  1. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=94839 GoGo, are you in the Quad Cities TV area? Looks like "Channel 8-3 WQAD-TV Moline (my network TV) - all 55 games" You'll need an antenna.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) Raise your hand if you're tired of seeing Drake LaRoche. That's the kid? I saw him in an MLBN segment a month ago, but I haven't seen any of the games so far. Is he getting a lot of screen time?
  3. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 12:00 AM) As an out of state fan, I'm all over my want for this; like my desire for anything 2k5 related... especially the early playoff round games *ESPECIALLY THE AJ ALCS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!* ... got the World Series DVD from 05 and it was only clinching games besides the entire series. I got Mark's Perfect Game from here and am willing to compensate... please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PM me.... My Grandfather lives in a Chi-Town burb' and I've tried slinging stuff but he's way too old... You can get the dropped third strike game on iTunes.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) I am in a state of depression over this at the moment. I had been checking to see if I would be able to watch Sox games over WGN-A this season. I was answered by Sox public affairs saying yes that the Sox had a contract for WGN to carry 35 Sox games in 2015. But, WGN-A said they don't carry sports. Since I live in MT I just wasn't sure of the difference between WGN and WGN-A. All I see over Charter Com cable TV is WGN-A and broadcasting a bunch of syndicated TV shows-all reruns of course but no baseball. I probably will not watch WGN-A anymore. I am considering MLB-TV streaming over royko oir some other device. I think the cost is about $20 a month And that's to get just about every Sox game all season, rather than just the 50-60 you've been getting on WGNA. It's a steal.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 08:22 AM) I got a Roku for Christmas, so I decided to fork over the dough for MLBEI this year. MLB EI is through your cable/satellite provider. I assume you mean mlb.tv?
  6. Wait. People think that parking at the Cell is difficult? Have these people been to any other park in the country? It's utterly painless. What do people expect?
  7. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) This kills my ability to see games with any regularity. I could usually count on seeing the Sox a few times a month. Now I have to rely on ESPN and mlb network, and they're virtually nonexistent on both channels. Actually, this probably does more damage to the Cubs since they have a larger national following that depended on Wgn games. Bad timing for Cubs fans out of market. So you're in the same situation as out-of-market fans of every other team. Braves fans across the country lost this (to a greater degree, as I believe way more Braves games were on TBS than Sox games on WGN, and maybe even way more than Cubs games on WGN) As I said, fortunately for you, you're not in the blackout zone so you can get Extra Innings or mlb.tv and watch every game. Fans in parts of Iowa, Indiana etc have no such luck. I realize that it sucks because of what we've grown accustomed to, but I think out-of-market fans need to realize how ridiculously lucky they were for decades to get to see Sox/Cubs games on cable basically nationwide.
  8. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 6, 2015 -> 11:43 AM) Alright, someone needs to hook me up with a streaming link while I decide if purchasing MLB.tv is worth it. If you live out of market and want to watch the Sox, how in the world could it not be worth it?
  9. Have tickets for Sunday. Unfortunately, looks like even if Sale is all good to go, weather on Wednesday and Thursday in KC might ruin his return in Chicago.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 10:48 PM) What payoff? The Giants won the World Series last I remembered. Bumgarner >>>>> Kansas City Doesn't matter. There are other kinds of payoff than winning the ultimate seven game series. Life isn't that simple. Royals fans will remember last October for the rest of their lives.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 11:06 PM) Quintana is better than Samardzija QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) poor Quintana. He either needs to grow his hair out our get even worse run support for people to notice him. Pretty much. I'm getting a Q shirsey next week at the park. Dude deserves it.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) RV also says Danks will be the No. 3 starter. Noesi gets the home opener April 10. https://twitter.com/ESPNChiSox/status/583339417726685184 QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) Yes. Sounds like he'll pitch April 12th. Starters will be on regular rest. So much for splitting up the lefties and righties. Samardzija should start on the 11th and Sale on the 12th, then?
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) Think the word raving is an understatement based on the way Pleskoff was speaking on Rodon. It really seems all too good to be true. As I've said before, with Sale-Q-Rodon all around for at least the next 3 years, things become so much easier to build around. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) Try at least 5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) Or 6. He said at least 3 because that's what Sale is under contract for, before his options kick in. That's pretty much the definition of "at least."
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 02:09 AM) Over all three. .350, 50, 150 Whoa.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) It wasn't long ago the other Marriotti wannabe, Joe Cowley, got into a lot of trouble with sexist tweets. He almost got fired, and did get demoted from a columnist back to a beat writer. And his name is apparently such poison that it isn't even listed on his "Sun-Times basketball" account.
  16. I remember hearing a Joe Sheehan and Rany Jazayerli podcast last year where they speculated on nutrition for minor leaguers being a market inefficiency. If you (the major league club) could cater good food for them at home on a regular basis; the reward could potentially vastly outpace the cost by a large margin. All just speculation, but an interesting idea.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) To be fair...we already are going to need to find a slot for a different LHer this offseason. Mark! won't be a 6th starter. Right. If the Sox can get rid of Danks at some point he might be a decent option. You'd think that even if they can't retain Samardzija they'll dip into the top-end starter market, though. That might preclude a back-end signing.
  18. Anyone think he'd be interested in returning to the Sox on a short deal after this season? I'm not sure how much money he'd command. Would round out the rotation pretty well.
  19. Of course Sale's ahead of Bumgarner. Sale is arguably behind only Kershaw and Felix overall, and many people would argue that... Kershaw (stands alone) Felix, Sale (gap) Everyone else, headed by Scherzer, etc Bumgarner is a top 10-15 pitcher in baseball whose amazing postseason run is coloring people's perceptions of his ability heading into this season. There are people who say they'd take him over Kershaw, who is in the midst of a historic run right now. Those people are morons.
  20. This seems like a lazy Hawk-style comp, right?
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 26, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) Pardon my ignorance, but why is 4/12 considered to be such an attractive return date? Why not 4/10, 4/11, etc. It's the first day they need a fifth starter, and it'd put him right in the spot in the rotation where they want him to end up.
  22. Are these guys ever going to call the game? Who do you think they interview next?
  23. Another Bo Jackson lovefest in another booth today. Yawn.
