge Harry Potter fan, you'll do anything to be "part" of it. I'm honestly not too big a Hary Potter fan. I read and loved the books, but that was years ago and I stopped watching the movies after the second. The broom made no sense to me at first either, I was dragged along by a friend. It was awkward as hell at first, but now I don't notice it. It is a good handicap though, or you could just run holding it with two hands at full speed. Once you get past running with the brooms (it takes a while) it's incredibly fun. However, it is fun when passer bys mock us at practice and then decide they'll jump in for a minute to show us how great an athlete they are. Then me or another of our players levels them with a tackle.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) Hernandez profiles a lot like Quintana. So what deity/mythical creature do we roll with this time?

"To be honest, whatever people say about me and the White Sox, I am a true White Sox," Guillen said in his first professional return to Chicago since his exit two games before the end of last season. "Put it this way, 21 years with the same organization. Nobody can say (expletive) about me in the White Sox organization. Nobody. I am a true White Sox. I spent more years in the White Sox than anybody out there. The White Sox will always be in my heart." Kenny: 3 years as a player, 20 years working in the organization. 23 years. Coop: Organization since '88. 22 years. Baines: 14 years as a player, 8 as a coach. 22 years. Ozzie, recheck your math. "First of all, they're my friends," he said. "Rios is my dear friend. I cannot say anything about Rios because I knew him before he came to the White Sox. With Dunn, if there's one player I have more respect for in the game than (Jim) Thome, Konerko, I think Dunner is." Pretty sure he hated "Dunner" "Wait a minute," he said. "(Expletive) Chicago media. That's why people talk bad about Chicago media. How about Mark Buehrle? He's a nice guy, so no one say nothing about him, huh? All right, Mark Buehrle left Chicago in mourning, but you don't say anything about him. That (bleep) don't sell." That's right Ozzie, Mark Buehrle left the same way. "(Former Sox manager) Jerry Manuel, if he was here, not any of you guys would be here," he said. "Ozzie Guillen is here, look at you (expletive) guys making a line." Let's throw Manuel under the bus while we're at it. http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/...-sox-better-him

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) Really, really great to see Humber pitch 6 innings and only give up 2 runs against a decent offense. This. Maybe the injury was really bugging him. And Suck it Bobby V!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 01:04 PM) Chicago - the 2011-2012 home of the sports injury I think Herm was traded for the Bulls staff.

Humber throws another perfect game. Then sucks again. Just to f*** with us.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) http://www.suntimes.com/sports/cowley/1379...-scores-to.html Just admit it: You miss Ozzie Guillen. Then again, denial is the first stage of grief. The first line: We know you do Joe, we know you do. Second line: Joe's in denial because he know's he'll be out a job soon.

RZZZA has almost 800 posts in almost a month. Damn.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 07:54 AM) Wow. That sounds like a terrible movie. Really wish they did something more interesting and relevant like Black Panther or Namor Apparently the script is fantastic, which is why it got greenlit.

Let's do this.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) Um, OK. That doesn't even look remotely fun. Is is the brooms? Because you do basically forget about those at some point.

Damnit all.

I think Youk is pumped.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 04:54 PM) Talking raccoon? If he's directing it, it'll be good. The Guardians of the Galaxy line-up: Star-Lord: Basically, a half-human/half-alien who serves as the commander of the Guardians, an intergalactic Avengers. Drax the Destroyer: A man created to kill Thanos, the villain shown at the end of Avengers. Gamora: Thanos's adopted daughter. Highly skilled assassin. Has some daddy issues. Rocket Raccoon: Think Bender from Futurama, but with more guns and a raccoon. Groot: A giant, talking tree. Vocal cords are so deep most people only here him say "I am Groot" despite his massive intelligence. Unconfirmed for movie: Adam Warlock: Think Dr. Strange, but intergalactic. Also has a Soul Gem in his forehead, which is something that Thanos covets for the Infinity Gauntlet (located in Odin's Vault in Thor) and is Thanos's mortal enemy. Quasar: Gains powers from Quantum Bands, like Green Lantern's ring. Nova: Not a Guardian per se, but another Green Lantern Corps-esque hero.

Can't tell if they're booing him or cheering him for that hit.

This Youk reception by Red Sox fans is great.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) Or our starting 2B, SS, LF, and Closer, or Hudson, Richard, Santos, and Gonzalez. Unless you mean past two years only, in which case PLEASE find me a team that has produced an ace, closer, and more in the past two years. Again.

QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) And even so, the guys that have come up recently (other than Chris Sale) are either middle relivers or backups (Jones, Reed, Danks, Flowers, Escobar, etc) Or our starting 2B, SS, LF, and Closer, or Hudson, Richard, Santos, and Gonzalez. Unless you mean past two years only, in which case PLEASE find me a team that has produced an ace, closer, and more in the past two years.
