Anthony Ranaudo starting vs. Cubs on Wednesday
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 04:29 PM) I'd rather see him start in the minors than have him in the bullpen in the majors at this point. Same. Doesn't make sense to call him up with the team in the position they are in. If they were in 1st place and needs bullpen help, MAYBE...

Crosstown Cup Finale Game Thread, Game 4
Here's hoping we see Sale go 8 IP 1 ER 8K's - shut those losers down.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) So is Chris Sale some kind of evil genius? It's like the Ozzie effect or something. Never would have guess they'd sweep the Cubs at home. I just hope it doesn't throw a wrench in the rebuilding plans that actually seem to be in play this year.

Rookie move by the rookie. Gotta keep Shields on a short leash here.

Crosstown Cup Game Thread, Game 2
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) Weird isn't it? I'm guessing he's hurt. Doesn't seem like a big piece unless it's somehow with Q for Mocada+ That's what I was thinking, he's a replacement or throw-in. But we're probably just overthinking it.

7/26 games
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) Injury? Gameday didn't say. It was a defensive substitution and then they shuffled Peter and Muno around.

7/26 games
Posted this over in the Trade Winds forums as well, but Sanchez was pulled early in the bottom of the 3rd for Delmonico. Anyone got any ideas the reason behind that? Seems odd to pull him so early. #HugWatch?

Robertson on Nats radar
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Robertson? He has two and half years of control right? Correct.

The Possibility of the Curve Ball from the Sox...
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) The White Sox are caught in hell as they have what everyone wants, starting pitching. They have enough to win a world series. They just can't figure out how to get hitting and defense to help that out. Their bullpen is too mediocre to win anything. Even with Putnam and Petricka they imploded.

James shields drawing some buzz
Well, here's hoping he at least can pull off a QS against the Cubs. That should let teams realize he still has something in the tank against their deadly lineup.

Non White Sox Trade Rumors
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 03:09 PM) #Padres making progress on trade involving Andrew Cashner, sources say. He may be dealt before start tonight in Toronto. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/758030626922659840 Will be interesting to see who gives up what for him. Hopefully not a team in the Sale/Q sweepstakes.

Chris Sale scratched from start
The more I think about this, the more I have to wonder... What the hell is Sale going to do when the Sox blow it up at the deadline and he isn't moved? Is he going to burn down U.S. Cellular because he won't be able to win on an even s***tier club?

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:34 PM) Robin to sit Saladino tomorrow. You can take that to the bank. Haha, you know it. Stupid is as stupid does.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 10:09 PM) Albers doesn't belong in the big leagues. Our only hope is they only get one run and we push across a run like we did twice late vs. Detroit. What chokers we root for. He needs to be DFA'd. It's long overdue. Hell, give Goldberg a shot. He'd at the very least match what Albers is currently capable of.

Marlins scouting Mig Gonzalez
Good, get something for him.

Dodgers kicking Tires on Q
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) What about adding Robertson with Q though? That should max out the deal even more. I'm not so sure. I know there's been talk of a mega deal with the Red Sox, but you would think adding in Robertson's contract would hurt Q's value if they were paired together. Part of what makes Q so valuable is not just his skill set but his team-friendly deal.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 06:56 PM) That's the type of return they need to get. That's why he's not going anywhere. I agree. I am very much against moving him unless a player such as Correra comes back in return. That contract is insanely valuable and should drive the asking price up IMO.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) @aycockonxion According to a source, the White Sox have told the Astros that Sale is only available if they include Correa. LOL yup I would be very surprised if he goes anywhere.

7/21/16 Tigers @ Sox
Ah crap, I actually like Lawrie. Really hope out of everyone on the team he's one they'd hang onto.
-
White sox may be reconsidering their stance of being non sellers
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 05:15 PM) Really think Sale will stay and Q goes. Same here. Sox keep Sale and Rodon with Fulmer as the future rotation guy. Q can easily net you a very good haul of 2-3 prospects. The rest of the league knows he's good even if the general public do not. Frazier, Cabrera, and Robertson should be moved as well if the deals are there. I would try to keep Eaton and Lawrie unless absolutely blown away. As mediocre as Lawrie can be, he's been the most productive 2B in a Sox uniform since Iguchi.

What to do at the Trade Deadline
Might be a fit there... Guess it depends on how desperate they are and if the Sox are at least smart enough to listen.

7/20 Games
Is Jacob May hurt again or has he really been regulated to Charlotte's 4th/5th OF'er? Find it odd that he would get benched for 5 consecutive games instead of one of the other fillers they have on the team.

Sox trade Scott Carroll to Rangers for Cash considerations
Always found Carroll to be a feel good story and fun clubhouse character. Too bad he's a AAAA player.

David Robertson is a fantastic closer
Even after last night, I still think Robertson is in the upper echelon of closers. Is he overpaid? Absolutely. But it was a necessity the Sox needed at the time and it still is. If you remove last night's game and the game against KC he has elite numbers on the year. Closers make mistakes that can easily be amplified when the rest of the team is struggling.
