  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 7m7 minutes ago Chicago, IL Rick Hahn: "We're all in this together. ... We're accountable together." #WhiteSox Hahn: "There does come a point you can only look at the back of a baseball card for so long." Hahn: "It's getting to the point where it's not early anymore." #WhiteSox Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 7m7 minutes ago Hahn's view on Ventura hasn't changed. Remains supportive. "We're all in this together." RIck Hahn: "frustration level high but organization believes in this team." Scot Gregor ‏@scotgregor 8m8 minutes ago #WhiteSox GM Rick Hahn says he might have roster moves in mind but not giving timetable Sounds like a bunch of nuttin' from our meatball management.
  2. For a second, just looking at the title of this thread, I thought maybe good, 'ol Uncle Jer may have sold the team and I hadn't yet heard about it. Sigh.....one can dare to dream, can't he?
  3. Does anyone have confidence in the three-headed brain trust of Jerry, Kenny, and Rick to turn around the fortunes of this franchise and deliver results unlike those we've seen in the past decade or for most of their 13 years working together?
  4. If I had a dime for every time Hawk has told us over the past few seasons (and correctly so, btw) about all of the "gift runs" we've given away...
  5. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) A former reporter said the problem with the organization is that it laid back. That's why they get free agents to come here. Then the organization sucks at developing position players so the roster become casual. Players like Ramirez can't be benched because there is no one to replace him. Maybe a few on the pitching staff may fear they can be replaced but not the position players. How many other organizations that have been this poor at developing position players would keep the same people in tact. There is no accountability other than low attendance. They need to sell this team to someone who might care a little bit more. That is what this franchise DESPERATELY needs - NEW OWNERSHIP! You cannot argue otherwise. Unless fortunes change and soon this year, it will mark the 30th year in 35 years of the current ownership's tenure in which they have FAILED to make it to the postseason. That is a terrible record and it explains why we have the fourth worst attendance in all of baseball. Jerry/Kenny/Rick have had their crack at this working together since '02, and except for one magical year a decade ago, their track record has been abysmal. Our sleeping giant of a franchise and our long suffering fan base so needs a shot of fresh blood in the form of new ownership, it's not funny. It is a fool's errand to think the current regime is capable of future results that won't look similar to that of the past 13 years. Reinsdorf purportedly advised his family not too long ago to sell the team in the future upon his passing. Perhaps if that's such a good idea at some point in the future, maybe he could do his family and all of us a favor by selling now so that this team could finally move in a far more positive direction than it's currently experiencing.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) Good call, he was out. I'm with you. There was one view there where it looked liked he tagged him on the thigh just before the foot hit the plate.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) Putnam having a pretty good run recently He is Bruce Sutter-ish when he's on with that splitter. Fun to watch!
  8. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) If we have a lead going into the ninth, does Robertson pitch again? Or do you go with Putnam? Save situation = Mr. Robertson
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) Then stop playing him so often against lefties. Couldn't agree more.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:27 PM) LaRoche now has a .778 OPS, when will posters stop including him in the list of underperformers? Any OPS under .800 for your clean-up hitter is never anything worth writing home about.
  11. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) Maybe they're trying to spare the fans from the inevitable Hawk rant about the dreaded leadoff walk When Hawk brings up the "dreaded lead off walk", it's never in reference to our hitters. He saves that call for the opposition hitters in a close game in the late innings.
  12. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) 3rd leadoff walk. Let's see if we can go 0/3 (not that it's much of a challenge for our offense). Is that what you want, an 0 for 3?
  13. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) If I was Robin I would take him out after that s***. Put Sanchez in I 100% agree. Errors of such a careless nature can't be tolerated. Not to mention, the game is close, and with guys like Sanchez and Alexei on the bench, you can't afford any further plays like the two we've already seen tonight.
  14. There is some serious beard-age going on at the DH slot tonight between Gattis and LaRoche.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 08:51 PM) Avi needs to learn how to slide. He's going to break his ankle if he keeps sliding as hard as he does. I am really worried about that. His legs are all kinds of awkward sliding into bases.
  16. Stone coyly bringing the conversation current by changing the topic from Yaz to Abreu.
  17. Geez, Adam - second time in the past couple of days. Hold onto that thang!!
  18. This 20 year-old is a pleasure to watch. What a talent!
  19. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) How is it possible that no one on this team besides Avi and Jose can hit a fastball? There was a ton of tardiness in those three K's.
  20. Robertson has such great moving action on his pitches. Just a pleasure to watch!
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 09:21 PM) There's no doubt he's not this bad offensively, but IMO the bat doesn't project enough to be a regular and therefore we shouldn't endure his growing pains while we attempt to compete. At least Micah has a shot of being our long-term 2B. The question is will Micah's defense ever get to a point where you can tolerate it? It was pretty bad. If he can, then I agree he is the long term solution to the position.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) I wonder how much longer Hahn will be cool with Flowers & Sanchez in the starting lineup. With the amount of high-paid regulars struggling, we can't tolerate a complete lack of offensive production at the bottom of the order. Flowers has clearly proven he's not an everyday catcher. Not sure if he'd be an improvement, but I'd give Kottaras a look in a part-time role. As for Sanchez, he's currently sitting on a .400 OPS. I don't care how good his defense is, he's a negative value player right now. I stand by claim that Micah Johnson should never have been sent down in the first place. But given that they clearly don't feel confident with his defense, simply split time at 2B between Beckham & Bonifacio (Gordon could play 3B against RHP). Steve Stone seems to advocate the position that at every level Sanchez has been at, he's been the youngest in the league at that point, and that his game catches up to that level fairly quickly. Stone also seems to intimate that will happen at this level at some point as well, that his bat will catch up. He seems overmatched at the moment, but maybe he'll get there with a little more patience.
  23. So chances are we will see Fulmer in Sept? That's the plan?
