Law has remained relatively high on Giolito throughout, right?

Reynaldo getting the call and the ball on Friday

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 31, 2017 -> 08:23 AM) Weird, looks like Ricky was misquoted, he said ReyLo I'm not sure which is worse. -

Cool. I'm going this Saturday for the Buehrle bobble (which doesn't even look like him), and next Wednesday for Dog Day. Looked like it was gonna be Shields and Giolito, but with the reshuffle looks like it'll be Rodon and Lopez. Nice. -
sox marketing technique - acquiring attractive players

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) My ex loves Yolmer. Which is ironic considering he reminds me of Maggs which is who my high school sweetheart loved. ? They don't look a thing alike... -
sox marketing technique - acquiring attractive players

Moncada is far more handsome than Kris Bryant and I'll fight anyone who disagrees. -
I love tennis for the diversity of levels/locales that go along with it, and for the fact that a few times a year the worlds collide. For example... I've seen both Federer and Tiafoe play in person. Federer on Cincy's center court, Wimbledon's Centre Court, and just a few weeks ago, Montreal's center court. Tiafoe I saw playing at the Challenger in Winnetka two years back. (champion gets $7,000) Just one example, it's fun to see how many of those Winnetka Challenger guys show up at the big tournaments, often playing top seeds.

Happy trails. Sox fans never appreciated you--I could count on two hands the Quintana shirseys and jerseys I saw at the park over the years, including my own.

This is actually different from the passes they've offered in the pass. If I'm reading this right, this is good for the rest of the season and it's ten tickets you can use in any combination you want--10 games by yourself, five games with your dad, or a game with nine friends. Pretty cool.

Hawk to retire at the end of 2018 season
3GamesToLove replied to justBLAZE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) The 2005 post season was lame without Hawk. That was when I discovered how overrated Chris Berman was and really didn't care to watch ESPN after that. One needs to actually be "rated" in order to be "overrated." -
Hawk to retire at the end of 2018 season

Benetti isn't perfect, but I'm still a fan. The cornball could use some toning down, but the rapport with Stone is solid and I do think he gets plenty excited about the games. The news of the Hawk arrangement next year is fantastic; I honestly find myself tuning into road games less often due to Hawk now that I know the alternative. And I tend to go to a decent number of Sunday home games so my Hawk exposure will be minimal. As a kid, I loved the guy, I really did. But it's time for us all to move on, and has been for about a decade. -
I can't decide if I should wear a Sale or Quintana shirsey.
-
So excited for this game. Expecting/hoping he'll get a standing ovation, but you always get those morons who boo any former player regardless of circumstances.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 1, 2017 -> 11:48 AM) Right by Schaller's pump and the park over there. Schaller's Pump literally closed yesterday, unfortunately. Never made it there myself.

Special Event Jerseys and Caps Announced

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 09:36 PM) I've heard rumors that they'll be doing a turn back the clock night mid summer with the 1917s Surely the 100th anniversary of a World Series deserves more than just a one-off throwback...I'm also bummed that they've stuck with the '83s that everyone loves for some inexplicable reason. -
2017 White Sox Home and Away Uniform Change
3GamesToLove replied to Frank_Thomas's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm really disappointed that they haven't announced any throwbacks or anything to tie into the 100th anniversary of the 1917 World Series. Those would look better than just about any of the ones discussed above. Great logo. -
Of course, Europe in general and England in particular didn't take the World Cup seriously at all for a long time. England didn't send a team until 1950 (when they lost to the US). Why should they? They invented the game, of course they were the best.

Yeah, Israel's WBC requirements are basically identical to their citizen requirements thanks to the right of return.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 06:08 PM) Liriano, Engel and May all stole a base. The same one? I don't think that's legal. Didn't this happen with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1926? Isn't only one of them safe, and the rest out?

QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 07:15 AM) As a player? Nah. But you can say "World Series Champion Manager" and everyone will understand retiring his number. Yeah, the Ozzie argument is manager + player longevity.
-
Wilbur Wood should really have his number retired. Also, Appling and Collins are the best position players in White Sox history, arguably even including the Big Hurt. Those guys don't have statues. A joke.
-
The Cubs and Maddux are a good comp for the Sox and Sale. Would the Cubs have retired Maddux's number if he hadn't come back at the end of his career?

QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 07:47 AM) Isn't that a good thing in a season where they are rebuilding? edit: As long as it's not one of the young rebuilding pieces that is. Or a trade chip. But yeah, good luck convincing Lip of that.
