The rich know that stadiums are a bad investment. They hold cities hostage by saying "pay up or we'll leave". Maybe their bluff needs to be called. There's always the bribe that other events would help pay for a stadium. That rarely happens.
This thread is going to to run out to be a fillibuster thread. I never go there anyway. I like places that are free of political stuff. I hope mods will also remove or edit any political jabs people throw in their posts. I've seen this happen with newer members.
Emotion is overrated. You can watch the NFL all day and see a WR celebrate over a 2 yd pass. Most of your hall of fame players in any sport would not be there if it was based on emotion.
It's not the glamorous position it use to be. I'd bet any young catcher that is good at hitting a baseball an organization wants to move them down t first base.
The Sox never get an experienced manager. It's often former players. Fans get duped into thinking this is the right thing to do. Omar Visquel will probably be the next manager. As for the Cubs the experienced ones like Baker and Pinella didn't pan out.
