  1. Mark Buehrle was one of the most fundamental pitchers in the game. He worked quick, he was hard to steal against.
  2. Less frustrating to watch as well.
  3. Do any of you watch other team's systems? This seems like the ideal thing for a baseball junkie.
  4. If I can't watch the Dash, then I'll cancel.
  5. Go to a buffet before the game. Develop a taste for beer better than Miller, Bud Light, Pabst. If not remember you can get a 12 pack of those on sale for what a cup is at the ball park. Force yourself to never buy concession prices. I was pretty shocked during Spring Training that Chick Fil-a was one of the vendors and they had to charge $14 for a chicken sandwich.
  6. So is the Dash no longer a TV broadcast?
  7. Of course a possible replacement would be an inside guy or former player. Sometimes they need an outsider for a different way of doing things which they never do so I'm not on the fire Cooper bandwagon.
  8. Some people think going from the minors to MLB works like college to the NFL,NBA. I always wondered what the average time spent in the minors was in different eras or decades.
  9. I took a different approach last year and watched plenty of White Sox baseball except it was AA, A, on MiLB. The broadcasts were not as polished but the baseball was far from depressing and very exciting.
  10. Nope. You got it all wrong. Our 1st year rookies are suppose to put up Mike Trout numbers or they are busts.
  11. Same here. I think AJ had a better grasp of the game being a former Twin. As for being on the mound no current Sox pitcher has the fundamentals compared to #54.
  12. I don't think MLB is good in March no matter what team. I'm gonna go 7-20. 3 games will be called.
  13. I heard a quote last year, "you can't coach stupid out of a player". Most guys going into the minors have played baseball almost half of their life. If some things like fundamentals or catching a baseball is not there I don't see how any of that will improve in the minors. Yet the Sox must think so and evidence doesn't seem to prove that. Then they try guys at different positions to try to fill in the missing piece for the majors. It's always a fail. Maybe new ownership would change this but then again the new ownership would have to replace people and that takes more work.
  14. But we can't deviate from our doom and gloom attitude.
  15. I guess then you have to put that money in scouting and development.
  16. I often think if they don't have it by now they never will. I don't think this organization is good at developing players who are not good at catching a baseball. They sure seem to draft them though and try them at risky positions. If defense isn't there by college I don't think the minors will make them improve.
  17. So White Sox trying to turn every player into 1B/DH.
  18. Go Winston-Salem, Kanny, and Barons. Winning baseball happens to be down on the farm.
  19. I guess the NFL season for Bears fans can't come soon enough.
  20. After watching Winston-Salem it seems most of those guys in the lineup seem to have a sense of situational hitting.
  21. Did this thread got derailed into a political/religion thread? I have no clue if this violates Soxtalk but when we start venturing down this avenue it's a great way to kill a site when there are plenty of other places for these type of discussions.
  22. That doesn't involve putting your buddies and former players in the ranks. I'm not sure what's up with all of these brittle players they seem to get.
  23. There will probably be at least another 140 of those when the season starts.
