  1. Keuchel is currently at 15 innings through 4 starts. At that current rate, that averages to 113 IP through 30 starts (the same amount of starts he made last season). Even if you account for a few good, 'dominant' starts, you also have to take into consideration all the bad ones that will be mixed in between. In last season's 30 start sample, he only made it through 7 innings 4 times, and 6 innings 8 times. With the way he has looked so far this season, he is visibly worse than last season, and is more likely to be headed towards DFA territory. Even with what's left on his contract, don't forget that in 2014 the Sox cut John Danks loose and ate his $14M salary. It wouldn't be unprecedented.
  2. Cornelius Randolph was released too. Spot in Birmingham just opened up.
  3. Hope Lambert is ok, or the Sox SP depth just hit rock bottom once Cueto gets called up.
  4. I’d put Yoan 2nd. Give me a guy whose had known success in that spot and will compliment Anderson’s aggressive approach with his patience and ability to work the count. 1. SS Anderson R 2. 3B Moncada S 3. CF Robert R 4. 1B Abreu R 5. C Grandal S 6. LF Vaughn R 7. RF Pollock R 8. DH Sheets L 9. 2B Harrison/Garcia R/S
  5. This team is gonna get swept this weekend, aren't they?
  6. Agreed. I’m fully prepared for a 1-3 series with how bad this team is right now. How they prove me wrong.
  7. Nice interview. Still don’t really think of this kid as anything more than a potential relief arm. Would be great for him to prove me wrong.
  8. What? Oh man that sucks. He was doing good this year.
  9. It's a little trick I just recently learned about, but it works for all PCL, FSL, and Knights home games.
  10. If anyone is interested in some stat cast data regarding this start: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?date=4/28/2022&gamePk=666259&chartType=pitch&legendType=pitchName&playerType=pitcher&inning=&count=&pitchHand=&batSide=&descFilter=&ptFilter=&resultFilter=&hf=playerBreakdown#666259
  11. It is only his 2nd start. He's literally having ST in April. I'm fine with them being cautious with him. He's been in the league 13 years, I'm sure he knows his routine by now and knows when he is ready.
  12. I’d entertain Burger once in a while at 2B, at least he has actually worked out there and played games there in Charlotte. Just leave Vaughn be though. He’s passible in LF, and with Eloy out there’s no reason to keep pushing him around.
  13. With how bad the Sox defense has been, I'm not sure making it worse is the right direction. I think Yolbert Sanchez might be an internal option this summer.
  14. I could see that. I've always felt that out of that group, Callis/Pipeline tend to be a little too generous at times when grading guys. Love all the work they put out though.
  15. I don't know if I'd say least knowledgable, but they definitely are very bullish on some players. Sometimes it's good to see a different opinion.
  16. Seriously. Not considered a top prospect on any publication... Not sure if there are Mercedes-like tendencies we aren't hearing about or what, because he certainly seem MLB capable right now.
  17. He’s thinking how he can shed payroll. He’s thinking, “why can’t these players play like winners under the great Hall of Fame baseball person?” I am terrified what this team might look like come July if they are not in the division lead and below .500 - and it starts with Giolito.
  18. He deserves it. Hopefully he keeps on rolling and we see him in Chicago soon.
  19. Good. He never should have been hired to begin with. He belongs in a retirement center.
  20. This team is in serious trouble.
  21. Micker's current line in Charlotte: .172/.200/.172 with a 43 K%.
  22. He just gave up a 2-Run HR to Tyler White. Final line: 2.2, 5H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2K, 1HR. He was only meant to go 3 IP and/or 50 pitches.
