  1. I’m not sure it really makes much difference. They normally don’t put a guy on the 60-IL initially. I’m still very worried he will be out a while and this is strictly formality swapping Robert off the IL.
  2. I’ve already accepted he’s gone, so trade him. Jerry is never going to hand out a $200M+ contact to a pitcher, especially one that is the player union rep, especially one that he fought over $10K with.
  3. Exactly where I am. Lost season. Just let the expiring contracts expire and maybe they can someone improve the team with a normal offseason. If they play this bad next season then look into breaking it up.
  4. I will say no. They need a major turnaround on offensive approach if they are gonna make it. Right now I'd guess they finish 83-85 wins.
  5. I think the Sox are just trying to get to the point where Lynn is back and then Dallas is as good as gone. John Danks was cut way back when with way less IP and the same results.
  6. Nice story to begin the season, but he's not cut to be anything more than a mop-up arm.
  7. Martin has had the tendency to give up HR's his whole career. Charlotte isn't the friendliest park for pitchers to pitch in.
  8. Wish he's at the vert least be in the lineup at DH
  9. Garcia has a HR and a 2B in his only two career AB’s against Taillon. I’m guessing that’s why he’s up so high. Small sample size, but he’s had success in the past against him.
  10. Perez and Sanchez just continue to make the case for a call-up.
  11. Well, this is the perfect team to get him back on track. He’s been very good again them in the past.
  12. Can’t wait to see who needs a day off today.
  13. Wes Benjamin was released and is headed overseas.
  14. Jameson Fisher was released. Had a terrible year at the plate.
  15. He's such a lost cause. Yermin is always gonna be that guy that causes problem after problem.
  16. Only Charlotte home games.
  17. Good win all around. Team is starting to play to expectations. Win the series tomorrow!
  18. Keuchel is currently at 15 innings through 4 starts. At that current rate, that averages to 113 IP through 30 starts (the same amount of starts he made last season). Even if you account for a few good, 'dominant' starts, you also have to take into consideration all the bad ones that will be mixed in between. In last season's 30 start sample, he only made it through 7 innings 4 times, and 6 innings 8 times. With the way he has looked so far this season, he is visibly worse than last season, and is more likely to be headed towards DFA territory. Even with what's left on his contract, don't forget that in 2014 the Sox cut John Danks loose and ate his $14M salary. It wouldn't be unprecedented.
  19. Cornelius Randolph was released too. Spot in Birmingham just opened up.
  20. Hope Lambert is ok, or the Sox SP depth just hit rock bottom once Cueto gets called up.
  21. No excuse to not win today, smash that lefty!
  22. I’d put Yoan 2nd. Give me a guy whose had known success in that spot and will compliment Anderson’s aggressive approach with his patience and ability to work the count. 1. SS Anderson R 2. 3B Moncada S 3. CF Robert R 4. 1B Abreu R 5. C Grandal S 6. LF Vaughn R 7. RF Pollock R 8. DH Sheets L 9. 2B Harrison/Garcia R/S
  23. This team is gonna get swept this weekend, aren't they?
  24. Agreed. I’m fully prepared for a 1-3 series with how bad this team is right now. How they prove me wrong.
  25. Nice interview. Still don’t really think of this kid as anything more than a potential relief arm. Would be great for him to prove me wrong.
