I've never done Soxfest. Is it worth going just the Sunday? I'd be interested in getting a couple autographs but don't want to spend the whole day in lines. The panels sound cool.

Hi everyone, The wife and I bought a new fridge about two weeks ago after our old one died. It looked like it'd be too pricey to fix and it was fairly old (belonged to previous owner) anyway so thought it was time. We got a side-by-side Frigidaire from Lowe's that had decent enough reviews. A couple of days ago I noticed that A) the ice wasn't dispensing and B) that there was a massive buildup of ice all along the back panel of the fridge. It looks almost like a glacier flowing down, with icicles hanging off the shelves as well. It seems to have started from near the make of the ice tray. They were longer/more prominent but I knocked some of them loose. The ice maker was full but not a frozen sheet on top or anything. I actually can't even pull out the tray because the back is frozen and I don't want to break anything. Again, we have only had this fridge since 12/15. We got the extra protection plan from Lowe's, and when I called yesterday about it they said they couldn't even get someone out to look at it until January 11th. I have no idea what sort of damage is happening from this and don't particularly want to wait a couple of weeks. I called a local repair place and she advised me to just go to Lowe's and ask for a new one, as even when they come out they'll probably need to order a part, stretching out the process even further. Any advice? I'm relatively new to the homeowner thing. Some photos here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzRwxW9dx...WVBmUlNJcW1GUUE And yet another shelf lower. The weird sheet/igloo there was left after I removed a bag of frozen potatoes.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
3GamesToLove replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) Not familiar with milb.tv. Can I get it on my Ipad? Cost? I believe it is available on iOS, yes. I think it's $50(?) for the entire season, $25 if you already get MLB.tv -
White Sox Farm System Ranked 2nd in MLB
3GamesToLove replied to GGajewski18's topic in FutureSox Board
Eric Longenhagen was on Cistulli's Fangraphs Audio this week and they talked about Moncada extensively. Sounds like Longenhagen may well have him as #1 when he does his big list. -
This has been said elsewhere, but it's becoming increasingly clear that Abreu is a good to very-good player, but not a great one. Certainly not the superstar it seemed we had on our hands during his rookie year. Not meant as a dig; he is still on a good deal. His trade value, however, is maybe not as high as we would've expected. Plenty of first basemen out there. Be nice to have him around if they do keep him.

This thread title is so misleading. Every time I see it I think there's an actual substantive report of a deal being done, not just "Sox shopping Robertson." There are probably a half-dozen better ways to title this thread that won't mislead readers.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
3GamesToLove replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 12:46 PM) I would trade Quintana Rogers is the real deal. Imagine Rogers , Moncada, and Anderson up the middle. I'd prefer Rodgers, myself. -
This has nothing to do with the University of Northern Iowa.

Fangraphs not optimistic on Anderson's bat
3GamesToLove replied to NCsoxfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, I'm not crazy high on Anderson. I think he can be an average major league regular, which is a coup for the Sox considering their track record in developing position players, but I think it's misguided to talk about him as a future star. -
He seemed like an annoying asshole, but what a great player to watch. Good at just about everything.

Four year control guys off the table(JQ,Nate,Eaton)

This is probably just because I'm out of baseball mode right now, but it sure took me a while to figure out who the hell the "Nate" in the thread title is. -
QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) The Cub fans are just looking for any reason to complain about him because he is the Cardinals broadcaster. He, and media as a whole, have been particularly favorable towards to Cubs during both of their last two playoff runs. Buck hasn't worked for the Cardinals for almost a decade, but I get your point.
-
Honest question: I was busy this week so didn't see much of this series. B this whole "Buck loves Kershaw" thing is overblown, right? Like, Kershaw is the greatest pitcher on the planet and in the conversation for greatest of all time. Not to mention, Buck seemed to praise people like Baez plenty too. I'm curious as to how much of it is standard "local fans are annoyed at national broadcaster's praise of opposing star player" and how much of it was an actual unusual amount of praise.

Baseball cards inside Chicago Tribune today
3GamesToLove replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (WBWSF @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 06:39 AM) 1) Voting Kittle over Minoso was absolutely nuts. Evidently the younger people who voted were not aware of how good a ballplayer Minoso was. 2) I'm wondering if they put the Santo card in there to aggravate the White Sox fans. Ventura won the White Sox poll. His card should have been in there. This wasn't the results of the Sox poll (believe it or not), it was the winners of the Sox poll vs the Cubs poll winners at each position. Santo beat Ventura (as he should have) -
QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 12:22 AM) That story was on the entire front page of the Sun-Times on Thursday, September, 22nd, 2016. Nice color photo of the new scoreboard with guaranteed Rate's logo showing on the board, above the headline: 'Sneed Exclusive: Point Of Contention'. Here is a link to the article: http://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/sneed...row-adjustment/ . "Marquis area."

I'm hoping you're the only RV at spring training.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 10:44 AM) Wasn't he doing work on Fox the last couple post-seasons? I'm sure he'll be back this year. Since 2011, actually.

New 2016-17 Soccer Thread
3GamesToLove replied to LittleHurt05's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Nothing like a 4-nil win away from home featuring a magisterial performance from Christan Eriksen to set up for Spurs' first CL campaign in six years. Pumped for Wednesday. (I was there in 2010, by the way. I went to the home match against Inter--the day after my 21st birthday. Probably the best live sporting event I've ever witnessed) -

This'll be my last game of the season. Looking forward to a 21-20 victory. -
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Kinda sounds like our last shortstop. Our last shortstop, who was quite good. If Anderson winds up better than Alexei we should all be over the moon.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 03:03 AM) What is Drysdale doing broadcasting the Sox game? His job? He worked with the Sox for six seasons in the 80s. Surprised that you're surprised; I'd gotten the impression you were a fair bit older than me.
