  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) Call up Anderson and put him in left. Bat Arow and Gooch one and two. It stops the smartball, but come on we havent played smartball in over a month anyways. So who are we kidding. Arow was stellar in the leadoff last year. Anderson can get some ABs. Lets see what the kid can do. I like that idea, give Anderson a chance and lets see what he can do. Who knows maybe he plays well like Miguel Cabrera did and give our offense a lift. Or if plays well, replae Timo on the bench.
  2. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) BMac, Haeger, Rodriguez all throw shutouts WOW! good to see BMAC pitching strong!
  3. This really sucks, Grossman looks good but he cant stay healthy. Bears season is over already. Great job by the bears not signing a veteran bcoz they dont want a QB controversy, that's stupid.
  4. I was expecting the worst today. But the loss today is pretty bearable for me bcoz the Sox played real well against a possible playoff team and holding them to only 3 runs.
  5. QUOTE(ISF @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) I have to agree with the anti-Griffey sentiment. If we're going to trade for a Reds DH let's get Dunn. I don't see either passing waivers though, since the Spank-mes need OF help. I agree with you there. If we are giving up young, Dunn should be the one coming back to us. Dunn would look good at the Cell.
  6. Where is Anderson? Is he injured?
  7. The sox better start playing good baseball again. The last couple of WS champs, they were one of the hottest team in baseball going into the playoffs. Angels, Marlins and Bosox carried their hot streak into the October series.
  8. beck72 good call on Ibanez, he would fit in nicely giving us some pop in the lineup.
  9. Is that 3 starts in a row where Bmac pitched well. Good thing we have him as an insurance for our Cuban pitchers.
  10. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Seriously though Trot Nixon looks a lot like Rowand to me. My wife said that to me
  11. I like the Blum move but still I was hoping for a bullpen help. Oh well, let's go SOX!
  12. Great addition to the bench. Pretty sure he plays better 3rd than Ozuna.
  13. Man Honel is putting up a good couple of starts. Just continue dealing Kris. Im still rooting for him.
  14. Per Rotoworld Manny Ramirez - OF - BOS The Baseball Tonight crew has learned that Manny Ramirez will not be traded, ESPNews reports. OK. Ramirez was scratched tonight and the Red Sox still aren't saying why. His hamstring may be giving him problems again, but it's not just that. Jul. 30 - 7:15 pm et
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Holy f***. Manny pulled right before the game from the lineup. I saw that on MLB.com also. I wonder if the trade b/w the Mets, TB, and Bos is finalized.
  16. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) but nothing Gload can't do. Really? Can Gload play 2nd and 3rd? Mackowiak is a gamer, could be a nice fill in I'll take Mackowiak on our bench than Timo.

    Adam Dunn

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Dunn would absolutely RAKE at the Cell Dunn would put monster numbers pulling the ball along with the wind.
  18. Great job so far by the sox bouncing back from ugly loses against KC.
  19. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Damn. It hurts when its real. Big hurt took a lot of abuse, some rightfully so but he is a damn great player. Its a good thing he came back this year and received all those standing O's from all the sox fans. Get well and good luck to the Big Hurt.
  20. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) That is perhaps exaggerating, but it will be much more difficult to advance in the playoffs without: a) Acquiring a middle of the order bat. or B) Carl Everett playing like Carl Everett circa 2000, Jermaine Dye playing like the Jermaine Dye of the last two months (aka .900+ OPS) for the rest of the season, or some equally unlikely development. This definitely requires getting a bat. Our offense needs a boost. I'll take Huff or Overbay in the middle of the order.
  21. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Apparently Soriano for Cameron and Milledge is done. Stupid move for both teams. Texas doesn't demand Petit, and the Mets will collapse as usual. Where did you hear that? Shacon to the Yanks, not a bad deal for them. They desperately needed help, still dont know why other teams help the Evil empire. SD padres acquired catcher David Ross from the Pirates for J.J. Furmaniak. I believe I heard Hernandez is injured that's why Pads needed a catcher. Seems like the trades are coming now. Cant wait to see what moves we can make.
  22. Bruce Levine said the Cubs are after Alfonso Soriano and if they get him, Soriano will play LF.
  23. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Oh my goodness. This place is going to be a complete trainwreck if Kenny doesn't make a single move at the dealine. :unplugs laptop in preparation :takes all pointy objects away from Armchair GMs Very funny We need somebody to start the ball rolling for the trades to start flowing. I guess we'll wait til sunday to know if any deals will happen. 3 more days nooooooooooooooooooo!
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Middle Relief. Baj is a stud AAA closer. Maybe a set up guy for Baj. But good to see him back with the Sox.
  25. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Jenks proved something to me yesterday. It seemed like he ran out of gas in the 2nd inning and was able to gut it out and get us to the 13th. I agree with you, Jenks being tired was still able to get outs. On Viz first inning though, he couldnt get an out.
