I don't think anyone on the FA market is even an option, they need someone whose stretched out and ready to go, not someone who will need 3 weeks and be ready by mid-May.
Man... They HAVE to trade for Manaea. I cannot believe this team did not address SP depth at all. They didn't even bother signing anyone for Charlotte this offseason.
It's amazing what this move does from a depth perspective for the Sox. Granted, I'm sure a lot of us would have preferred better players when talking about Garcia, Harrison, Engel, etc, but this team is definitely better than it was a few days ago.
Trading Vaughn for Manaea makes this offseason ever weirder. That's an all-in move, and definitely does not fit with the rest of the offseason.
If I were the Sox I'd probably try to build something around Jose Rodriguez + Kelley/Thompson/Dalquist. Anything beyond that isn't worth it for a rental for me. I'm not moving Kath, Montgomery, Vera unless we are talking legit ace.
Very happy with this. This has some really good potential if Pollock can stay healthy. The way TLR rotates guys in and out, he should stay relatively fresh all year.
You’d have to get Oakland in love with Thompson/Dalquist/Kelley. I agree I don’t think it’s enough. Unless you can get them to go after Ramos or Rodriguez, but I would be hesitant to move either for a potential rental.
I honestly would love if Ciuffo beat both Collins and Zavala out for the backup job. I don't think Zavala ended the year well with the Sox. He had a few games near the end of the year where he could stop a beach ball from getting past. I can't imagine TLR wants to have to pick between Zack and Seby.
I prefer Rev and Goose to what Molson Coors offers. Was a big fan of the Sox Golden Ale at the games as a go to. Miller light is equivalent to piss water IMO.
Agree with you on Kimbrel. I don't think the Sox are moving him. We're about a week and a half away from opening day. I think if we were gonna see a big move (and this goes for all clubs) it would have happened by now. Maybe May will be busier than normal.
