  1. ReallY hoping we hear some Kimbrel movement today. Would be great if that rumor yesterday was true. I honestly hate that guy and I just want him off this team so bad.
  2. Perez honestly is probably a solid option. He just may not be MLB ready yet.
  3. I’d be all for Bellinger. It’s risky, but I’d rather have him than Kimbrel. Haniger would be a dream but that makes zero sense for SEA.
  4. I’m at the point I’ve come to terms they aren’t adding a RF bat. Just move Kimbrel to free up some cap space and get Manaea so we have an extra arm. They CANNOT allow Keuchel’s option to vest this season. If they are that up against the wall they can’t afford any dead weight contracts.
  5. I agree. I think Cease will ultimately be the ace of the staff.
  6. The Sox must have thought they could have netted an equal return value in a Kimbrel trade as the Rodon pick compensation that the QO would have given them. We all realize they couldn't risk doing both, so it had to be one or the other. I just cannot understand why they would even entertain either of those options If they were that caught up against their budget. Why even take that risk? I honestly cannot see them moving Kimbrel now without picking up something on that deal, or including a prospect to sweeten the deal.
  7. Because if he comes out and says they are at their limit while trying to offload Kimbrel, he loses negotiating power. The power of perception.
  8. If only they had an extra $16M they could put towards improving the team... Oh wait.
  9. If Conforto is seeking an opt out, it 100% won't be with the Sox. JR isn't going to sign off on that.
  10. Jose is an ironman, I can't imagine what he must feel like on a day to day basis. His body has taken a beating his whole career, I'm sure he is feeling the effects of it by now.
  11. Nick Ciuffo! j/k They literally have done nothing to fix the most important areas of need. This team is still good enough to win the division, but a lot is going to have to go right for them to go deep into the playoffs.
  12. Exactly. The need to try and maintain/re-build the farm so they can keep extending the window.
  13. And what happens if June 1st rolls around and Sheets and Vaughn are both having sophomore slumps or grade out as the worst defensive RF pair in the league? This team is right back to having a black hole in RF again. When you're in the position the Sox are in you put your foot on the throat of the competition. That's what good teams do. There's plenty of options for RF still. They need to take advantage.
  14. What’s your general feelings to them actually being able to convert on one of the bigger RF options? I feel like we’ll see something for a SP, but I don’t have an optimistic view on the OF because of Boras.
  15. Manaea has a better track record, but Montas has the control and higher upside IMO. If we are looking for innings, I think Manaea is the better fit. And he should be cheaper to get too.
  16. Wasn't there rumored to have been a deal with him before he even made the team last year and something happened last minute?
  17. I only say that because last nights trade makes me feel like they aren’t done. I could totally see Torres moved. I think they’ve soured on him. Edit: NEVERMIND ?
  18. Totally agree. Doesn't help so many Boras guys are still out there. I can't imagine these teams want to have this market drag into ST. Unusual to see such high profile players moved while guys are just starting their workouts and getting into the swing of things.
