It destroys the theory of the Sox trading their best players for this make believe haul. It would be a fantasy to have a farm system that has players who are there because there is no ML roster spot for them. Trading your best players like a Robert is something a small market team operates. Some organizations can do that because they better scouting and development. Then there are the Royals who never get better. The Sox are closer to they Royals than the Rays. So the idea of a haul is closer to a fleece. It's not yesterdays news that opposing GMs know the Sox are not good at scouting and development.

Blow it all up is only an emotional response. Doing so just means decades of Royals and A's bad. I have no trust in scouting and developing. They don't hold any coaching accountable. Former player syndrome which fans are addicted to doesn't work. Their managerial hires are like dumpster dives or the guy they always wanted that's well past their prime. I doubt Grifol was really Hahn's choice. But it is the habit of getting people from habitually losing organizations. I think it was more of a budget choice. I don't think I can be a fan of this team much longer. Blow it all up will solve that.

Unfortunately modern day nasenall and fans have no appreciation for players like that. They need to have at least 20 homeruns. In modern day baseball Mark B is what I would consider a Famer. He got people out not throwing hard. Great at fielding and one of the best pitchers in the stretch. He was fundamentally sound. I'm starting to disiike modern baseball. One pf the reasons is the high injury rate among the league.

I didn't watch the game (because I'm not into inflicting harm on myself) and only looking at stats why didn't they stick with Kopech a little longer. Either way most likely looking at a loss but give the pen a rest.
