  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 04:17 PM) Fun seeing AAA pitching face MLB hitting isn't it? So glad I did not waste my time watching this game. Makes little to no sense why they call up Fulmer to have him sit on the bench and trot this a****** to the mound. Fulmer could have at least gotten his feet wet in the starting role.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) Source? We'd have to send someone down to make that happen. Correction, they'll need to DFA someone. The 40 is full and Turner is not on it.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 05:11 PM) Why would they bring up Turner just to DFA when Rodon is back? Talk about bullpen depth but they just recalled Kahnle before the brak for the umpteenthtime. Maybe another FA or trade move is getting ready to be made? Like others have said, he's getting paid $1.5M this year and has not done very well in Charlotte. He would most likely slip through waivers.
  4. I just have this terrible feeling the Sox are going to call Morneau the "Trade-Deadline Acquisition" and he's going to blow.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) I found this interesting just because of how much has been made of his different approach this season: Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka Chris Sale through 16 starts 2015: 2.80 ERA, 112.1 IP, 84 H, 22 BB, 147 K 2016: 2.79 ERA, 113.0 IP, 88 H, 23 BB, 109 K #WhiteSox I would much rather have last year's Sale back. I don't see the new approach as really contributing to anything other than maybe keeping his arm healthy? A 1.1 IP difference seems pointless IMO.
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 05:10 PM) are you f***ing kidding me? Man the f*** up. It's all hands on deck the rest of the year. This team just really pisses me off. Not sure if RV is covering his own ass but how about challenging your men to step up when guys are hurt in a big mid-summer game? I honestly question if these guys would p**** foot around like this if RV wasn't such a pushover. Couldn't agree more. I find it hard to believe Robertson wouldn't have been on the mound if the Sox were up 8-7 in the 9th.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 04:21 PM) Once in a while, DH Abreu, 1B Frazier, 3B Saladino That leaves you without a viable infielder on the bench. If the Sox would stop carrying 5 OF's I'd agree that would be a logical thing to pull.
  8. QUOTE (captain54 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) Danks must have really been finished with that release and the Sox to eat that salary…. If he had anything left in the tank he could at least have been used to soak up innings... I don't think the Sox quite expected to end up where things are now. Danks was the only blemish in the pitching staff at the time of his release. Beck should be interesting. His K/9 is up coming out of the pen. At least he's a former starter and should be able to go a few innings on Thursday...
  9. I'm almost at a loss for how bad Shields has become. This is by far the worst implosion of a ballplayer I've ever seen during my lifetime.
  10. Myers would be interesting. Maybe the Padres would give us a break due to Shields
  11. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) I think they are trying to showcase Avi. That makes sense. I still think he could net a possible relief option for the Sox. Some team might be willing to think they can get him to perform better.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Coats DH today. Surely he has to be better than Garcia defensively, no? I think anyone is better than Garcia in RF. Coats never really had any special standout tool, but is supposedly average across the board.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Garcia is a stunning 51% career base stealer. Great call to have him go there!!! Especially against Perez. No way Avi had the green light...
  14. Nice play by Lawrie. 4 more to go...
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) How many more days does Avi Garcia have left remaining on the White Sox roster? I think the Sox trade him at some point this year for a relief option. One of those I'll take your underachiever for my underachiever type of moves.
  16. Latos has been toast the last month so I'm not sad to see him leave. But this does put the Sox in a little bit of a weird position regarding the 6th starter again. Beck seems to have been moved to the pen, so does that leave Renaldo as the emergency starter? I'm not overly confident Gonzalez is going to be able to last the rest of the season in the 5 spot.
  17. Worth noting Davidson is still above the .250 mark. Doubt he'd be able to contribute anything to the Sox, but it's nice to see him at least performing now.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) Rick Hahn sure has a horrible track record in terms of signing free agents. This whole organization needs to be turned upside down. I don't think Hahn is any worse than any other GM. Problem is this organization is always desperate for a particular players and the Sox have to jump at less than ideal options when they are available. Sox haven't had a good LHP out of the pen since Thornton.
  19. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) The best thing that I can say about him is that he doesn't abuse the pitching staff and that he's done a decent job of managing/calming/motivating the not-so-smart contingent of the clubhouse that went wacko back in March. I would argue completely differently. Do you think that level of outburst would have happened with a manager like Maddon, Bochy, or Showalter? The way that clubhouse reacted goes to show you the complete LACK of control Robin has in that clubhouse.
  20. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 06:01 PM) Each day they let this continue is another day they lose more fans. This is pathetic baseball and has been for the last several seasons. Now, with the Cubs playing championship level baseball on the Northside, is not the time to dick around and try not to hurt poor Robin's feelings. We don't need to see how this next homestand goes, we have 6 years of putrid history to gauge Robin's abilities. I've never really been one to consider JR an awful owner. I think he's always done a decent job balancing the business side of his franchises with investing in payroll to at least be somewhat competitive. With that said, what is going on now with Robin Ventura and Gar Forman is really making me second guess how good of an owner he is. He's old and more than likely should not be making business decisions for either team at this point. Look at what happened once the Cubs got new ownership a few year back. The same thing needs to happen with the Sox. They need to clean house in the FO and get the right people in place to right the ship. JR, KW, and Robin should all be gone. I'd be willing to give Hahn another shot, because I feel like KW micromanages the crap out of him.
  21. Safe to say Phillippe Aumont's baseball career is over. Guy is just downright brutal.
  22. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) John Jay is not what we need. What we need is what a lot of teams could use - more home runs. Nice to see Saladino take one out to win a ball game. One shot like that can turn a game around and change the attitude of the team after a long losing streak. Shields? I don't want a guy like who has been guaranteed millions and is now on cruise control. The Padres are right. This guy is emblematic of what is wrong with giving players large multi-million dollar Contracts. (John Danks agrees). Jon Jay would be a welcome upgrade to the Sox. They lack a quality backup OF'er who can play CF. He also bats lefty, which might allow you to play the match-ups with Jackson. I'm not advocating the Sox rush out and make a deal like this but he would bring something the Sox could use.
  23. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ May 30, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) Exactly! This organization and team needs a complete makeover. Step one is firing Ventura. Step 2 is starting to dismantle the team once they are 7-8 games out in Mid-July. Trading Sale, Q, Rodon, Frazier, Eaton, Abreu, Lawrie, Robertson, and Melky will bring a ton of prospects. The haul from all the trades plus 3-4 years of top 3 draft picks should make this team a force to be reckoned with come 2021 or so! Step 1 should be getting new FO management. The Sox overhauling the system with the same people in place is only bound to fail yet again.
